@aaronepower14 I want to apologize, there will be no further parts to this review. I've not had the time, and I've installed far too much on my Windows 7 install for it to be reviewed correctly like the other videos. Apologies.
I've got a XP computer, and want 2 install 7 onto it. The problem is my graphics aren't supported (according 2 the compatability test), everything else works just fine. So just wanted 2 ask, is the aero feature that necessary to be satisfied with Windows 7, or should i just stick with Windows XP? Thanks (BTW, Great Vids!!!)
@solidcancer Personally I would say that Windows 7 generall overall is a good operating system. You don't really need the Aero Feature to be completely satisfied with Windows 7, but I would suggest that If the compatibility test suggests that your computer may not be powerful enough then I would say stick with XP.
Both XP and 7 take up the same general area of specs. So it's really just your decision! =]
ok si i have a laptop and it is currently running windows xp. I want to upgrade to windows 7 ultimate. But my laptop has a "designed for Windows XP" sticker on it. Does that mean my laptop wom't run windows 7?
soo let me get this straight... lets say i got a comp from 2008 that came with vista home premium and i decided to put windows 7 on my laptop and on the vista i cant play some steam games, so if i get windows 7 on my laptop, despite whatever the CPU is, will windows 7 make my comp performance faster and games more playable regardless of the laptop speculations?
Your computer will definitely run faster, as Windows Vista did make a lot of issues out of handling CPU speed. As for making games more playable, if your CPU speed is increased with Windows 7 in comparison to Windows Vista, then yes they will be more playable. But this can also depend on your ram and graphics card ;)
2GB of ram is definitely alright for Windows 7, as for the:
Intel core Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50 GHz
This is the processor not the graphics card. The graphics card would be made by nVidia or ATi by standard, and is the chip that is responsible for rendering all of the data on screen, like games for instance.
For TF2, It might work on Medium, but I'd need to find out what Graphics card you have ^^
Sorry about that, I used a different account (YSLIVE2010) to reply to you.
Anyway, an Intel Graphics card isn't the greatest. I had tried two years ago to play Half-Life 2 on it and had some problems. But that's not to say that it won't for you. (As the intel graphics card I tried it on was 2 years old - yours might be upgraded).
Try it anyway, but for gaming, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator isn't the greatest sorry =[
oh. i knew it, but oh well should still get it and get rid of the freaking annoying errors and shit vista gives me XD
btw, is there a way to install windows 7 without losing all my files but takes off vista stuff and replaces it with windows 7 files? cuz i feel when i get a back up drive, and backup the stuff and then add in windows 7 i feel that those stupid vista errors with go into THERE. is there a way to stop that? oh yea the version im thinking of putting is 7 ultimate.
When you install Windows 7 you are asked either to Upgrade or to format. Upgrading to Windows 7 will retain your files in a windows.old folder in your C:\ However this is not recommended as you may retain any problems/viruses from your previous installation.
I would recommend backing up everything to a seperate drive, don't worry about all those stupid vista errors. They're exactly that. Stuid Vista-only errors. - Scott.
I have Gt 240 GDDR 1gb... which is meant to be for built for windows 7(it was out in 2009 nov 19) but it works on vista and xp... and i am using it on xp so i wont be using my g-gard's full power until i have windows 7
are there any improvements with normal directx 9 games?? because i'm playing race07 and it's based on directx 9 :(...is windows7 faster then vista in directx9 games? thx, you're videos are pretty useful :)
Not really, any improvements would be on Direct X 10 and Direct X 11, you may see a preformance boost, and some other things like improved reflections, but not much.
Windows 7 brings faster gaming, much faster then Vista. =]
What rating does your laptop get from windows? Mine is 3.2 cause I have integrated graphics. 4gb ram and 2.0ghz amd turion x2. Do you think I could run fear 2?
I always prefer PC's over consoles. The thing is with a console, you can spend 400 quid on a brand new one, which means you'll need to buy a new console in 2 years time. Or if you know where to get the parts, you can build that computer for 400 euro, get Windows 7 and whenever something new comes out like, Direct X 11 cards. You can invest in that (100 euro maybe). Put it in your computer, and hey presto, a brand new upgraded super-awesome-deluxe-gaming-machine lol
I know, but I think you still end up spending a lot more on the pc side. I'd rather pay $400 every 4 years or whatever. I got my 360 for $150 actually, you can't buy a decent computer for that. And I like sitting on the couch to play lol.

danyboy1412 1 year ago
It means that although the computer is designed specifically to run with Windows XP. It CAN in theory run other operating systems.
It can run Windows 7 as Windows 7 is a lot faster than Windows Vista, and doesn't really need as much resources as Windows Vista.
Basic Answer: It will more than likely work with it, but it depends on the specs. - Scott.

"depends on your ram and graphic card"
well i have 2 GB ram, and the processor (thats the graphic card?) is Intel core Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50 GHz and the system is 32 bit OS.
thats still powerful enough right? cuz i really wanna play Team fortress 2 on my pc.

Okay i found the graphics card and its called "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile".
is that powerful enough for both windows 7 and the game?

hi scott, another question :D:D:
i'm using vista 32 bit :
T9550 (2.66 GHz), 4GB RAM, 9650M GT 1GB
is it better if i pass to win7 64 bit or win7 32 bit??
(because i've seen that you're running win7 64 bit) thx XD
filozzo46 2 years ago
If it's a dual core or up go with 64, I'd also recommend going for 64bit if your using 4GB's of ram or more. =D
