  • The interior of the coaches is very similar to the European version (Bombardier Double-deck Coach), even if they look very different from the outside. I wonder what is the reason for such big differences in the design of the exterior.

  • In this railcar consist, railcar number 2425 is rumored to be the oldest railcar in service as of 2012. Is that true "Buddahboo"?

  • Brings back memories. I had a summer job cleaning these babies at the Willowbrook Yards (next to Mimico) in 1978. Except for the TV's they haven't changed a bit.

  • @Parkwaymania Really?

  • @cnrail16 Yep. We still had the original single decker cars then as well. It was always fun cleaning one of these after a rock concert or football game...ugh!!

  • @Parkwaymania Well now, that's so neat! I respect you for that! I bet the one in 80', was the worse. The night where Alice Cooper was scheduled to be performing at the CNE, but then they cancelled it, and the audience started rioting there from the anger of the cancellation! I bet they trashed the "Government Of Ontario" (GO) trains! Do you remember if they trashed it that night?

  • There's TV on the train?

  • A triple decker train! And I tought Amtrak's duble decker trains were crazy!

  • i checked online and for a transit system dats southern province based its cheap.

  • I really enjoy riding the GO trains, on the upper level as you see here. Relaxing -- you get a nice view of everything and the trains are clean! Bonus.

  • sigh.. I wish they still used the Tv's..

  • to be hounest this is something i would do when i was on the go train so thanks for the idea for next time ok signed cliff.s

  • are there washrooms on go trains?please answer

  • @nivan9 yes, i help build them :)

  • your so lucky because where i live i only get the small gp30 freight trains then again they dont always come that often and no passenger trains either but i love you video by the way lol.

  • I think i'd be scared as hell if i had to go on such an old trains...

The trains in Belgium look waaaay moderner

  • where are all the gangs

  • you're allowed to go between cars???

  • 212 2009 2010 2425 2041 2513 2449 2058 2128 ??

    lmao

    almost

    what the hell

am I bored or want to prove myself.

  • do they ever check your ticket?

  • TVs?!?!?!? WTF Tri Rail doesnt have TVs :(

  • on the go train are u allowed to move bitween cars??

  • awesome they got tv's something njt should lookat

  • interesting i was unaware that you are allowed to move between cars. i always assumed the doors were for emergencies and employees like transit police

  • dude this is so cool

  • Oh, real double deck cars rather than those... what do they call them... with the "open second floor". I assume they have toilets on these trains, are they on every car?

  • They gotta make thos seats swivel back and forth like on metras bi-levels!

  • i love doing this and seeing the Mark I coaches then a brand new one right next to it

  • why were you laughing soo much LOL!!!

  • I was actually racing (walking with) someone behind me all the way, they were trying to pass me and I kept kicking them in back of me and pushing them back while recording this.

  • @Buddahboo lol!

  • @Buddahboo if they wanted around you why not go the other way like when you go down they could of just went up. or where you guys playing?

  • Great Video mate, I like the look of the Go train you guys have in Toronto. How many cars to a train I kind off lost count when you were walking through. Looks very nice and Modern and I guess it must thousands of Passengers each day. In a City your size you need a good big transit system in order to get people where they need to go.. Thanks again these kind of videos I like watching.

  • no problem Im glad you enjoyed the usual consist is 10 cars but now as off 2010 some trains are 12.

  • @Buddahboo wooow, dmn thats alot, here in san Diego the Coaster only carries 4 cars

  • @Cajetoso23 Well our ridership rate is quite high in Toronto. Especially on the Lakeshore line.

  • These are so much nicer than MBTA double decker cars.

  • I love walking in between cars! It's so fun. It just moves your whole body. Great video!

  • is walking between cars allowed now ?

the last time I rode a GO train, it was not permitted !

  • yes it is permitted. plus there are a lot of stations on the lakeshore line that are being remodeled currently so passengers are told over the loud speaker if you want to get off as station (example) XYZ and your near the rear of the train please walk through to one of the first 5 cars as only those doors will open at station XYZ. cant walk through TTC train cars in toronto.

  • oh okay, Thanks !

yeah the subway cars I knew about, but people do it anyway !

  • To be honest, I never knew you were allowed to walk from one car to another :/

It was pretty cool how you went through that journey through all 10 cars, thank you for that.

Most people on that train were looking at you like "WTF??"

    LOL

  • your very welcome...lol ,ya I love that stunned WTF look on there face when I pass by with my camera.

  • Bi-Level cars are better in Toronto than in Montreal. We don't have rest rooms like yours.

  • Yes you are right however an individual by the name of Oliver Bullied did experment with duble decker cariages on the Southern Region in the 1940s

  • NO doors close automatically behind you a few seconds after your through them, if it doesn't close then that means its broken..lol

  • Do you close the door?

  • We Could do with these bi levels inthe UK then over crowding on our trains would become a thing of the past

  • bi levels would be cool in the UK but i like the single level mk4 coaches, not to mention most of your tunnels could never handle the height of our bi levels.

  • these cars are dead silent from the car ahead or behind it but that's why there are security/emergency levers everywhere. Bombardier makes the train cars, GO Transit uses them in Canada. In the USA : CALTrain, Metro link, SunRail, and Rail Runner also use these same Bombardier built cars. and yup all Toronto rail cars: Street cars, TTC trains, scarborough RT are all built by Bombardier. talk about monopoly..lol.

  • Wish they had chose siemens instead for the subway lines. In many subways around the world, most countries do a mix of bombardier and siemens. I personally feel that siemens is german originated and offers better quality trains in contrast to bombardier. Not to sound like I dont like bombardier but they tend to offer the cheapest product when it comes to costs in all public transportation competitions around the world.

  • @Buddahboo also some of air canada jazz air planes r bombardier. dat got a business goin.

  • Man..it'd be kind of freaky sitting alone in one of those cars because even if you scream for help, i wonder if others from 3 or 4 cars away would hear you. Lol. Is this the GO Train? or Bombardier? Or does Bombardier make Go Trains too? Bombardier is making new Toronto streetcars! yay!

  • GO is Bombardier !

Bombardier crews operate GO trains !

  • Lol. Never knew that! Cool!

  • Bombardier INC. makes the GO transit cars, CN/ CP crew operates it and the Government of Ontario maintains it. circle of life!

  • yep !

only CP crews operate the Milton line, Bombardier crews operate the other 6 lines. CN made it clear to GOT & BBD that freight was their "stupid" priority !

but other than that the GoO does provide the funding.

  • I plan to do the same thing for Metra in chicago when I get back home and LIRR next time im in NYC

  • I was at Burlington headed back to Toronto. The train was in motion during my walk through.

  • were you at burlington or bronte

  • Good walk!

  • very good! nice job!

  • That ride was free wasn't it? lol

  • best time to be on the GO..lol

  • umm have to ever been to georgetown go station ?

  • Wow... The trains seem a lot shorter when they're flying by.

  • not really
