The American media is designed to produce ignorant consumers who know nothing but what they are spoon fed about world affairs. If this idiot reporter had done a bit of research, he would've found out that there a billion people that live in China. This fact alone creates massive infrastructural problems that require massive infastructural solutions. The growing wealth of chinese people mean they will increasingly move around the country for work and for holidays. The mad rush of hundreds of millions of people going back to their home provinces for chinese new years is a good example.

If you really think the new terminal is for showcasing, then you are really ignorant. I've been to the old terminal years ago. And i must it is crouded as hell. Only thing amazed me is it takes Olympic for Beijing authorities to realize they have a rediculously small airport for its enumous city and surrounding counties.

BBC is SHIT, and that goes the same for most of western media, because they like to take every chance they can get to say something bad about China, and some of those ting are not even TRUTH! Most people don't even know much about China, they are influenced by the western media, and believe every single thing they said. Remember, not every country are "perfect". I from China, my country is not perfect at everything, or I agree on some of things they do, but I pround to be Chinese.

The BBC chap, says that China's goverment does not have to ask the public permission. Well if you are to get the premission form all the 1,3 billion citizens then how long time will it takes to get things done? Then he would not be there to report about the hard work done. The British airport is taking take a much longer time to build & cost twice as much. So what is there to compare between the both cases?

Seems the western media works like a bunch of (you know what) ! So what has happened to their own T5, that has been asking their tax payers for permission to get the new terminal built? TO ASK OR NOT TO ASK, THAT'S THE QUESTION. On the web, the BBC's Asia Pacific section has mostly something negative about China & other Asian countries. They just want to find faults with us, or what?They should better look inwards before going to rubbish others !
