Saw ETC Last night at Mohegan Sun Wolf Den, He and his band were great! I always felt that he sang from his heart and his life experiences, I was awed by his presence and his performance and feel that he is one of the last great country song writers and singers
Country DJ from the eighties who just showed up in a Delorean long enough to say that I proudly played a whole lot of ETC's hits and respect the man enormously to this day!........Doc Brown is callin'...gotta go.....Eddie Rabitt's playin' tonight..........
I wish my wife would listen to this song so she would understand me, but at least my girlfriend listened to it and understands to be " hush hush" not out loud.
This was a LONG time ago, but I had a dance partner that LOVED this song, (as I did,too-) and we danced our ASSES off to this great song, and many others by E.T.C. and I swear, sometimes people would CLEAR the dance floor to watch us dance! I felt like a celebrity ! Anyway-- E.T.C. was (still is, I'll bet-) an awesome singer, and some of the BEST times of my life were spent dancing or listening to him sing! I sure do miss hearing him on the radio- I just hope he's happy & doing well- gotta go---
@ramlinrose2 hey..try a Cd with everyone he sings.."The Essential.Earl Thomas Conely" There isn't 1 bad song out of the 20. Really.....it's all good. d
My dad worked with ETC at the mill here in Portsmouth, OH in the 70's. He tells some great stories of Earl playing and singing in the locker room on his breaks.
I love ETC still to this day..He is the best!!What a wonderful and smooth voice he has..This is what country music is all about..Country today has gotten away from this kind of music..Exception Blake Shelton!!
What a great song-- really speaks the truth for a lot of guys. Sure wish they made'em like this nowadays- ETC had such a great voice...great music....WOW!
Maybe not its touch, but more like its roots. If George Strait started out today, he probably wouldn't have the success he's had. :( A LOT of TRUE country singers out there, but mainsteam radio won't play them, which is a real shame.
I remember this song in 1989 ,..It was one of those Country Songs I really like,......

Increasin'ly, Earl Thomas chose outside material to record. This 1 was written by Thom Schuyler. Hit #1 in Billboard, 6-17-89. God bless!
