You have enspired me to build something similar, I have a vertical boiler and twin cylinder engine. My boiler is a Sentinal type designed for top fire however the previous owner struggled to fire it. Could I aks if you are firing with coal or gas, the reason I ask is it appears you have clamped up the firehole. Martyn
