I knew Jimmy Hughes once, he preached at my old church on a few occasions. Great guy. I'm an atheist now, but i believe everyone's good inside. When government and money and political interests and guns intersect, good people usually end up being the pawns who kill and die. His ministry now feeds and financially supports large groups of families in the honduras, why put him in jail now? what does it prove?
Besides, U.S. tax dollars will go to feeding and holding him. waste of money.

I had the PLEASURE of meeting Jimmy in March of 2009 on a mission trip to Honduras -- he is such a good man! He has changed SO MANY lives! HE provided a home for a 11 year old MOTHER who was rapped by a family member, he has helped so many people escape addiction, rescued children from abusive situations, and so much more! He is also under arrest for 3 counts of murder, and 1 count of conspiracy to commit murder. He wasn't too nice to me when I met him because he knew that his past was catching up to him. Being Christian does not mean you are absolved for all you've done in your life in a court of law.

So if someone kills your family member tomorrow, they never catch them, they never turn themselves in and you go 28 years with no justice for your precious loved one, do you think that when that person is caught 28 years later that if they have been doing some good things in the name of God, they should no longer have to pay for the crime they committed- killing your family member?! You obviously don't have a clue.

@MsOnchi he wasn't aiming to kill that ladies father but one man but he didn't care, they saw his face and he killed them regardless. being a christian doesn't mean you can murder innocent people and be forgiven for it. it takes time for people to forgive others and that's what it will take for her to forgive him

I dont know if he is going to stay in jail but what I do know is that God is with him, and that for the last 28 years because of the mercy of God he was not in jail and in this 28 years he has been a good man that has worked so hard for drug adicts, children who lost their father and mother because they were in drugdealing, etc,. So God works in ways we don´t always understand.

Christian or not, Jimmy still has to pay for his crimes. Being Christian does not let Jimmy get away with murder. Also, wouldn't a Christian at least say sorry to those he's wronged? He refused to say sorry to both myself and Fred's son when we met him, instead, he yelled at us. That's not very Christ like if you ask me.
You can't take what the Bible says and twist it to fit what you want it to say. Faith without works is dead.

he told the truth (im assuming) when he confessed to being a hit man. so we know that already. over here in the united states if your proven guilty of murder then we put you in prison b/c its possible that you may kill again and also b/c someone paid with their life!! In this case 3 people lost their life....just plain common sense. im sure child molesters get saved and forgiven but we cannot just let them go like nothing happened!

im a Christian and i know he's done some great things for people in Honduras, but arent we supposed to be for truth and justice? these people were murdered and now have family members that LOST them. desert LOST a lifetime of knowing her father!!! does that count at all for anything?? im not condemning Jimmy..he's innocent until Proven guilty. But come on?? hes a CONFESSED HIT MAN! and if was only lieing about that.. then im sure his attorney will bring that point up on court day, we shall see

Its sad that Reverand Jimmy has to go through this. But I believe he shall surpass this "desert" the same way he was victorious over his son's horrible near-death incident. God has been using him by being a major influence in the present Honduran situation.
He shall surpass this and he knows he has literally thousands and thousands of people praying for him.
We shall see the hand of God in this situation.

I think a common misconception among people coming here that know Jimmy is that I'm an atheist or something. None of you know my heart or where I am with God. You all seem to think I 'need God". Wouldn't you just be shocked to learn that I'm already close with God and attend church 3 times a week? Wouldn't you be shocked to learn that I have my church praying for all of you and that my church supports the law? Try not to judge me when you know nothing about me.

I´m writing because 11 years ago I was in drugs, gangs and a lot of problems. Let me tell you that the person that helped me get out of that world was Jimmy Hughes. He´s a man of God, a warrior of God. Please touch your heart and hear my point of view. You have to realize that if Jimmy is at Jail, you will have your satisfaction but while he is there many people is not receiving the Lords word through him.

I'm glad you're not into that stuff anymore. As far as receiving the Lord's word, pick up a Bible, read it. As I've said MANY times before, just because someone claims to be Christian does not mean that they don't have to answer for crimes they have done in the past. Becoming Christian is not a "get out of jail free card"

He is also under arrest for 3 counts of murder, and 1 count of conspiracy to commit murder. He wasn't too nice to me when I met him because he knew that his past was catching up to him. Being Christian does not mean you are absolved for all you've done in your life in a court of law.
