Sherlock has this strange ability to wrap itself around you and totally envelope you in this strange world where you actually notice things and since I started watching it I can't remember how I managed without it. Now whenever I'm sad or angry or depressed or just feeling like giving up I watch it and revert back to the first time I saw it and I feel so happy that these episodes are still there-still one constant medium to rely on. And the fandom makes me feel loved and like I belong somewhere.

My theory: Sherlock IS NOT a fake. I think he faked his own death because he was bored of always been solving mysteries and wanted to live a quieter life. And he said he was a fake so people could stop talking about him and stop believe in him. Also, even if he thinks he's a fake, John's still sad about his friend's death. Sherlock has no friends. Just one.

You see, the plot of the entire story has to do with a man who solves mysteries to distract himself from the boredom of real life. One villain (Moriarty) shows him that he isn't as high up as he thinks himself, and he gives up on the very purpose of his life? I think not. Also, the original sherlock books tell us that he does so to save his friends' lives.

I can't thank you enough for uploading the soundtrack. I don't have many favorite TV shows, but the instant I saw just the commercial for this series I was hooked. I have now watched both seasons (several times) and the soundtrack won't be available to purchase (I'm in California) till late March. This is beautiful, but my favourite version of this theme was the one in The Hounds of Baskerville, when Sherlock is standing on top of that boulder and looking across the moor. It's mainly guitar, and it's short, but oh so gorgeous!

I dont mean this to offend anyone but I think Benedicts facial features are not perfect but THAT is exactly what makes his so attractive. NOBODY looks like him. AND I think its safe to say that he is the Best Holmes this world has ever seen. Wonderful performance, its a rare case that a series gets me with the first episode. This one did.

Exactly. I mean, he has a practically noexistant lawline (It's funny how you notice people's flaws so accutely when you're drawing them :P) But he's like Matt Smith and Colin Morgan in that he's completely distictive, and also a fabulous actor. Though I still think Jeremy Brett takes home the best Holmes ever trophy. XD

I knew it! My heart just melted when he said, "Molly I need you." and his voice lowered half an octave. It's totally selfish, I know, but it just shows how good a person Molly is when after all he's done to her and how horribly tactlessly to the point of almost cruelty he's even treated her and all she has to say to him is, "tell me what I can do, Sherlock" I really hope he had an epiphany moment there. I think he did...evidence "I don't want my friends to die; John, Mrs. Hudson and Molly"

Stop this ... Freeman was great at the end, a stout military man mourning a dead comrade and friend, trying to hard to be strong but he couldn't stop the tears, and then we saw the brilliant coldness of Holmes as he watched his broken friend walk away heartbroken. Damn, say what you want about the way British drama has gone, but when we get it right, there's no match for it anywhere

@whitepanther84 Freeman was great at the end... and absolutely brilliant throughout the whole episode and show, along with Cumberbatch, who, I think, is the best Sherlock ever (no offense to any Basil fans). When British TV films a hit, they go all out, and while all my favorite shows are primarily American (as that's where I am), this very quickly made it's way to the top of my all time favorite TV shows ever!

Both Sherlock and BB are masterful works of television! Vince Gilligan and Steven Moffat have my utmost respect for doing more than justice to a generally pitiful industry
