  • @misterjack22

Hey MrJack, Thanks for the thought, but if you can really hit a baseball 450', particularly on regular basis and from different spots over the plate.... damn.... that's an art in itself!! Did you, or do you still, play competitively? All the best. Thanks for checking out Handmade Groove!! Stay tuned, Hugh - Handmade Groove

  • I just stubbled upon these guys and Ive about done worn out their videos. These guys r sick. I just signed up for u tube to post a comment on these guys. Ive never come across anything this good to post a comment about. Im an instant fan. These guys are brilliant masters of duo acoustic, though their job is to shed light not to master. Keep shedding light guys and i will keep your light shining on me

  • so....what did you guys ever name your guitars? Its just curiosity man.

  • I've never actually named a guitar. In fact, other than Jerry and B.B. King, I don't know of any guitarists who have. Do yo have any suggestions? Mildred? Ethel? Rose? Helen?

  • no suggestions, just curious if ya named them. haha

  • you guys do a lot of fish covers, how about Wilson?

  • Good call. I was listening to a great Wilson yesterday and thinking the same thing. It's not really a hard song to play and it's incredible! Thanks for the suggestion!

  • They have never done a cover by any band named fish.....

  • They have done punch you in the eye i think

  • Willie Nelson's guitar is named "Trigger".

  • Wliie Nelson's guitar was named "Trigger".

    Clapton had "Brownie" and "Blackie"

B.B. King had like 23 "Lucilles".

  • @sneakypower Jerry (and/or their makers) named his guitars.

  • @sneakypower sorry, i'm an idiot. I didn't see that you said "other than jerry"

  • @sneakypower Maude. Maude is a lovely name for a geetahrr

  • @sneakypower

    Dave! Clapton :)

  • @sneakypower naming your guitar - how bout Goldie? or Reba? reba used to be my ATM PIN number. Made it easy to remember (er, sorry, random)

  • No names for mine either... Cheers, hugh

  • you make me wanna burn my guitar. fuckers

  • excellent rendition! Hard to believe to guys with no overdubs could sound so whole on china cat! but you should dump your wardrobe coordinator :)

  • Handmade Groove Industries is an equal opportunity employer, and it would be against our workplace practices to fire Sven Jorgennleiddl, our blind and mentally arrested wardrobe coordinator.

  • and I my spelling coach? again...really great playing..

  • Dear David,

This is just the sort of thing I was talking about when I suggested you dump the tiedye and get real with me in Ninja Turtle shirts. This turtle thing will be big someday... Possibly a craze??? We have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor. Cowabunga my brother!! Hugh

  • this is absolutely amazing. 100% perfection. kudos to y'all, keep it up!

  • You guys rock.!

  • great job!!!! im so pumped to see the dead april 21st...may not be any jerry...but i feel phil and bob carry on the legacy wonderfully....might i add that its gonna be the first time seeing em...im 17 years old and i am a dead head.

  • buffalo show! warren haynes ripped on the axe

  • I drove from Kansas to Chicago to see them, I'm 13 and had to beg my dad to take me, luckly hes a dead head himself. I want to get as many dead shows as I can before they stop!

  • It feels as if I watched this a million times, and its gotten to the point where the song stops at the end, but the music keeps going inside my head. Ya know I always think of great licks for this song, but by the time I pick up my guitar I forget how it goes. Great Job...seriously!

  • Guys I have been sitting here watching your videos trying to come up with the right word(s) for your treatment of these songs... Amazing is all I can think of. You compliment eachother so well, both vocally and especially instrumentally. I can't stop listening, just phenomenal.

  • I can't think of a better compliment to receive. Thank you.

  • I would love to see you guys do Wharf Rat, one of my all time favorites. Do you guys tour? I would love to see you live.

  • thanks for the very kind words. One of us (that would be me) spazs the bridge of wharf rat such that one of us (that would be dave) keeps the video camera off when we play it. Maybe we'll polish it up for you. Thanks so much for your support.

  • Simply great!

  • This gets better every time I listen. I need a guitar buddy.

  • nice job !!!!

  • I wonder how you guys put this together. By ear?

  • Hey there abc123!

Thanks for your continued interest in the Groove. We do most everything by ear with some adjustments to key for singing ease. As far as I know, Dave never uses tab. I rarely do. The best parts of what we do in my opinion come from us in the moment. The interlude in this video is just us playing off each other until the Bobby licks just prior to Rider.

Please stay in touch, and of course, stay tuned!!

  • you guys are great. a very seamless rendition.

as a request, maybe you could post a version of the eleven? that would be a great lesson for younger musicians.

  • We have done St. Stephen> the eleven, but not for a while. Seeing as how St. Stephen is one of my personal favorites, we really should knock that out. Unfortunately, it's not on our short list for songs to post. Thanks for the reminder of such a special jam...Hopefully we get to it soon.

    David

  • haha wonderful

  • "I keep comin back to this video !! well done boys. 5 stars"

  • Im more and more blown away by every one of these videos

do you guys play shows at all?

you should be at grateful fest or some sort of dead music fest your definitely good enough

  • 5 stars

  • Guys - seriously - this is one of my favorite you tube posts. You two put out a lot of sound for a duo. Great vocals and lead work!

  • Isn't there an elephant named Babar (Fletch)?

Thanks for checking in. We never tire of hearing that one of our songs made someone happy. Have a great day.

    David

  • There is...but my "handle" on You Tube is a Fletch reference... :)

  • Mine was supposed to be a Fletch reference too!

    " I don't know, I don't have any."

    "Children?"

    "No, elephant books!"

  • Nice! Always good to hook up with a fellow picker and Fletch fan!

  • I haven't seen Fletch in entirely too long, but it is a personal favorite and I can quote it endlessly!

  • I keep comin back to this video !! well done boys. 5 stars

  • WOW! This is just fabulous! You guys can JAM! If you ever get to Pennsylvania I'll come see ya play for certain!

  • hey there BBH,

    Cheers, Hugh - Handmade Groove

  • u guys would enjoy ontario canada. also east coast of can, these days. great great job u2.

  • great post, is the jam leading into i know you rider improvised at all, or did you guys plan that all out? just curious...

  • Hey there,

Thanks for your kind comment. The jam is all improv save the last little part immediately prior to the rider intro. It comes right from the dead's transitional jam; otherwise we're just letting it flow. This version's jam is much shorter than we normally perform it as we had to cut it down to meet youtube time constraints (and we still had to cut off rider).

    Thanks for checking in.

  • you guys are amazing!!!! Go On Tour or something!!

  • I saw the Dead 37 times and you guys are excellent. I live in Mesa. If you guys ever come up to play this way, let me know. I have been to several guitar instructors and none ever want to mess with Dead music for me. Wish I could play like you guys:)

  • Hey there,

Thanks for the kind words and we will keep you posted if we ever get up your way. Thanks for your support and good luck finding an instructor in the know!!

  • I know I've listened to the Europe '72 version of this a million times and u guys are right on top of it. Keep on truckin!!

  • That's an A+ version. I'm pretty sure that that song and that version got me into the Dead. No joke! Thanks for listening.
