  • she's so cute, and she's got one hell of a voice

  • I still have this record in my record box in a closet. The 70,s were the best times ever. America loves TINA

  • Amazing Video, Tina marry me.

  • I've never heard of Tina or 5000 Volts but this is a hell of song!

  • The intro sounds like BLACK IS BLACK by Los Bravos.

  • What an incredibly powerful voice...exciting song....brings back delicious memories of hearing this as a teenager in 1975. Honey, now I'm on my way I'm on FIRE

  • was that song in any big movie?

  • was this before or after dr kiss kiss?

  • @gonkerooney This was before Dr Kiss Kiss. By the time Dr Kiss Kiss was released Tina Charles had left the grouped and was replaced by Linda Kelly as vocalist

  • man that girl was hot xxx luv ya tina

  • disco very!!!

  • Hold on whats occuring an actress called Luan Peters used to front 5000 volts.

  • Great Tune!

  • little lady, great voice

  • That's a great video and Tina Charles is GORGEOUS!

And 5000 Volts are BACK - Tina Charles and Martin Jay have reformed the group, they're on Facebook, they're recording again AND they're going to tour!

  • what is the name of the show that has that "disco" sign in the background

  • Tina Charles: small lady, great voice !

  • She was so much better looking here than she was when she went solo in 1976. I wonder where she is now?

  • A very young Tina Charles...and she is still going today!

  • Those old farts sitting down look as if they'd rather be anywhere else but where they are.

  • @safeway56 true

  • She played at 'the stiffs' convention by the looks of things!

  • I love that girl in red clapping near the end.

Such a great song and she looks so bored.

  • Later on another girl mimed to Tinas vocals (and was also on the record sleeve in certain countries), but its Tina singing the voice.

  • 5000 Volts is the name of a British disco recording act which achieved success throughout Europe during the 1970s.

The group consisted of vocalists Tina Charles and Martin Jay, with a changing group of session musicians.

    C L A S S I C

  • first band i saw live holmfirth 1975 6 was fit n gud voice

  • its not tina charles

  • @dooddenn

Yes it is Tina Charles, you obviously know nothing!

  • is that the girl that did "I Love To Love" ??

  • @denny5545 yes thats tina charles

  • sounds like "black is black" by LOS BRAVOS

  • kinda sounds like Brenda Lee

  • AWESOME NOW AND FOREVER

  • The 5000 Volts version of this song was popular in the UK and North America, but wasn't there a European group that ALSO did this song?

  • Tina Charles loved to swallow big dicks right down to the potatoes.

  • Yep, I do believe you can find almost anything on "Youtube" awesome!

  • 2':22'' ta morrendo pra bater palmas. Mulher preguisosa!!!

  • tina charles ? luan peters original singer ?

  • @bedfordcf Tina Charles was about to have a solo hit and didn't want to front the band so Luan was brought in by the time it was a hit in the UK. On "Top of the pops" you saw Luan singing her version but on the record you always got Tina's version.

  • Black is black I want my baby back!

  • @jinkjack wright!

  • 10.000 volt is better

  • Comment removed

  • The Europeans had such a good ear for music and recognized the talent of Tina Charles!

  • What a pretty and talented lady

    she was.

She even makes a 70s German

    audience look as though they

    are enjoying themselves

    no mean feat!

  • @gahctep Yeah, even the superannuated couple (the woman looks like a German Dr Joyce Brothers) look like they are enjoying it. Perhaps when Germans aren't making watches, throwing immigrants out of 5 storey towers, and building form to function they CAN relax a bit. :-)

  • She has a beautiful voice :) Very nice song!

  • haha 2:22

  • Doesn't the opening chords sound like Los Bravos' "Black Is Black"???

Why don't they get songwriting credit????

  • love Tina Charles x

  • Jeah !

  • Happy memories of a great era - sadly missed. Thanks for posting.

  • go Tina go....

  • Too great! I listened to this song a dozen times a day when it came out- 30 plus years ago? I hadn't heard it since then. Excellent to hear it again.

Thanks a ton for uploading this.

  • There were very few white voices like hers in that golden disco era. Lots of good black ones (e. g. Maxine Nightingale, Thelma Houston...) but hardly any white ones to write home about. Plus, hers does even sound as a black lady's voice.

  • cinco mil voltios, es un`poco mucho

  • This is a young Kelly Marie

  • thats Tina Charles isnt it not that blonde lady. where was the blonde lady??

  • @Forestamtul

The blonde lady was Luan Peters who performed as the singer for the band when they appeared on Top of the Pops, even though Tina Charles provided the vocals for "I'm on Fire." Tina replaced Luan officially later.

  • @smegweevil Oh ok thanks ;for replying. I didnt realise that.

  • She maybe is "cute" and "great" but the shocking new thing for a 70s' European song were the lyrics bewitching this openly. How many of us did in those days realize what it all was to be about? May God bless you all!

  • what horny lol

  • A fabulos record Tina rocks on this brill thanks for posting one of my 70s favs.

  • Black is black,

    I want my baby bac...

    ...I'll get mi coat.

  • ha ha dreadedlurgy :) lol

  • Wow...I never knew that the lead on this underrated song was Tina Charles! Her voice sounds raspier than her traditional hits. I also notice how the older folks in this video waited patiently and acutally liked this performance. Disco music really did cross over generations unlike today's pop music.

  • what I never understood is that they didn't show or let Tina perform her own song!I mean,if anyone can remember, there was all of a sudden some blond girl in the front with a see-through shirt or blouse on?BUT with TINA's voice,so yeah, playback!PLEASE! I don't know, but even if Tina didn't have size s or m,she looked beautiful and she had 1 HELL of a voice! So please,record-companies,rather an L or xl size please with beauty and a original MEGA voice? Thanks! TIna because you were TOP in every way!

  • @bibiJ63

You don't find much cuter or more adorable than Tina Charles - ask any red-blooded male (or female!) around in 70s Britain!

  • Oh yes, I do remember this one! I heard it on American Top 40, A weekly program that was aired across the USA, & here in Vancouver Canada I picked it up by tuning in KJR seattle on sunday morning. It definetly wasn't played here locally, like a number of other hits I heard. In a couple of cases I went south of the line to pick up on 'em since record were the thing to have back when. As much as I loved this disco song I never picked up on it. Thanks for posting!

  • que buena cancion

  • A serious dose of the clap!

  • she is fuck all like kelly marie ffs get a grip you lot

    she was awesome.

German music shows were/are completely different it showed they were enjoying themselves!!!!!

  • you sir are a fuck wit get a grip

  • Tina Charles and Biddu. Enormously influential win.

  • why do German music audiences feel it is necessary to make this ridiculous clapping to every single song they hear ?

  • @markdelaney Haha true. This HAD to be stated.

  • rhythm less sou less country

  • Tina is a blast of course what energy xxx.

And I'm sure I saw someone clap in the audience.

  • the crowd looks like they'd rather be anywhere else...

  • Comment removed

  • lol 2:22 :D :D :D

  • :D как в Афоне

  • Tina was probably thinking: "Hey.. when I'm in Germany, I'd better wear this big-ass eagle on my chest." :D

It didn't work though... the crowd wasn't going to be moved, no matter what.

  • this lass was a babe in the 70s, reminds me of the days when i was working on cubbins's super speedway on the fair in the late 70s early 80s

  • Can anyone help me,and tell me what happened to Tina After her solo or 5000 Volts career?Great Lady,Fantastic voice!

And I thought that and think still that way from the first time in the 70's,I saw her on TV!Just wonder what's s'he's doing now??Thanks,to anyone who can help.

    Greets from Amsterdam-NL

  • amazing song tinas vocals are awsome

  • for her^^

  • Comment removed

  • I fell in love with her two weeks ago.Stupid isn´t it :) ???

  • I fell in love with her in 1976!

  • Tina Charles is great and also Biddu. some melodies related to "Black is black" by Los Bravo. great song great singer.

  • shes so hot =)

  • ta xoxox

  • 5000 Volts is great!

  • any other good songs of them ?

  • i think they only did one other song after this one...dr.kiss kiss it was called

  • very nice!! =) the song and the singer XD

  • Tina Charles is great

  • Lovely Tina Charles :-)

  • i am fire classic...exellent song the years 70

  • looks like she's playing to a librarians convention.... boring duds!!! great song by a great looking gal!

  • Wow!....I soo didn't know they were from Germany (?)!!! ...and that they were white! This's not a problem, they just sounded different than they looked. Igot the 45 record of 'em when the song 1st came out in '74...great song!

  • That is Tina Charles the lead singer who sang I Love to Love LOL

  • Though Charles provided the vocals, she was not at the time publicly acknowledged as the group's singer, and on the band's 1974 appearance on BBC Television's Top Of The Pops, singer/actress Luan Peters fronted the group. However, the publicity surrounding the revelation of Charles' contributions to the group gave her solo career a boost......5,000 Volts are British and Not German LOL

  • They were not from Germany.

  • Great. Sounds like Black is Black. Always impressed by her voice, quite unique and pretty powerful.

  • The music sounds like black is black, but her voice is something else, just brilliant.

  • Love this, thank for posting. Yeha.

    Fantastic, yah

  • super star years 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please...Call to fireman.

  • Great song,great singer .

  • Fantastic! Thanks for posting!

  • tina yor so ho

  • Comment removed

  • When this first came out Luan Peters mimed to Tina's voice - like Tina wan't lovely enough! :) Crazy!

  • WOW

Check out the "KAti és a Kerek Perec: Lángolok" hit, which sounds identical..."jó veled...ha úgy érzed hogy éget úgy éget a vágy ez a tűz"...etc

  • This is awesome! When I was a kid my brother & I ran across this on a 45 that belonged to our parents & loved the song.

Don't know what happened to the 45, but never thought I'd hear this song again.

  • she's difrent her .. littel bet crazy . but so so sweet and lovly

  • ciaoooo

  • One of disco's most powerful voices...

I also loved Kelly Marie's voice

  • i have the lp with them running across the water & lightning striking them..ive put it on c.d.

  • Great song from '75 and wow Tina Charles is smokin hot. I like how she shakes her stuff, love it how her boobs bounce up and down. Lovely. If I am correct, when they went into the studio to make the 5000 Volts album, Tina Charles was no longer with the group and the new singer's name was Linda Kelly. So the album version of I'm On Fire with Linda Kelly is different than the original single version with Tina Charles.

  • I also have the american release of the single- Look Out I'm Coming. Again, this version is different from the version on the album. The single version is a little faster and uptempo while the album version is not as fast and plods along a bit. So the version on the single is better. It's very confusing, I don't know if they decided to remix the song for the single release or if the single version is sung by Tina Charles and the album version is sung by Linda Kelly.

  • I don't think the 5000 volts album was ever released in the states, the only version I know of is the British/european release. I think the album might have been released in Canada also. As far as I know, the album has only one version with Linda Kelly as the singer. Tina Charles sings on the single version of I'm On Fire and perhaps some of the other singles also.

  • Fantastic performance, are her parents present in this video, it would seem so..

  • good song to remember

  • Pendejetes alemanes.!!!

  • Her energy is great, but the audience sucks!!!

  • I love her energy she's great!!!

  • FAAAAAAAAAABULOUS song. I still have this 45 and the version by Tina Charles.

  • That is Tina Charles singing.

  • Best of the best!!!!!

  • What a song! They don't make them like that anymore! :-(

  • Tina Chales looks fabulous!

  • Yea thought nothing of her at the time, but she definetly has something about her!!

  • TESEKKÜRLER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Japanese guy is saying this:

Thanks, it made me remember my youth. This song is never forgotten, they should've given up making records. And a warm thank to you.

  • Oh actually: they SHOULDN'T have given up making records...

    Sorry.

  • Great video & song - see also Sheila B with - Quel Temperament De Feu (1976) loving them both!!!

  • Perfect!

  • great song..rockz

  • OHHHHHHHHHH i love this song !!!!!!!!

  • Great voice and dead sexy with it!

  • Great song ... really shows of Tina's amazing voice.

I have never seen this song on video b4 ... thanks 2 all those german shows we get to c some of these 70s songs when videos were rare.

  • Have you noticed how some of those in the audience there look totally disinterested? Or could it also be because they don't understand English? :D DISCO was a German programme.

    Ciao for now............

    Annie :D

  • lourd lourd !!!!! aie aie aie !!!

  • When 5000 Volts appeared on Top Of The Pops in 1975, Tina Charles was replaced by Luan Peters, because, allegedly, Tina Charles was regarded as being not sufficiently glamorous. In 1979, Luan Peters achieved fame playing the attractive Australian guest in the Fawlty Towers episode "The Psychiatrist".

  • Sad but after what happened in the 80s & particularly the early 90s (ie Milli Vanilli,Black Box)not surprising.

This clip she looks quite beautiful ... but compare to the clip from "tinas177" ... amazing that different camera angles & top can make such a difference!

  • When comparing the two clips, you're assessment is absolutely correct! In 1976, when I worked at Harrods, I watched Tina Charles recording a promotional video for "Dance Little Lady Dance". The recording was made in the food halls (which struck me as an unusual location) but the single was a hit, reaching the UK top ten!

  • I'd bet this song was performed by a guy ,but is a girl

  • Can some very kind person send me the chords/chord pattern to this song please..

Much appreciated!!!...If somebody has the original sheet music?

    Stralight321

  • Brilliant. She should stick the 5000volts into that group of people sitting down talking.

  • hahaha thats a good one!

  • You're right, it is a good one!

  • Tina en todo su poder 5000 volts.

  • ah, quanti bei ricordi, ragazzi.......grazie

  • i love this song! :)

  • another thing to say is that his concert was bugged... the way she sings it is exactly how it sounds on the album. basicly she is lip singing her own song. its not a bad thing tho... artists do this when they are not feeling like their voice is all there.

  • great voice!

  • Extraordinario.

  • 5000 Volts used a sample from Los Bravos - Black is black.

  • i thought that back when the song first came out good to see others think so

  • Yes, well, it's too good of a riff to not be used again, like "Louie Louie" was used again in other songs.
