Bundy was sick, not evil. Killing him may have been justified, but it's better to know that we killed a man who was sick instead of thinking we were fighting evil. Personally I don't have a problem with his execution if it is beneficial to society, which I guess it was. But it wasn't justifiable in the sense that he was evil, and it was some act of righteousness or something to put him to death.
Frankly, I think killing Bundy was setting him free.

However, he claimed to have committed "many murders" that he wouldn't talk about. Many bodies were never found and it's hard to say how many people this guy killed. Some people estimate 100 or more.

He knows what he's doing is wrong but the issue is that he has no ability to care or empathize. Helping him would be dangerous because he could commit murders in the mental asylum that he would be put in. Once a serial killer, always a serial killer. Death was the only way for Ted.

I am sure that sometimes it's difficult, but after all he's done, people are rightly angry and quite frankly there are a lot of people out there who empathize and know that it could have just as easily been their own family members. In the US, we are a generous people and kind and understand, but there are limits and when you cross the lines that we Yanks set, we get furious.
