I love this record. It was released in the UK in February 1966 but I dont think it charted, to our shame. I heard it on the pirate Radio London, a great station for hearing all the brilliant American records we would not have hears otherwise.
@janettwinkle It seems a LOT of songs that never made it to the Beeb and other "authorised" stations were played on pirate radio... For instance, Gary Lewis and the Playboys were EXTREMELY popular in the US and Canada, but apart from their being played on pirate radio, they didn't make a dent in the UK charts...
It was released on Abnak 109 in 1965,and later released on HBR 454 in 1966.The HBR release is the one that charted, according to Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles book.Hope this helps.

This song is from around November of 1965! This is the better 45rpm version here. The album stereo version is different.
The organ is louder on this one.
My copy is on the HBR label.
Shivaree is great!

This lp is SO hard to find! The 45 not so much. Great song, their Abnak material is great as well.

I'm reading the comments and I can't tell if this song is from '66 or '65. doglips says '66. Goldbug says '65. Who's right, newlyweds?

This is a great great record, but this performance is NOT live.

I totally agree; just wish it lasted a little longer!

One of the most perfect and original records ever made. A monster classic!!

One of what would seem as a handful of 1965 groups that performed regularly,
LIVE. Of course, instant credit to LIVE '65 Rockers, Yardbirds, Rolling Stones,
Lovin; Spoonful, some others, too! Enjoy the real performance.

Absolutely loved this song back in '65 and still do. Seems to me it has been very underrated.
