what I find funny is that the actress that played Vasquez, Jenette Goldstein, isn't even Latino, nor is her complexion that dark. Why not just get a Latino actress? Hollywood does this a lot. Heh, have you noticed that for some reason Jeanette Goldstein (Vasquez) and Mark Rolston (Drake) were not listed in the film's opening credits.

Ricco Ross (Frost) was though, perhaps because he seemed to have some relative seniority amongst this corps of space marines, plus he was given some rather fairly golden lines while he lasted for not all that long really in this film.

Goldstein was relatively unknown when she did Aliens. I'm not sure about him, but in an interview she said it was her first movie and she didn't have an agent when she got the part. (She was a stage actress.) The casting call was done in the UK. She said the agents normally negotiate for who gets top billing and she had no idea about the whole process. Luckily, Goldstein was so great that people watched the end credits to find out who played Vasquez and then her career took off.
