It's a fun game, a great game, not one of those that players wish to suck all the fun and life out of in order to be 'the best'... such as Quake Arena. @Chnswdchldrn I don't think carnage pays much attention to comments, so just to give my 2 cents: Generally the fact that jumping causes you to move in a predictable arc makes you easier to shoot then if you stayed on the ground where you can instantly change direction at any time. As far as I've observed, comp players almost never jump if they're engaged in combat.

Only 5 of the 9 classes are mainly used in comp. play is not because they're the only classes that we think are "fair", we find them as the most versatile for more situations. Every single class is used at some points in Comp. Play. I have personally used all 9, well not in one match. We find it most useful to have always 1 Soldier, 1 Medic and 1 Demoman. 1 of those Sollys may go Heavy, or he might stay Soldier and let 1 Scout go Heavy. It's about versatility.

Maps are different, comp players only play at best balanced ones.

Critical hits are random "insta-kills" and doesnt show your skill in any way.

Be warned though it has different crosshairs for different weapons. The pistol, scattergun, and shotguns pretty much have the same crosshair, but the other weapons have different ones.
