Any amp company can get massive distortion out of their amp. The true art, is getting an incredible clean tone. The cleans on these two amps is tremendous. Very reminiscent of the old Dual Recto MkI clean channel. The 6550's (just like the coke-bottle-sized KT88's) allow for even more headroom and bottom end then the standard 6L6.

I got a Krankenstein plus running the dime cab with the texas heats, any one that is thinking about getting this set up, all i can say is just do it, you will never regret it.

The stein and its matched cab is truley amazing, but my one tip is to go for the chrome grill on the head and the cab, it takes the package to a whole new level of wicked cool

on the krank forum, we like to paint the speaker board red to match the Rev or green to match the Stein, one guy has his white to go with the toltex on his and i have my Rev Jr cab with a purple backboard

it really makes the speakers pop out and looks really bad ass

Additionally my sound differs from this posted in video, Mine is more open, agressive, kinda punchy 5150 style - try it with different setups you will get amazed, btw frien of mine has Mesa DR in rehearsal room, its also great amp, but not as clear and tight as Rev+ You dont get too much highs you just need to learn how to use knobs well :) Im one of not many users having this amp in Poland and my friends get eyesbrow rise in excitement when they hear my Rev+

Those who bash those amp really got no idea what are they talkin about. All I hear is only Marschall is best, Mesa is best etc... Have you ever sit at this amp and tried it with different cab, guitar? Im sure not, whats more, you got no idea how touchy is Sweep knob, it takes just a bit to change whole sound of amp with one single touch of it. And Im not from States, it was really difficult to get any good review of it in Europe before i bought. Now Im happy i got sound between JCM800 and 5150.

They sound like ass unless you have the master volume on at least 5.

And even then, it's way too trebley/middy. Cuts through everything.

Leads sound like shit on Kranks. That's the only way to put it.

If you are playing deathcore and stuff and don't play past the top 3 strings, then this amp will satisfy you (playing at only loud volumes) but if you are a lead guitarist, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Not only that, but the dirty channel has this really hollow sound to it.

So I was also interested in getting a new amp and I think this is gonna be it. I was looking at the new Diamond Nitrox and its clean channel sounds horrible and the high gain channel doesn't sound as clear as this krank plus. Dude krank effing plus is soo sick!
