the 6.0 is by FAR, the meanest sounding motor ford has ever made.....I drive a 7.3IDI, and it sounds great, but it's nothing, compared to THIS.

ok idk if you can help me, but when i start my 04 excursion in the morning its a bit jumpy on the idle and sometimes dies on me, but once its all warmed up it runs like a champ, can someone help me plz thx, O and i have a hypertech on it for like 3 months now, but this barely started this week.

@9412vpullin is it the SF3 tuner? I'm planing to get one for my 2000 powerstroke excursion too. I bought it with 80,000 miles for 7 grand, straight piped it (80 bucks), AFE intake with K&N precharger (120 bucks), and am about to order an SCT flash SF3 tuner!

reminds me of my 77 Pinto. That thing blew smoke like crazy. It needs to be leaned out, because it is running to rich. what kind of mpg are you getting? I remember my Dodge Dart ran rich and smoked when i hit the gas. i ended up driving that one straight to the junk yard after 70k mi. Also, my uncle has a case tractor that had a bad turbo and it blew smoke. is your turbo ok? It's one of the recalled Navista? the injectors were getting fouled in some.

6.0L's dont smoke at all. Only whiteish-grey haze on a cold start.

On a manual they do. I can get mine to smoke if I rev past 3k under power.

I doubt it. The 6.0L's injectors dont move enough fuel stock to smoke like that at all. That Excursion is not stock. Id believe that if it had a programmer.

Yeah they do in my stock '03 6.0. If I get it revving past ~3200 in 1st, 2nd or 3rd it will smoke like that.

I fined that hard to believe unless theirs a problem with it. If the EGR valve gets clogged or stuck they will puke out smoke. This happens a good amount on these engines. They'll be power loss also.

And if it smoked at all it would be in the lower rpm range NOT high. Heavily fueled diesels smoke, because when you floor it the injectors inject more fuel than can be burn since there isnt sufficient air at the lower rpm to burn it. Smoke is the result.

EGR smoke is normaly white or grey, thats just a 6.0 with maby a chip, all of them smoke like this at pretty much stock, with a few minor exsaust mods

As the rpms rise the turbo builds enough boost to cram enough air in the cylinder to burn the fuel completely. Their should be very little to NO smoke after 3000 rpm unless its a heavily fueled heavily build race engine. You say yours is stock. So I think you making it up possibly. I own an 03 F-250 6.0L PSD, have driven tons or them and see tons of them run. NONE of them smoke AT ALL STOCK.

So make a vid to prove it otherwise I dont believe you. Make a vid to back up your word.

when i had a 6.0 i could get it to smoke like that stock. my duramax that i have now smoked some guy out on the highway for riding my ass. i floored it from 55 up to 75 max rpm at about 3200rpm, and a big cloud of smoke out my tailpipe. no mods whatsoever. no straight pipe, no chip, 341,xxx miles, etc. it can happen and i cant record it with a camera because i never know when its going to happen or else i would.
