@dbboy79 Yeah...I quieted the bow down quite a bit since this video. I put bowjax on the string stop, which is where the thunk noise comes from. Some people put bowjaxs on the flex gaurd also.
When people say their arrows are (ex.) 340 grains..is that everything combined...lumenoks arrow/tip/ broadhead?? thanks! Im thinkin bout upgrading to this amazing bow!!...nice shot:)
@LamboCam yeah, the weight is the total arrow, fletches, field point..everything. I buy bareshafts, and fletch myself, and the weigh the arrows on a fine scale.
my dad has the same bow and he shot it from 95 yards and he still tipped th target over. than the next week he went to wyoming and shot a pretty good mulee from 55 yards with a rage broadhead and just tore it apart. =]
@95ULTRAZ Dude, bowtech has made amazing strides in technology and are fearless when it comes to making new technology. Sometimes, they mess up with it, like the recalls on the limbs a few years back. However, sometimes they hit the mark and make outstanding bows like the invasion and the destroyer series that are far better than anything mathew's has ever put out. Mathew's, millions in marketing, Bowtech, millions in actual technology.
Since this video was made, I have completely worn out the string and replaced string and cables with Tropy string & cables. And then I paper & yoke tuned it, and gained arrow speed. However I bought heavier arrows for elk hunting (423 gr Victory VForce). Now my arrow speed with the 423 gr arrows is approx 310 fps.
BTW I just noticed several folks asking where in Oregon. This range is in just outside of Wren, Oregon, which is approx 7 miles west of Corvallis. It's owned by the Benton Bowmen.
The DL of the bow is set at 30". The bow was set up at 63# (it has 70# limbs), shooting 346gr Victory VForce HV arrows. I'll let you do the math, but to say the least, it's the fastest bow I have ever owned.
for my birthday i was planning on getting a bow, to me the compund bow is a very cool and techniqal bow but also they are very expensive, but they are also convient, you can find arrows and stuff for them at dicks sporting goods which i am at frequently, but longbow look really awesome and like they require more skill, but to the point, i am 14 turning 15, 6' 0" and 180 lbs, i was thinking about a compund 55-75# or a longbow 70# please tell me what i should get and from where
@you78mas the average pace of a human from heel to toe is roughly 30-36 inches. 1 yard=36 inches obviously, so count how many steps he takes...its a fast bow.

not bad.. and i guarantee you can do better. i just bought a Bowtech SWAT recently and once i got used to the bow and the feel my groups improved tremendously. once you get settled in you'll shoot lights out
the purpose of the wrist sling or whatever its called is so you can shoot with your hand wide open not gripping the bow. im sure your group will tighten up if you shoot that way.
better get some string silencers if you are gonna try to shoot an elk at 50 let alone 80yrds ! Decent shooting & nice bow but, I shot one at our pro shop & it`s one loud bow.Especially the flex roller guard. Maybe some minnie limb savers on the roller guard. Thats why I like my Guardian dead quiet with NO string silencers or stabilizer 393grn arrow 280fps.
I found one here in indiana for 850 going to shoot in in morning and if I like it will buy it I'd much rather bowtech than matthews not say matthews is bad just not a fan.
80 yard shots are tough, have you been able to kill anything that far? why did you pick the destroyer? Im thinking about getting the Z7 or Destroyer, whats your take?
I missed a 70yd shop at a 6pt bull 2 yrs ago. I was sitting in an awkward position and shot low. The next day I shot a 5x6 at 40yds. Last year I shot a 6x7 bull at30 yds.
I evaluated several bows before picking the D350. The Z7 was among bows evaluatedits a smooth shooting bow, but D350 faster.
I shot several arrows through each bow and chronied, and tested for grouping. D350 fastest and best grouping (I thought). You can see my D350 threads on ArcheryTalk.
@FSUNole05 i have the same decision as you between the same two bows. i actually want this one more but im holding off on it. too easy to jump string off the track with the cam design. i have a feeling bowtech knew about it before the bow was released to the public but did it anyways. or maybe thats just the cynical me. regardless thats too much money for me to gamble on. i dont think it takes that much hand torque to do it either
Based on reviews of all the forums, It seems that Z7 is the best bow out right now. Z7 runs around 750.00 here in Georgia. The destroyer is little more expensive. I have Hoyt Alphamax 32 and its awesome but I would go with Mathews based on their reputation. Good luck deciding.
Those arrows are Victory VForce HV 300s 346gr shooting 333fps at 63Lb 30" DL.
The only problem I'm now having is getting the 0.30" Dia arrows out of 3D targets. I just bought some fatter LineJammers, but haven't tried them out yet. Still gotta fltech...etc.

Are you trying to say the bow is noisy? And Yes, it's called a sight. The brand is Spot Hogg.
TozerBGood 2 years ago
@vybzshakur Any bowtech with center pivot limbs will be quieter (in my experience). Try an admiral or a captain.
