wow i hate wen ppl compare different guitars where they are TOTALLY different. each type of brand/model preference is going to vary from player to player depending on their style. i personally prefer Les Paul style guitars. but if another guy hates LPs but loves Strats. doesnt mean hes an idiot for liking one and not the other. he/she would prefer what works for his/her preference/style. there is no "better" brand or model. btw I like Teles too =)

One isn't better than the other. I own a Gibson LP Custom, and Studio, and I also have 2 Teles and 2 Strats, and they're just completely different. You can't say one is better than the other. One might be better for playing a certain genre like icy said, but they're two different types of guitar altogether. It would make more sense if you said G&L is better than Fender or vice versa or something. I'd disagree but opinions are what they are.

They're both good guitars, the les paules and the telecasters. i've a les paules studio gibson, a les paules custom gold top gibson ant two good fender stratocasters an a good fender telecaster. i can't say wich is the best. a telecaster isn't going to touch in gear things, or in sustain, or in hard metal solos. but a les paules isn't going to touch the tele in treble or in a clean, bright sound. you can only compare guitars, when they are the same model...
