ty for this video, right now i'm beating myself up trying to do realistic portraits so i can learn subtleties of portrait art and later hopefully have skill to characterize people this way
i think i no more then you, im half way through a national diploma in art and design. caricature is not appealing to me, it shows no talent. i make my own manga characters and scenes btw, thats thats just a hobby of mine.
you are a moron. first of all mr. art major, maybe you should take a walk to the english department and learn to spell. second of all, i have been a caricature artist for seven years, and a portrait artist prior to that and for you to say there is no talent involved is asinine and you should look seriously into disembowelment you moron...
just because you are half way through a national diploma program does not mean you know more than another person. It takes a lot of talent and skill to do caricatures well. I am not a fan of manga, but that doesn't mean that there is no talent or skill behind it. You are way to passionate about this mans talents or lack there of. I hope you put this much energy into your studies and your own art work.
@MrLawliet1992 caricatures are not the same thing as a portrait.... people who draw caricatures can usually draw portraits as well but they aren't even remotely the same thing so to say that someone who is a caricature artist doesn't have the skill it takes to draw a portrait is a moot point... they aren't suppose to look like portraits.. actually portraits are easier to draw than caricatures b/c it doesn't require as much creativity to exaggerate features and still make it look like the person.
@MrLawliet1992 Have you noticed that caricature artists get degress under Finearts, AND it's usually at schools that don't tolerate caricatures, so they actually can draw realistic drawings, and potraits. I don't know if you know that, so before you criticize and say they can't do stuff like how you like it, make sure it is true.
One last thing I will say on this matter. If you did know as much as you say you know then you would know that it's spelled K-N-O-W. Not, NO. And if you knew as much as you say you knew, you would know that you are suppose to capitalize the first letter of the first word of every sentence. Also, don't be so judgmental on someone else' art work or style. As a person that is half way through a national diploma, you should know that artist do what they do. They don't chose it, it chooses them.
It's called a Markette. Made by Dixon Ticonderoga. Unfortunately, very hard to come by in the United States, as they're distributed in Canada. The market is awesome, as your line can go from broad to thin very quickly.
Copic markers are also very good and you can get those here in the states. I like them. But they can not replace the old Design Markers. I loved using those. Especially back in the '80's when I was in art school. They were great, and made you feel good, he he he. Anyway, Copic are nice, the nibs are a little long for my liking, but you can learn to control them nicely with a little practice. And I like the fact that they are refillable.
your a manga/anime artist so you dont know what the hell your talking about, broaden your artistic horizons, educate yourself, and look at anatomy books then you will understand.
trust me i no more then you think, im half way through a diploma in art and design. i no how to draw a face. that the nose on that is way to big and no lips is that puckerd. this is just terrible.
it's a caricature you fucking retard, its not supposed to be in proportion, ever notice how the head is like 800 times larger than the body in caricatures? they're fun drawings
what a stupid comment, i do both caricature and portraits and i can see by your astute comment that you know (this is how you spell know btw) absolutely nothing about any type of art.......and i think i KNOW more about it than you considering i have been a PROFESSIONAL artist for 8 years you fucking retard. seriously DIE
Caricature is just and excuse for people who can't draw well? Well tell that to the late, great Al Hirshfeld, the patron saint of caricatures artists. He made an amazing life for himself as a caricature artist, his work started out at $10,000 per piece. yes that a ten and three zero's before the decimal point. Also how do you think Claude Monet started out as? A CARICATURE ARTIST! I can go on and on. I too am a caricature artist and I can draw like there is no tomorrow.
It's not unrealistic, it's disproportional, there is a difference. And here is an FYI, our brain recognized caricature (the distortion and exaggeration before it recognizes the exact. This was scientifically proven, I can even tell you where I got that from. But as far as unrealistic, didn't you say you draw Manga?
well I have a bachelor of science degree in art education and graphic design. I have been drawing all my life, both portraits and caricatures. Caricature is a very sincere and rather difficult form of art. To do caricatures at a amusement park with nothing but a marker and paper takes a considerable amount of skill and know how. To do caricature well you have to know the right proportions in order to distort and exaggerate that persons features and still keep their likeness in tact.
whats science got to do with it?. im just saying its a bad way of drawing a face. doesnt show enough likeness. just a cheap style people hang on there walls of funny family drawings.
haha your just upset you can't understand the art of Caricature. Anyone can draw a realistic picture well you might as well call it a photo, but it takes some special to blast out some beastheads.
@MrLawliet1992 Ha Ha before you can even do good Caricature you need to do realistic portraits! Good luck getting enough work with spending hours on a realistic portrait!
HI, i have about 6 months left in my design/art degree... and its called a caricature.. it's a style of art same with anime and life drawing.. so please don't bash people for their styles of drawing... The fact that he makes people enjoy and laugh due to his art makes him a way better artist then you probably ever wish to be..
i have the right to not like it. just get over it. its nothing like anime or life drawing. its a completely differnt style of art which i do no find appealing. lots of artists make people happy and enjoy art and there are way better artists then this dooche.
@MrLawliet1992 Just a reminder they give me less then two minutes to film this don't you know I would rather spend alot longer time on this stupid little videos, was kinda thrown into it last minute!
