@64MojoMan Yeah, there is something you're missing, I'm afraid. The point of this video is to show how broken Kong's Omega Red (and by extension his other characters) were at the point of this video. All the stuff you see Omega Red doing shouldn't happen. The coding is messed up to the point that this Omega Red cannot be killed. Even a joke character like Rare Akuma which is purposefully broken with tons of one-hit kills cannot beat him. Look very carefully at Omega Red again.
@CrackaStoleMyBoat Oh? We must be talking about people who don't make characters that can do perfects on Rare Akuma, pull off specials while trapped under the moon, and regularly heal back a third of their health.
Rare Akuma is deliberately designed to be unstoppable. Omega Red is not. Omega Red won. THAT IS NOT GOOD DESIGN.
@Izayoiaki24 you're right it isn't good design. any unstoppable character that can be beaten is badly designed. its a good thing kong was around to expose the flaws in akumas design
Dang, towards the end of the second round it really seems like Rare Akuma is being played by a human because he goes all balls to the wall throwing out supers and chaining them to other supers, and canceling supers into supers, and spamming the same super multiple times, and all this other crap.
Man, maybe it's a coincidence, but the AI seemed really ticked off that Omega Red just wouldn't go down.
Yeah, it's from Megaman Zero, the first one. It's from the Remastered Tracks and is called "Intermission". You can find that in some Megaman websites, but I believe the easiest find would be at Rockman World (google it).
As for Akuma, no, he's not canceling himself out. Usually whenever he hits his supers, to be blunt, there is NO ESCAPE. It's something with the coding in Omega Red itself that goes along with his Hard AI that's doing it.
Thank you for the first answer. As for the second, I'm speechless at the fact someone could makes such a broken fighter. Coder must have fought too many SNK bosses....
...how is it possible to code something that doesn't die from all of that? Futhermore, how do you justify it without saying "who fucking cares, it's just a game"?
Very true, I agree. However, here's the thing. Some of us do delete characters that we don't like, but for those who don't know what they are getting into, some may feel it best to show a character's flaws so that they can avoid it and not download it at all before doing so.
Some may listen, some may not as I can't force people not to pick up a character. Besides, once I knew about Kong's stuff, I deleted them immediately, but that was after this video for awareness sake.
Rude? I didn't think you were. After all, you're speaking your mind, and there's usually no problem with that (keyword: "usually"). So don't worry about that.
As for the MANY videos made after seeing the first, think of it as a "protest" of sorts. When one person starts one, those that agree with said opinion will want to express that sentiment. Unfortunately, it's usually in the form of multiple videos.
I don't see anything too bad about that, but it can get annoying after a while.
Hate to admit it but, having never played Mugen, pretty much ALL the vids of gameplay look like this to me. This was a bit louder, though. With more planet-dropping.
I can't blame you on that opinion. Some MUGEN videos are nothing more than overly glorified fights like the one you saw.
However, might I suggest that you look at some other fights other than those of this type. You might be surprised how many decent looking fights there are without seizure-enducing stuff.
Then again, meh. It's just not your cup of tea, perhaps?
Well, I'm a die-hard supporter of games that allow user-supported content, so I love Mugen in principle. And a lot of the special attack animations are quite witty. It's just that when there are several in quick succession I find it hard to imagine much interactive gameplay.
Then again, I suppose most players are going to be uploading clips in which the animations are shown off more than in typical play.
Well, you got to realize that this is one of my older videos. I'm just now trying to improve video quality since I was limited in options when I started recording and learning in the process.
As for the gameplay, the point of the video isn't as much gameplay as it is more of a display of how ridiculous that Omega Red character is. Rare Akuma was more of a "joke character" at the time as a parody of the over extravagant characters that are circling around this gaming engine.
if you guys dont know how long it takes to make characters and how hard it is shut it kong is good at what he does you guys are just seeing the hard/expert AI if you dont like it take the AI off it can be done for those who dont know
The thing about it is not the fact that Kong makes bad creations, it's the fact that there are some programming flaws that should not exist in fighting characters.
If his hard AI was like his medium AI, then things wouldn't be so bad. But there are so many unfair mechanics in his hard AI, that it is worth mentioning.
Maybe I shouldn't say that you shouldn't download any of Kong's stuff, but this was meant do serve as a warning as to how asinine the hard AI is.
Damn. He's one broken MUGEN character. If he can beat Rare Akuma then he's definately broken-MAX. If I ever got him I would have to break my own computer
Kongs Omega Red Just made me Sad in The Pants. I knew His Characters were Super Cheap, But Damn. He Defeated The All mighty Rare Akuma. I Had his Cyberbots Characters at one point, but I deleated them Due to Cheepness. I still need to get rid of His Pocket Characters.
unless i'm missing something....nothing is happening. they just keep going back and forth

For me, It's looks like Omega Red was specially desined to beat Rare Akuma, the way he evades his most cheapest specials.

Where is this opening theme from, I reconize it from somewhere...a megaman zero game? And is there anywhere I could download it?
Also: is Akuma actually canceling himself out of his own supers or was it Omega's AI? I can't really tell from all the flashes.

All you're doing is promoting Kong's work.

I know that came off as rude, but that is true. I remember when I played the game youtube was helpful for finding characters that didn't suck.
It just bothered me someone would put up a video complaining about crappy Ken guy, then put up ten more videos featuring crappy Ken guy.
