  • Meanwhile redeem the time, catch the golden moments as they fly.

    - John Wesley

  • Guide me is ok I suppose but to be honest I prefer " I Was Glad" simply because it doesn't bring out the Welsh nationalists with their whining, self-pitying whinging. If you don't like the English or the monarchy then f*ck off. Like the Scots, you won't be missed.

  • what was the first song?

  • @churchorganfan - The first piece is "I was glad when they said unto me (we will go into the house of the Lord)" by the English composer Sir Charles Parry. It's fantastic, especially when sung by this choir in such a setting. What a great piece to have playing while you walk up the aisle.

  • splendid , DIVINE !

  • no one can do it like us

  • A beautiful Welsh hymn! I love to play this on the pipe organ. Arglwydd, arwain trwy’r anialwch!

  • wonderful. simply wonderful. o_o

  • great hym.........!.

  • feel like Christmas is approaching !

  • "I was glad" is also the entry piece for the coronation. For that occasion it will be paused for the "vivat regina"/"vivat rex", whatever is appropriate.

  • The entry piece, a choir anthem, is I was glad (Psalm 122 (excepts) ) to music by C.H.H.Parry

  • Idiot, dieser Kommentator!

  • Does anyone know the title of the hymn sung while the bride walks through the nave?

  • Who are the people at 7:46

  • @flebbinon1

Head of the RAF I think.

  • @flebbinon1 Air Cheif Marshall Sir Stephen Dalton, Cheif of the Air Staff.

  • The STUPIDITY of CNN commentators. It only shows the shallowness and lack of intelligence of the mundane people this network has engaged to pass on their meaningless trivia! The beautiful and meaningful text of the hymn, chosen because it has meant so much to the couple and their families, as well as to the people of the UK (especially Wales), becomes as diluted broth at the babble of the commentator.

  • @Stgeorgealbany why does it insult the welsh? an english imposed monarchy may also insult us ;)....we are lucky that Charlie boi hasnt been a twat at the end of the day so we not too bothered.

  • You are right, the CNN reporter should be shot. He should have known it is the Welsh national hymn. It is one of my favorites.

  • @261joanne , I agree with you. This was stunning and they will make pretty babies!

  • @261joanne

AFAIK the official welsh anthem is "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" aka ""Old Land of My Fathers"

you mean "Cwm Rhondda", the original of the hymn sung ? :)

  • CNN hates God. they equate a praise and surrender to the Sovereign God to a rugby. I wish they knew better.

  • our anglican worship centre 13 mile make dis song a favourite song...so powerful when it sung with all ur heart.....

  • ja sehr schön!! besonders die 3.strophe!!!

  • this commentator is insulting my welish ancestors of saying its a rugby hymn! go to hell pierce morgan

  • @MrSalama77 He means it's associated with rugby in Wales not that's it's actually a rugby song. Still an awkward moment to tell everyone though.

  • Guys this is not a rugby song its a hymn for all protestants. damn this man shoud be an atheist a pagan! please could someone shout his mouth! He insults our Lord jesus! got to hell stupid commentator!

  • get your tits ou for the lads

  • Such a beautiful hymn. Such a great choice.

  • The descant and organ arrangement for the last verse was fantastic. Magnificent sound.

  • @stephen4355 , Yes indeed! The organist was great and I am not sure of his name. He should be commended.

  • @march131958 @stephen4355 - the organist is Robert Quiney - Sub-organist for Westminster Abbey

  • Perhaps should title this ' I was Glad ' And 'Guide Me, OThou Great Redeemer ' to avoid confusion.

  • yikes the hand holding was so tight that i though that it was going to snap

  • Can you believe the idiocy of the commentator? Where do these people come from? Certainly not the planet Earth. He even seems to make it abundently clear that he wants to be heard rather than the hymn. Off with his head!

  • It looks as though her father's nearly breaking her fingers at the altar his grip is so tight. Maybe it was his way of saying, "It's not too late to back out!!!"

  • not only does he talk over it (sounds like Piers Morgan on CNN-who actually has some nice sentiment at times)-but describes it as a famous Welsh rugby anthem-as if that's where it comes from or something

great hymn-great communal sing which has died out in this country and most places-what only 5% even go to church in UK anymoire-sad

Have to say least interesting camera work of any major event-and only one feed so all had the same how many views of Elton John do we need?

  • Amazing Song..."Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer".. ;)

  • @jalclarge , It is ironic the same Abbey same hymn where they are having a wedding vs. a funeral. God, rest the soul of Diana. She would be proud of him and probably love Kate. God bless them.

  • That commentator should be sacked.

  • @JusticeRW hahaha Yeah, I think so..

  • @JusticeRW I totally agree with you. What a twab to start talking when everyone's singing...absolutely no respect for the hymn!!
