I want tell, that he's talent.

  • oh...cool

  • Tak tohle je frajer...a hlavně dobrá písnička...

  • what??in english pls

  • Just amazing Anoop!

  • Anoop was hands down the second best male vocalist this season.

  • yeah behind danny. listen to danny gokey in "you are so beautiful", and "jesus take the wheel". he does jesus take the wheel better than the original writer, your winner of season 4, Carrie Underwood

  • No, I meant behind Adam Lambert. Lambert's vocal prowess is actually unprecedented on the show. Danny's a fine singer, but there's no chance in hell he can compete with Lambert in the vocal department.

  • Huhhh? I don't get it...? Why are people talking about Adam and Danny in an obvious Anoop song? ANOOP IS AMAZING!

  • I guess it depends on the vocal category.

  • Vocal skills don't know category. A better singer is a better singer.

  • I'm sorry but I disagree with you. Adam has the better range, Danny has the baritone and Anoop's voice is just smooth. In music, they actually classify the vocals of people.

  • You don't actually know too much about singing, do you? Can you actually compare Pavarotti to Britney Spears and claim "vocal category?"

Adam's vocal superiority goes far beyond his range. In fact, his range is only an indicator of his technical mastery. He's not only got seamless passagios, but his mixed register is one of the best I've heard. He also has every resonator open and booming.

Danny and Anoop are fine singers, but they simply can't compete with the absurd skills of Adam.

  • Pavarotti and Britney Spears are not in the same category and that is my point. Pavarotti sings classical music while Britney sings pop music. When talking about comparisons, one would compare Pavarotti and Josh Groban because they sing on the same genre and are both tenors. On the other hand, Britney Spears could be compared to Mandy Moore because they also sing on the same music genre and are both altos. You can't simply compare Adam and Danny because they are different in genre and vocal type

  • Wow, ok. You're a dipshit. You have no idea what you're talking about. This convo is over.

  • Thanks for calling me names! You do not have to resort to namecalling if you cannot elaborate on your standpoint. As ILoveMyAD suggests you can send me a personal message if you want to salvage your pride by actually saying something other than to tell me I'm a dipshit and "ignorant when it comes to singing".

  • I would respond if you made any sense at all. But, your previous post was quite possibly the biggest facepalm I've ever seen about singing. Honestly, go tell that to any vocal coach or experienced singer, and see if they won't get a laugh. You DO realize that the mere existence of American Idol contradicts everything you said...

  • in what way does it contradict everything I said? In fact, the top 2 contestants in almost every American Idol Season have different vocal types. AI is a popularity contest. They do not really compare the voices of contestants. They only compare them if contestants have the same genre and vocal type (e.g. Danny and Matt - soul). However, they rarely do that. Judges don't compare the voices of Anoop and Adam because its different. Hence, they pick on a contestant's song choice and stage presence.

  • Uh, no. How many times has Simon said to a contestant that he/she isn't as strong vocally as the other contestants. He's not referring to their styles or singular performance. He's talking about their VOCAL ABILITY, which is largely independent of their vocal style.

Having different styles only changes small things such as phrasing, or vocal embellishments. But, the core of singing remains the same - the projection, the power, the resonance, the connection of vocal registers, etc

  • Vocal type as I have repeated differ from one person to another and from one genre to another. In response to your reference to Simon, Simon is not a vocal coach orl teacher but he is a brilliant strategist and marketer; that is why he is in the music industry. Have you noticed that he always ends up eating his words whenever he comments about Kris and Anoop having "weaker" vocals? Do you realize that when he tries to look at contestants from a marketing perspective he always gets it right?

  • Define "vocal type." Being a natural baritone or a natural alto isn't a "vocal type." It's simply the range of your chest voice, which doesn't play that large a role in a person's vocal range, given proper training.

And Simon may be a producer, but he knows quite a bit about singing. The man has a music ear that rivals that of seasoned musicians.

And seriously, you need to go learn about the subject before you talk about it.

  • I would like to define it but would you care to give me your own definition first before you go and brand me as someone who has zero knowledge on the subject. Care to elaborate?

  • Why would I define it? I wasn't the one who used it to stipulate that different "vocal types" can't be compared. My entire point is that there may be differences in people's voices such as tone, timbre, texture, but it doesn't mean they can't be compared as far as singing ability goes. In fact, anyone can sing any genre, and that vocal skills can't hide behind this so called "genre."

  • Oh, btw...your logic:

Kris Allen is not a better singer than William Hung (look him up if you don't know him), because you can't compare the two. One sings Latin dance songs, while the other does acoustic rock.

  • Come to think of it, William Hung has a Chinese accent while Kris does not. Do they have the same vocal type??? As for Simon being a producer and a music executive because he has "a music ear that rivals seasoned musicians", that might go on to mean that I might be the person judging your next big star despite your proclamation that I have zero knowledge on the subject.

  • What the hell does accent have anything to do with it? They sing different types of music (and I'm taking a guess that you mean vocal type by the music they sing), therefore, using YOUR logic, they cannot be compared.

So, do you agree that Kris Allen is NOT a better singer than William Hung, because no comparison can be made?

  • Come on, do you really think William Hung sings Latin music? Obviously, William Hung and Kris Allen do not sing songs that belong to the same genre. Besides, have you actually heard William Hung sing in Chinese? Do you know that the Filipino singer featured on Oprah has been taught the proper diction when it comes to singing because her accent is different? Accent influences singing because there are times when singers pronounce certain lyrics wrong. Thus, it ends up sounding different.

  • Honestly, how is ANY of what you said relevant?

Let's get back to basic. Your argument is this.

"Two singers' vocal skills cannot be compared if they have different vocal types."

Now, in order for this debate to function, you must define "vocal types." Understand that?

  • Curious Bronnxmrc43926, How does Adam's voice and vocal skill, compare to Pavorotti's? in ur estimation?

  • Pavarotti was quite possibly the best male classical singer in the world. That man's high C was really something to be admired. And while Lambert is an excellent vocalist in his own right, there's no way I'd put him in the same sentence as Pavarotti. Classical singing has to take note of many more vocal qualities than pop music, so overall, it takes more training to be able to perform a classical piece than your run of the hill pop/rock song.

  • 2 me that was a good answer. Next question(s) 1.: " How many vocal classes do you think any one of these people had, before they became legends in their own time: " Muddy Waters? BB King? James Brown? Mick Jagger? Janis Joplin? John Lennon? 2. Did you see the UTube video on James Brown and Pavorotti called: " James Brown and Luciano" ( I have it on page 2 of my favorites, if you can't find it. ) Would you agree that each is successful in his own genre? Training and vocal skills aside.

  • 1. Great singers never stop working with someone to improve or maintain their voices. However, it does come to a certain point when the instructor stops being an instructor, and start becoming someone who works with the singer. For instance, I know for sure that Josh Groban has had quite a few renowned vocal coaches. Does he still have more to learn? Sure. Can he get by just training by himself? Probably.

  • 2. I just watched the James Brown and Pavarotti performance, and have to say that it's without a doubt that the two are on top of their respect genres.

  • Do you feel/think/know that James Brown took vocal classes? or any of the following performers: BB King, Muddy Waters? Willie Nelson? Mick Jagger, Janis Joplin? John Lennon?, Van Morrison?

  • Sorry, I forgot to ask you what genre you would consider James Brown to be in.

BTW.. do u really come from the Bronx? I used to live on Fordham Road.
