I want to fry with a Cattle Prod every Liberal including beast women Nazi bitch Schultz every time they come up with the LAME ASS "We just didnt know how bad things were." Do Liberals have a string in their back like a doll----you just pull it and out comes the rehearsed nonsense ?
Here's my impression of Ms. Schultz's debating skills "... the failed economic policies of George Bush the failed economic policies of George Bush the failed economic policies of George Bush ... What were George Bush's economic policies? Capitalism, as I recall. Schultz is such a poo poo head.
To Schultz point, the actions of the current administration are offsetting the trend of the previous administration's policies. If you inherit an economy losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month, it is indeed a good thing to stop that drain and reverse it, and naturally this doesn't happen instantly so you end up with higher unemployment (exactly as you would have no matter who had become president).
@dtorfleming Yeah, the previous administration and it's policies tha tforced Sub-prime loans and it's banking deregulation. Oh, wait, that was all Clinton.
WOW, Obama is doing the same thing now.
Maybe he expect he can do the same thing and expect a different result!
You are right about the first round of bank regelations being repealed by the republican congress and signed by Clinton. But the claim that somehow banks were forced by the government to make bad loans is just silly. Let's stick to facts.
@dtorfleming Perhaps you should refrain from using word syou don't comprehend the meaning of like "fact".
In 1995 Bill Clinton changed the regulation on the Community Reinvestment Act, these changes allowed for banks to have mergers, aquisitions and other business functions blocked if the didn't meet the quota of subprime loans.
Perhaps you could do your homework and bring real facts to the table.
Sad that you would start in with an insult. Very adult.
And no, you are simply wrong about the CRA. Most likely this is because you don't actually work in this industry and are repeating other people's errors.
The repeal of Glass-Steagall which republicans lobbied for allowed for investment and commercial banking within one company, which had been prohibited since 1933. This was the largest driver of the recent collapse.
@dtorfleming Sad that you tell someone to "stick to the facts" when you aren't using any!
The regulations put forth by the Clinton admin. allowed for public scrutiny of bank lending practices by public organizations like ACORN. Banks that fell below the level of this scrutiny were blocked from mergers, acquisitions, etc.. Banks that complied were rewarded by relaxing other regulations (reward for bad behavior). They in essence trained the banks to act irresponsibly.
@dtorfleming The sudden impact of new buyers (eventually a couple million) fuel demand and prices shot up. The original concerns about sub-prime mortgages defaulting went away because with the prices sky rocketing, if someone fell behind, they sold the home, made money and bought another one. The unfortunate effect of the soaring prices and laxed mortgage standards was that qualified buyers were forced to pay much higher prices with often more risky loans (interest only, balloon).
@dtorfleming Final straw was when gas prices shot up in 2008. Many people with subprime loans found themselves in a choice between paying their mortgage or buying gas; they bought gas! Only this time they couldn't sell the house because of the number suddenly on the market. So many of them abandoned the home and moved into public housing. This sent home values plummeting. Now those people with the balloon notes of interest only coming due owed twice the value and no one would refinance them.
@dtorfleming Now you had a second wave of people abandoning their homes but not by choice, but because they couldn't secure financing. And lets not forget all the people flipping homes, those too were abandoned.
Let's go back to Glass-Stegall: It wan't the cause of this, it was the convienient loop-hole for banks to offload these risky loans. further, the government encouraged the practice by rewarding banks for making and flipping more loans (again, govt. encouraging bad behavior).
You don't seem to be educated in this area, but rather throw all the crazy unsupported fox news accusations out there hoping they'll stick together. I've worked in this space for 20 years and all I can say is you are mischarachterizing both laws and don't seem to understand the actual market dynamics. The most obvious sign of your lack of understanding is your effort to throw ACORN in there, an organization that had no part in this but is fun for crazy right-wingers to demonize.
@dtorfleming You're again demonstrating your ignorance on this topic. ACORN in FACT was involved not only in the scrutiny of financial institutes, but actually pressured banks to increase lending practices and even filed suit against banks (CitiBank) for "Redlining" subprime applicants.
If you are in fact in this vertical, your extraordinary lack of knowledge is disturbing. You seem to be the uneducated person in this area. May I suggest you do your homework before further embarrassing yourself
"Hideous beast," OP? What a punk you are. Disagree with her politics if you want, but you're displaying exactly what so many people hate about right-wing nutbags.
@emncaity Are you kidding? She's about as attractive as Rachel Dratch, Whoopi Goldberg , or Nancy Pelosi. So I assume you think those women are 10's too huh? lol
@emncaity: Virtually everything that comes out of this bitch's mouth is some sort of jaw-dropping lie. It takes a special sort of stupid to not know or recognize that.
@emncaity No not really,I am from Florida and have listened to this Obama ass kisser long enough. I beleive she is like great pals with the other spin doctor Pelosi.
@emncaity You seemed to be offended that we said she was ugly (which she is). I posted my original comments on a blog. lol The woman straight up lies constantly just to defend failed policies and other out right lies that she and the rest of the Obama gang tell.
@emncaity Oh shut up you libtarded communist piece of shit. I cannot wait for the NWO where we can place you in a FEMA camp. Along with the Trannies, communists and low life illegals we have in my country hahahaha~ Tic Toc pony boy, just a matter of time.
@emncaity We eqau;;y hate those of you who proprigate lazy SOBs, hand outs, Illegals, ah lets see a person not qaulified to hold the presidentail seat and oh yea and ACORN that helped illegals and those not registed to vote show up at the polls! Yea what was the count now of uncovered illegal votes. Bwahahahahaha I think emncaity has a crush on once a man~
Obama is still the same anti-American leftist he was before becoming our president, and it is this rather than inexperience or incompetence or weakness or stupidity that accounts for the richly deserved failure both at home and abroad of the policies stemming from that reprehensible cast of mind And Wasserman Sultz is his willing attack DOG.
First straight-ticket election for me. And I have liars like O'Reilly and TP to thank for pushing me that way.Frst Tea Party rally; I knew. "Uh, oh; seems the undesirable racists and misers have joined, at last. Together against their common enemy: PROGRESS; spells their authority diminished and ANGER."Thanks Teabaggers and Misinformants who call the POTUS a "Monkey" and "Nazi" from one face and rip on ppl for being"Traitors" and "Commies" from the other. Lesser of two evils, it seems, again.
@CaptainJondlechit .....Progressivism is the opposite of what it claims to be. It is the essence of insanity: Doing the same old sh** and expecting a different outcome.
"Progressive" ideas are ancient ideas all founded on envy.
@baldrad1 Tell that to the Prog. Republicans of Lincoln's Party. It was okay to be a Progressive during the Civil War. Now it's stigmatized? Political sys. flip flopped many times It is completely corporatized. Super PACs take away the droll facade that you can't buy a politician, outright. THAT is what should be attacked, not falling for the same old "Divide the Voters and Conquer" techniques. I'm done cackling about partisan fodder. Lesser of two evils, but radical change is needed.
Phil English and Jack Abramoff for POTUS and VP!! What? Isn't that a winner with you Republicans? Ultimate greed and perversions running rampant. The USA a giant Marianas. Rome brought back in all it's glory. Giving your money to the GOP is like giving it to a blue haired slot machine addict. The Democratic process is attacked at every turn. Republicans have no qualms sending YOUR kids off to the desert on Oil duty while they sip some champagne on the golf course. Republicans are so creepy.
@CaptainFondleDick, get a life. If not for good soldiers doing their duty, you'd be speaking Mandarin or Russian. You sick phuck, you beat your meat in college and smoked dope while hard-working Americans did their duty.
@chkrat22 So you're going to try to spin it into a "only Republicans serve" misinformant-type situation? The Republicans are the first to throw vets into a war based on lies, with inadequate equipment and body armor; for security for independent companies like Haliburton. The first to mess with VA benefits and the first to blame everyone else for their war-mongering when the Chickenhawk/Neo Cons are proved wrong, again. Nice Beck rant, but fails to refute anything I posted.
she seems to forget / not see that we have a record deficit right now after 3 years Obama, but then again Pelosi claims that unemployment checks are the biggest job creator in our nation
This woman is completely out of touch with reality. How the hell can you rationalize valid facts like that? We are still in free fall, and the country is not better off than it was in 2009. She really needs to open her mind to the facts and not the political bias.
well since all those seasonal holiday jobs are done..seems the democrats are scratching their asses and wondering why the sudden loss of jobs....duh...
Private sector jobs are create by private businesses, not Obama. I am a business owner and I tell you right now I created two jobs this year with my company and had absolutely no help form Debbie and Obama. In fact their policies do everything they can to cripple my business. Enough is enough! Dr. Ron Paul for our next president. We can take America back from the super wealthy and super greedy. We simply have to respond.
@drfreedom11 ...thank you for your service. It takes a brave businessman to not totally fold it in the face of these Utopian imbeciles like Obama and Tiny Tim Schultz.
Scary times.....and then they inflict this scary bitch on us on a daily basis....
I love lefties. They take a college level logic course and here a few words from their professors and think they are smart. College is fantasy land. Few professors could make it in the real world. I realized six months out of college what reality was.
These people are destined for mediocrity at best, most likely food stamps and welfare checks.
@olgadel1 judge not my well spoken friend. you assume that everyone has the same metric for determining value for what constitutes a good life. more money wins. not everyone shares this idea. have you seen "barfly", circa 1987?
what have you accomplished that sets you above the bar?
@mkrulic517439 Yes I am well-spoken and highly educated. So be careful when you correct someone. I have seen many Michael Moore videos to realize that they are loaded with full-fledged lies and half-truths. No I have not seen "BARFLY". If the Title is indicative of the movie, I don't pay much attention to the inebriated and cocktail napkins, although humorous at times, do not guide my life. Drunks are not much fun to watch unless you like human tragedy. These movies are fiction.
@olgadel1 no actually the movie was based on the life of the american poet, charles bukowski (sp?). habitual drunk but that was what inspired his poetry. the point I was trying to make was that what is nirvana to one might might be the opposite for another. so dont assume that the means by which you value things is universal.
@mkrulic517439 Addictions may be Nirvana to some but usually end in regrets and tragedy. Things have nothing to do with any of this. I don't see how an intelligent person can be lazy and expect something. I know that charities that function better than our government. Charities require time and money. ? I don't see many lefties like Schultz out there. Too much lying from the Obama's and Schultz's of the world. The MSM ignore this. My values are well defined and not Public Domain.
@olgadel1 "Addictions may be Nirvana to some but usually end in regrets and tragedy."
this was my entire point. you cannot define or evaluate reward for anyone other than yourself.
obama lied. at least democrats were tricked. republicans basically tell you they are going to sxcrew you. Id rather take a chance on voting for someone who at least promises what I want to hear.
am I the only one who noticed that population increase wasn't addressed by the interviewer? I must be the only democratic non-fox viewer that watched this video.
Pic any three videos of her she says the same thing everytime.." President Obama inherited a huge problem from Bush "..I have never seen her win a debate never...She`s weak at best , its hard to beileve the democrats put up with such ignorance and pitiful representation.
@donnie55s ...she's the best they've got......on the other hand, it doesn't take much to lead Lemmings, once the key words are uttered and they're all in a trance.......
ROFLMAO!! Debbie Shultz has GOT to be related to Ed Shultz. Both are ignorant, full of shit liars! What a dumb bitch. Obama hasn't created SHIT for jobs!
@uutuber431 A live Chainsaw? How many live chain saws are there. You are ten years old? A union member? A chronic meth user? Even at ten I would expect more intellect. Something will explain your stupidity. Maybe you are just a lefty? That would explain it.
@mkrulic517439 Apparently uutuber431 lacks the understanding to make a legitimate comment.
You on the other hand seem to know what this person is saying. You speak leftie. Do you even know what hyperbolic means? Did you sit next to uutuber431 in public school? That would make you the smart kid in the dumb class!
“I think you want to say the position is hyperbolic.” No I don’t want to say that because I know what hyperbole means try Webster’s online. You are a regular lexicographer.
@olgadel1 Hyperbolic refers to something related to or in shape of hyperbola (a type of curve), or to something employing the literary device of hyperbole (overstatement or plausible exaggeration).
@mkrulic517439 Hyperbole, you have learned something. I am sure you have read further your friend uutuber and will further explain his comments. Do you care to comment on his last statement? Maybe a bottle of cheap whiskey will help or a couple of crack hits.
Facts are stubborn things. That is why DW Schultz has a difficult time explaining her lies.
@mkrulic517439 You listen to the MSM, HuffPo, Olbermann, Schuster, Schultz, Biden, Obama....... to determinewho is generous? Most families making $100K donate more than he does. You want generous how about those Obama vacations. That is pretty generous when all those people are out of work?. Please explain to us conservatives how you justify all of this?
@mkrulic517439 I believe a President once said that anybody who is taking stimulus money better not be going to Vegas. Do you think that any President that borrows trillions from the Chinese should be vacationing in Hawaii on that borrowed money? I don't pay for my vacations with a Credit Card and I definitely wouldn't use yours even if I could do it legally. Maybe send my boyfriend and daughter on another plane 4 hours earlier. What the heck if I am not paying for it.
@olgadel1 argument from analogy is a logical fallacy. that being said are you aware tarp accounts for only 6% of the national debt? bush spent more and took more vacations. unless you are in the top 2% there is no reason for you to vote republican. give me your every argument and I will shoot them all down.
since the democratic party claims to be for the "little guy" and also claims they will fight poverty and help the "little guys",how come the poverty level is literaly the same (14.2% in the 60's and 14.1% today) ? yet we spend billions of dollar with no result, which leads me to the conclusion that this party keeps those people poor and dependent on them to ensure their vote and to stay in power over them
@Hoschi0913 so you believe people want to be poor? there are a lot of variables in economics. trying to do something and failing is a lot better than not trying at all.
YOU DO NOT HAVE A MONOPOLY ON WORK ETHIC. the vast majority of democrats are hard workers. yes it is possible to be a hard worker and at the same time be sympathetic for those less fortunate that you.
YOU DO REALIZE THE POPULATION TODAY IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN THE '60s RIGHT?
no i do NOT believe people want to be poor,i believe most all people want to enrich their lifes in their own way,so the gov't "stepping" in and toss money around to "help" them, does jack shit, its more important to "create" an enviroment in which those people can persue that, give a men a fish and you feed him for a day, show em how to fish and you feed him for life,i dont do this "class" BS,its discriminating.........
......you wanna better your life, you got to do something for it and that does NOT include to hold your hands open and waiting for "bailout's",everybody has a chance, even today in this lousy conditions/policies,but you actualy got to be willing to go for it and take it,nobody hands or gives you anything in life, its on your own,its your life, dont expect a freeride, aint gonna happen
@Hoschi0913 you think you work harder than migrant farm workers? YOU DO NOT HAVE A MONOPLY ON WORK ETHIC. I work hard too but have the ability to emphasize with those less fortunate. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IVE SAID THIS.
"everybody has a chance" just not the same chance. you think paris hilton earned that money thru hard work. THESE ARE COUNTER EXAMPLES. GOOGLE: LOGIC.
we could spend money on infrastructure and put people to work. stop being simple.
@mkrulic517439 Obama just cost us 120,000 jobs by saying no to the pipeline. It also meant 20-30% lower gas prices, but who cares. What about the Boeing jobs he sent to Airbus in order to placate the idiot unions...Obama: Trying to destroy the USA in Big Leaps and Bounds.
@svvmichael1 why is the fda holding up on a thumbs up? do you know? this means you are basing your decision on half of the facts. only the pro's while ignoring the cons. that is why you and your republican friends are foolish. to say if something creates jobs it is inherently, unquestionable good and should be followed at all cost is easily dis-proven. I can give you a counter example but you are not grounded in logic.
are you aware the pipeline was not the only rider on that bill?
yeah you repeat ourself ,its getting boring, and you think the american people dont have the same work ethic ?? only your beloved illegal farm workers have it ? stop being jealouse about the Hiltons money, the Rothschild's are more wealthy, put money into the infrastructur? thats why there is a tax on the gasoline you pump, suppose to be used exactly for that........perhaps your the one that needs to "google logic"
@Hoschi0913 it seems you didnt take my advice on googleing counter example. you are willfully ignorant. hiltons money was a counter example to the idea that the rich are rich because of their superior work ethic, migrant farm workers are a counter example to the idea that the poor are poor because they are lazy. turn off fox news.
@mkrulic517439 That's a pathetic arguement. I have a friend who was a refugee from Uganda. Came to the US with the shirt on his back, never finished 6th grade.
He worked 2 jobs, went to school at night, got his diploma, got a degree, opened his first business at 24, and is now worth millions. So what is your point? Are you saying Migrant workers can't do that?
Here is a secret to life: Easy is Hard - Hard is Easy
Migrant workers can change their life when ever they want (IF they want)
@TAMPADOC64 ...and they DO, to their credit. Hispanics generally have a work ethic superior to many Americans.
What Liberals don't get is that the Hispanics want success, we see them rising (if we can stop Libs from making them permanent residents of the Liberal Plantation), and they are going to get tired of Liberals' punishing success as a main plank in the Democrat platform.
@Hoschi0913 ....Muck doesn't realize the billions that were collected over the years in fuel tax, but went into the general fund and got poured down various Utopian ratholes.... in other words, the infrastructure improvements have already been paid for...where's the money?
Muck also thinks there's a Social Security "trust fund", LOL...
@Hoschi0913 do you teach trades to underprivileged kids? I guess someone else is supposed to take care of that. its a noble idea but needs volunteers. it sure is easy to say tho. kinda like males that are pro-life. easy to take the moral high road if you cant be put in a position of single and saddled with an unwanted pregnancy. .
@mkrulic517439 ....the core of the Dependencycrat Party are public sector employees, union members (includes the latter), and any constituency the Donkeys can buy off.....example: Dependos hope they can secure millions of votes among Hispanics with a No Border policy.
Unintended consequence: as in Florida, recently-arrived Hispanics in the rest of the country are by-and-large the most enterprising; that's how they got here. They won't like Deps' PUNISH SUCCESS bee ess for long.
@mkrulic517439 ....hey, muck......Conservatives at EVERY economic strata give more to charitable causes than their Loon counterparts.
Typical of Liberals is that they wouldn't help anybody out monetarily or otherwise on a normal day-to-day basis, but they WILL pay goons to come and take a large contribution from them and others at the point of a gun. Curious.
You really need to read Charles Mamet's (Waiting for Godon) "Why I Am No Longer a Brain-Dead Liberal".
@baldrad1 It would behoove you to google the bystander apathy experiment of 1968. since you right wingers are ignorant of psychology. among other things
@olgadel1 I saw one in Mitt Romney's hands just the other day! He was chasing down a single mother with a baby in her arms while screeching "I'LL TEACH YOU TO USE FOOD STAMPS!!!" Then he sawed her in half and stomped her baby to death.
@olgadel1 Give us the Romney cyborg short circuit.. "DURP---CORP-OR-A-TIONS R PEE-OPLE..BLURP---I LOVE FI-RRE-ING PEE-OPLE---DURP---I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER MY SUUP-ER PAC DURRRRPPPP SO-CIAL-IST WELFARE SO-CIAL-IST WELFARE *head explodes*"

Christ, you conservative morons are pathetic. What she said is true. What's also true is that Obama inheirted a total train wreck of an economy, caused by GOP and conservative economic policies. The FACTS prove that out.
As a liberal, I love slamming and owning all your loser conservative asses. That goes for you too "liberaldrivel." But you guys make it easy by being so wrong.
@DrQuest44 The solution clearly is to follow the advice of Krugman and Stiglitz (sp) and 1) increase govt. spending, 2) increase tax rates on the top 5% and corporations, and 3) institute REAL financial reform (re-install Glass-Stegal, regulate CDOs). The Obama Adminstration has done some of these things, though too tepidly. The GOP is commited against these necessary actions and wants to go in the completely wrong direction.
@manhunter86 I am a business owner; I operate as a corporation. I am perfectly happy to collect taxes from you and turn them over to Jabba.
Just so you know you are being played for a fool when Krugman, Obama, Shultz, Shumer, Pelosi get up there and talk about "tax the corpo-rayshuns". I'll collect it from YOU.
@baldrad1 Given that Krugman clearly knows more than you ever will, the two of us are laughing at your piss-poor post. First, by your dopey logic, the tax rate on corporations should NEVER be raised- "they'll just pass it on to us". Unless you know SOMETHING about economics....it might be, until Corporation X DOESN'T pass along to let their prices be lower, which presumably works as they increase their market share... Just because you don't get it, don't knock those of us that do.
@manhunter86 Krugman knows much less about economics than I do boy. The guy is laughed at in all serious economic circles. His ideas have been tried, and failed, everytime. You don't know anything. You are a minimum wage guy who is jealous of hard-working people.
@svvmichael1 Yeah, the Nobel Commitee, what do they know?
Krugman has more respect than the right's economic gurus. He is spot on most of the time with his analysis. You, meantime, continue to be wrong and laughed at for Total Lameness.
@manhunter86 53 Nobel past Nobel prize winners in many areas have said they feel the poor selections of Krugman and Obama have cheapened their award. 18 have sent their awards back because of it. Krugman is considered a fraud by the economics community and isn't even considered a true economist, just a partisan hack. EPIC FAIL for you. BTW, I have created more jobs and employment in 5 years than Krugman or Obama have in their entire lives.
@svvmichael1 Hilariously wrong. Krugman has been right about most everything the past few years. He is also in the top 20 cited economists in research papers, so clearly not 'considered a fraud by the economics community'. The only charlatan here is you.
@jack24b Wrong. Krugman has been lambasted by nearly every living Nobel Economics winner. Krugman has been wrong about everything. He backed the Stimulus saying it would keep unemployment under 8%. Instead it exploded unemployment up to 10.2%. It is still around 8.5% 3 years later. EPIC FAIL. Krugman/Keynes has failed in every economic instance it has been tried. It is now proven that Friedman/Austrian/Chicago school of economics is the most perfect model and has always succeeded...
@svvmichael1 Again, nonsense. Krugman is on record in January 2009 saying the stimulus would be too small to get the economy back to potential. 1/3rd of the stimulus bill was tax cuts, mind you, so what does that say about the effectiveness of tax cuts for economic stimulus?
@jack24b The stimulus was not taxCUTS. It was specific give aways to specific leftist constituencies. Krugman said the stimulus would keep the unemployment UNDER 8% and it reached 10.2%. Utter lies from you. Krugman is considered the weakest economist of this era. The Nobel Prize has lost ALL prestige with him and Odumbass. His whole philosophy is touting tired Marxist/Keynesian mixes that have been disproven EVERY time they've been tried. George Will crushes him routinely for fun.
@jack24b Studies by Friedman, Hayek, Sowell, and Schiff will start. You know how to use google? Plus you display a very low knowledge of economics and they use fairly high-level concepts in their research.
@svvmichael1 Anyway, I'll save you the effort. Don't bother, because he never said it and in fact said quite the opposite, before Obama was even inaugurated. As for Peter Schiff, lol, he has been predicting hyperinflation for almost 3 years. Keynesian models have held up remarkably well during this recession. No hyperinflation, no soaring interest rates, nothing like what Schiff et al. have predicted
@jack24b Actually there has been hyper inflation, the government just burried it by manipulating the numbers, Haven't you noticed: Milk:30% Agricultural Raw Materials:24% Industrial Inputs Index:25% Metals Price Index:26% Coffee:45% Barley:32% Oranges:35% Beef:23% Pork:68% Salmon:30% Sugar:24% Wool:20% Cotton:40% Palm Oil:26% Hides:25% Rubber:62% Iron Ore: 103% The govt hid inflation same as real unemployment numbers. January less people working yet unemployment went down?
@TAMPADOC64 Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
@jack24b WRONG. Keynesian models have been PROVEN failures since the 1950's. High inflation is on the horizon idiot, if you can't see that you are the biggest fool alive. Read about the Weimar Republic and LEARN. The reason interest rates haven't gone up (which would actually be a positive thing) is they are artificially controlled by the FED. And most consumer data shows massive inflationary numbers in many goods over the last couple years. No one with any education believes in...
@jack24b ...Keynes anymore. He has been thoroughly debunked as has Krugman. Krugman stated the stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%. He also said it needs to be bigger (btw, where does this money come from?) to put unemployment under 7%. Gov't spending and interference in the economy has been PROVEN to reduce GDP and create longer, deeper recessions. You just need to get more than a junior high education boy. The schools in australia are obviously poor.
@svvmichael1 Krugman did NOT say the stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%, this is total crap. Maybe you should study Bruning and his deflationary policies in early 1930s Germany, and it's effects on the economy. That is the effects of Austrian economics. As for Aus, we had a large Keynesian stimulus package directed at households in 2008/09. Our unemployment rate is now 5.2%, GDP growth at 3% and budget will be back in surplus over the next few years. How's the US economy going again? Lol!
@jack24b WRONG. Krugman said EXACTLY what I said he did. 1) Why are you lying about Bruning now. He had very little effect in Germany because the Reichstag invalidated every thing he attempted within 4 weeks. Come on, you can do better than that lie. He tried to become a dictator using "emergency powers" which is the OPPOSITE of a free market environment. 2) The U.S. economy is in much better shape than Australia's. In November we'll have 255 Republicans in the House, 54-57...
@jack24b ...Republicans in the Senate, and a Republican President. Spending will be massively trimmed by Paul Ryan, and a pro-growth, pro-small-business, pro-middle-class tax system will be unveiled. Then Medicare, Medicaid, and Soc Sec will be dramatically overhauled. By 2015 we'll be balanced, and by 2018 we'll have solid surpluses and GDP growth around 4.5% and unemployment will be under 5% by late 2014. Your country has massive debt from leftist mismanagement
@svvmichael1 Lol my god...I'm starting to think you're a troll. You HAVE to be. Australia's net government debt to GDP ratio is 6%. This is 'massive debt from leftist mismangement?' LOL. After this and your continuous lies about Krugman, I'm done arguing with someone so obviously retarded.
@jack24b Everything I've said about Krugman is true. Prove me wrong. Ooops you can't. And it is you who are a troll. Australia's debt will be 21% of GDP by 2015. And Australia has the HIGHEST household debt to GDP ratio in the world. That will burst soon. Meanwhile your country is just not able to create wealth like ours, and has a low-tech economy by comparison. Add in the threat that China may wish to expand into your land, and you are not doing that well. And the only reason...
@svvmichael1 How is it possible to prove someone didn't say something? Lol now I'm convinced you're just trolling. Glad that's settled. Have a good one.
@jack24b You are the troll bub. You have been making false statemnts the whole time, like the Bruning lie, and the several Krugman lies. Only a complete idiot doesn't know Friedman, Hayek, and Sowell have destroyed all credibility that Keynes ever had. They have completely invalidated all his theories. That is why Friedman is considered the greatest economist of the last 100 years, if not of all time (along with Adam Smith).
@svvmichael1 Lol more nonsense. Google 'The Obama Gap' from Jan 2009, (youtube won't let me post the url) Krugman clearly says here the unemployment forecasts are optimistic, and that the stimulus would be too small. Friedman definitely was one of the greatest economists of the last 100 years. I wonder if you agree with his views on Austrian economics and the gold standard?
@jack24b Where is there any austerity in Europe. Not one country has actually implemented it. And Bruning tried, TRIED, to slash spending (which would have made the economy expand) but he was stopped by the Reichstag. You need to learn some history fool. And australia the best country. LOLOLOLOL. It is a decent vacation spot for a week, and that is all. We have a $16 Trillion economy, you have a $1.5T (in aussie dollars which are worth much less than ours).
@svvmichael1 Australia has managed to deleverage just as fast as the USA except for one key difference...our economy isn't in the toilet. Great economy, low unemployment, excellent weather...arguably the greatest country in the world, mate!
@jack24b Over the last 30 years the US GDP has increased on avg 3.88%/yr and australia's at 3.1%...and with such a small population that is pathetic. Every southern state is a better place than anywhere in your whole country. You can't even defend your country.
@svvmichael1 Lol, why so much hate for the south? I would've picked you as someone who would love the place. Also, 1 Australian dollar = 1.0715 U.S. dollars. If slashing spending made the economy expand, Greece would be the richest place on earth!
@jack24b which one do you live in? Greece has 64% of its workforce working for the gov't. Greece has not slashed spending, that is why they may not receive help idiot. They have over-spent for decades, it doesn't change in a week. Wow, you really are an idiot.
@svvmichael1 Greece has cut the nominal value of government spending year over year. That is austerity in the strictest sense, yet GDP continues to decline. Hmm, maybe cutting government spending in a depression is a bad idea. This is over almost 3 years btw not 'a week', lol.
@jack24b Umm, EVEN FDR's SecTreasury said that spending during a depression was a bad idea. FDR's SecTreasury criticized the New Deal in 1939 saying that all that spending and they still couldn't get non-farm unemployment under 20%. Do you understand? You have lost. Greece will not turn around in a week.
@svvmichael1 "I think the Austrian business-cycle theory has done the world a great deal of harm. If you go back to the 1930s, which is a key point, here you had the Austrians sitting in London, Hayek and Lionel Robbins, and saying you just have to let the bottom drop out of the world. You’ve just got to let it cure itself. You can’t do anything about it. You will only make it worse." - Your pal, Milton Friedman
@svvmichael1 Friedman was opposed to the government regulations as part of the new deal, not the spending on programs such as the WPA (which incidentally is where he got his first job) and other direct government spending,.
@jack24b Friedman was a keynesian until he started a huge research project in the early 50's to prove Keynesianism was GREAT. What he found, though, was that Keynes philosophy was detrimental to the public good, exploded deficits, and condtricted growth. That is how he moved to proving that supply-side economics is the best method for low unemployment, high growth, and upward mobility of people to higher income levels. You lose badly every time.
@svvmichael1 LOL, no, he in fact came to the conclusion the monetary policy and tight money (a phrase that gets Austrians aroused) caused the Great Depression. Friedman spoke favourably of the WPA and other programs set up to reduce the societal dysfunction caused by mass unemployment.
@svvmichael1 "The other part of the new deal policy was relief and recovery … providing relief for the unemployed, providing jobs for the unemployed, and motivating the economy to expand … an expansive monetary policy. Those parts of the New Deal I did support. (…) Because it was a very exceptional circumstance." - Your pal Milton, via your butt buddies at Mises.org
@svvmichael1 By the way, are you Baghdad Bob? You follow the same script. Pure, unadulterated nonsense followed by a premature declaration of victory. LOL. I always wondered what you got up to after the fall of Saddam.
@svvmichael1 As for supply-side economics, even bigger LOL. The biggest 'supply-side' tax cut in history, the Bush tax cuts, produced the worst average post-recession growth rates since WWII.
@jack24b ...we have debt is because of leftists trying Keynesian ignoromics for 80 years. Here is a stat you can find online. Since 1900 the USA has run up $15.4 Trillion in debt. In years where both houses were controlled by Democrats the debt was $13.9T, in years when at least the House was Democrat it was $14.8T in debt. By contrast in years when both houses were Republican there was $.2 T (that is $200 billion) in debt, and when the house was Repub $1.99T ($1.2T this year...

DAMMITPANDA 2 weeks ago
To Schultz point, the actions of the current administration are offsetting the trend of the previous administration's policies. If you inherit an economy losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month, it is indeed a good thing to stop that drain and reverse it, and naturally this doesn't happen instantly so you end up with higher unemployment (exactly as you would have no matter who had become president).
dtorfleming 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming Yeah, the previous administration and it's policies tha tforced Sub-prime loans and it's banking deregulation. Oh, wait, that was all Clinton.
WOW, Obama is doing the same thing now.
Maybe he expect he can do the same thing and expect a different result!
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@TAMPADOC64
You are right about the first round of bank regelations being repealed by the republican congress and signed by Clinton. But the claim that somehow banks were forced by the government to make bad loans is just silly. Let's stick to facts.
dtorfleming 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming Perhaps you should refrain from using word syou don't comprehend the meaning of like "fact".
In 1995 Bill Clinton changed the regulation on the Community Reinvestment Act, these changes allowed for banks to have mergers, aquisitions and other business functions blocked if the didn't meet the quota of subprime loans.
Perhaps you could do your homework and bring real facts to the table.
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@TAMPADOC64
And the CRA had no quotas. Go check yourself.
dtorfleming 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming Sad that you tell someone to "stick to the facts" when you aren't using any!
The regulations put forth by the Clinton admin. allowed for public scrutiny of bank lending practices by public organizations like ACORN. Banks that fell below the level of this scrutiny were blocked from mergers, acquisitions, etc.. Banks that complied were rewarded by relaxing other regulations (reward for bad behavior). They in essence trained the banks to act irresponsibly.
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming The sudden impact of new buyers (eventually a couple million) fuel demand and prices shot up. The original concerns about sub-prime mortgages defaulting went away because with the prices sky rocketing, if someone fell behind, they sold the home, made money and bought another one. The unfortunate effect of the soaring prices and laxed mortgage standards was that qualified buyers were forced to pay much higher prices with often more risky loans (interest only, balloon).
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming Final straw was when gas prices shot up in 2008. Many people with subprime loans found themselves in a choice between paying their mortgage or buying gas; they bought gas! Only this time they couldn't sell the house because of the number suddenly on the market. So many of them abandoned the home and moved into public housing. This sent home values plummeting. Now those people with the balloon notes of interest only coming due owed twice the value and no one would refinance them.
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming Now you had a second wave of people abandoning their homes but not by choice, but because they couldn't secure financing. And lets not forget all the people flipping homes, those too were abandoned.
Let's go back to Glass-Stegall: It wan't the cause of this, it was the convienient loop-hole for banks to offload these risky loans. further, the government encouraged the practice by rewarding banks for making and flipping more loans (again, govt. encouraging bad behavior).
TAMPADOC64 2 weeks ago
@TAMPADOC64
You don't seem to be educated in this area, but rather throw all the crazy unsupported fox news accusations out there hoping they'll stick together. I've worked in this space for 20 years and all I can say is you are mischarachterizing both laws and don't seem to understand the actual market dynamics. The most obvious sign of your lack of understanding is your effort to throw ACORN in there, an organization that had no part in this but is fun for crazy right-wingers to demonize.
dtorfleming 2 weeks ago
@dtorfleming You're again demonstrating your ignorance on this topic. ACORN in FACT was involved not only in the scrutiny of financial institutes, but actually pressured banks to increase lending practices and even filed suit against banks (CitiBank) for "Redlining" subprime applicants.
If you are in fact in this vertical, your extraordinary lack of knowledge is disturbing. You seem to be the uneducated person in this area. May I suggest you do your homework before further embarrassing yourself

@mkrulic517439 Yes I am well-spoken and highly educated. So be careful when you correct someone. @olgadel1 no actually the movie was based on the life of the american poet, charles bukowski (sp?). habitual drunk but that was what inspired his poetry. the point I was trying to make was that what is nirvana to one might might be the opposite for another. so dont assume that the means by which you value things is universal.

yeah you repeat ourself ,its getting boring, and you think the american people dont have the same work ethic ?? only your beloved illegal farm workers have it ? stop being jealouse about the Hiltons money, the Rothschild's are more wealthy, put money into the infrastructur? thats why there is a tax on the gasoline you pump, suppose to be used exactly for that........perhaps your the one that needs to "google logic"
have a nice day
Hoschi0913 1 month ago

TAMPADOC64 1 month ago
@TAMPADOC64 ...and they DO, to their credit. Hispanics generally have a work ethic superior to many Americans.
What Liberals don't get is that the Hispanics want success, we see them rising (if we can stop Libs from making them permanent residents of the Liberal Plantation), and they are going to get tired of Liberals' punishing success as a main plank in the Democrat platform.

Christ, you conservative morons are pathetic. What she said is true. What's also true is that Obama inheirted a total train wreck of an economy, caused by GOP and conservative economic policies. The FACTS prove that out.
As a liberal, I love slamming and owning all your loser conservative asses. That goes for you too "liberaldrivel." But you guys make it easy by being so wrong.
manhunter86 1 month ago
@manhunter86 So the solution is to take a train wreck of an economy and make it worse?
DrQuest44 1 month ago
@DrQuest44 The solution clearly is to follow the advice of Krugman and Stiglitz (sp) and 1) increase govt. spending, 2) increase tax rates on the top 5% and corporations, and 3) institute REAL financial reform (re-install Glass-Stegal, regulate CDOs). The Obama Adminstration has done some of these things, though too tepidly. The GOP is commited against these necessary actions and wants to go in the completely wrong direction.
manhunter86 1 month ago
@manhunter86 I am a business owner; I operate as a corporation. I am perfectly happy to collect taxes from you and turn them over to Jabba.
Just so you know you are being played for a fool when Krugman, Obama, Shultz, Shumer, Pelosi get up there and talk about "tax the corpo-rayshuns". I'll collect it from YOU.
Do you know that, Genius? Didn't think so.....
baldrad1 3 weeks ago
@baldrad1 Given that Krugman clearly knows more than you ever will, the two of us are laughing at your piss-poor post. First, by your dopey logic, the tax rate on corporations should NEVER be raised- "they'll just pass it on to us". Unless you know SOMETHING about economics....it might be, until Corporation X DOESN'T pass along to let their prices be lower, which presumably works as they increase their market share... Just because you don't get it, don't knock those of us that do.
manhunter86 3 weeks ago
@manhunter86 Krugman knows much less about economics than I do boy. The guy is laughed at in all serious economic circles. His ideas have been tried, and failed, everytime. You don't know anything. You are a minimum wage guy who is jealous of hard-working people.
svvmichael1 3 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Yeah, the Nobel Commitee, what do they know?
Krugman has more respect than the right's economic gurus. He is spot on most of the time with his analysis. You, meantime, continue to be wrong and laughed at for Total Lameness.
manhunter86 3 weeks ago
@manhunter86 53 Nobel past Nobel prize winners in many areas have said they feel the poor selections of Krugman and Obama have cheapened their award. 18 have sent their awards back because of it. Krugman is considered a fraud by the economics community and isn't even considered a true economist, just a partisan hack. EPIC FAIL for you. BTW, I have created more jobs and employment in 5 years than Krugman or Obama have in their entire lives.
svvmichael1 3 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Hilariously wrong. Krugman has been right about most everything the past few years. He is also in the top 20 cited economists in research papers, so clearly not 'considered a fraud by the economics community'. The only charlatan here is you.
jack24b 3 weeks ago
@jack24b Wrong. Krugman has been lambasted by nearly every living Nobel Economics winner. Krugman has been wrong about everything. He backed the Stimulus saying it would keep unemployment under 8%. Instead it exploded unemployment up to 10.2%. It is still around 8.5% 3 years later. EPIC FAIL. Krugman/Keynes has failed in every economic instance it has been tried. It is now proven that Friedman/Austrian/Chicago school of economics is the most perfect model and has always succeeded...
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Again, nonsense. Krugman is on record in January 2009 saying the stimulus would be too small to get the economy back to potential. 1/3rd of the stimulus bill was tax cuts, mind you, so what does that say about the effectiveness of tax cuts for economic stimulus?
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b The stimulus was not taxCUTS. It was specific give aways to specific leftist constituencies. Krugman said the stimulus would keep the unemployment UNDER 8% and it reached 10.2%. Utter lies from you. Krugman is considered the weakest economist of this era. The Nobel Prize has lost ALL prestige with him and Odumbass. His whole philosophy is touting tired Marxist/Keynesian mixes that have been disproven EVERY time they've been tried. George Will crushes him routinely for fun.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Care to provide a source for your assertion about Krugman?
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Studies by Friedman, Hayek, Sowell, and Schiff will start. You know how to use google? Plus you display a very low knowledge of economics and they use fairly high-level concepts in their research.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Huh? I asked you to back up your claim that Krugman 'said the stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%'
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Anyway, I'll save you the effort. Don't bother, because he never said it and in fact said quite the opposite, before Obama was even inaugurated. As for Peter Schiff, lol, he has been predicting hyperinflation for almost 3 years. Keynesian models have held up remarkably well during this recession. No hyperinflation, no soaring interest rates, nothing like what Schiff et al. have predicted

@TAMPADOC64 Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
marionetemanJ 2 weeks ago
@jack24b WRONG. Keynesian models have been PROVEN failures since the 1950's. High inflation is on the horizon idiot, if you can't see that you are the biggest fool alive. Read about the Weimar Republic and LEARN. The reason interest rates haven't gone up (which would actually be a positive thing) is they are artificially controlled by the FED. And most consumer data shows massive inflationary numbers in many goods over the last couple years. No one with any education believes in...
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@jack24b ...Keynes anymore. He has been thoroughly debunked as has Krugman. Krugman stated the stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%. He also said it needs to be bigger (btw, where does this money come from?) to put unemployment under 7%. Gov't spending and interference in the economy has been PROVEN to reduce GDP and create longer, deeper recessions. You just need to get more than a junior high education boy. The schools in australia are obviously poor.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Krugman did NOT say the stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%, this is total crap. Maybe you should study Bruning and his deflationary policies in early 1930s Germany, and it's effects on the economy. That is the effects of Austrian economics. As for Aus, we had a large Keynesian stimulus package directed at households in 2008/09. Our unemployment rate is now 5.2%, GDP growth at 3% and budget will be back in surplus over the next few years. How's the US economy going again? Lol!
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b WRONG. Krugman said EXACTLY what I said he did. 1) Why are you lying about Bruning now. He had very little effect in Germany because the Reichstag invalidated every thing he attempted within 4 weeks. Come on, you can do better than that lie. He tried to become a dictator using "emergency powers" which is the OPPOSITE of a free market environment. 2) The U.S. economy is in much better shape than Australia's. In November we'll have 255 Republicans in the House, 54-57...
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@jack24b ...Republicans in the Senate, and a Republican President. Spending will be massively trimmed by Paul Ryan, and a pro-growth, pro-small-business, pro-middle-class tax system will be unveiled. Then Medicare, Medicaid, and Soc Sec will be dramatically overhauled. By 2015 we'll be balanced, and by 2018 we'll have solid surpluses and GDP growth around 4.5% and unemployment will be under 5% by late 2014. Your country has massive debt from leftist mismanagement
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Lol my god...I'm starting to think you're a troll. You HAVE to be. Australia's net government debt to GDP ratio is 6%. This is 'massive debt from leftist mismangement?' LOL. After this and your continuous lies about Krugman, I'm done arguing with someone so obviously retarded.
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Everything I've said about Krugman is true. Prove me wrong. Ooops you can't. And it is you who are a troll. Australia's debt will be 21% of GDP by 2015. And Australia has the HIGHEST household debt to GDP ratio in the world. That will burst soon. Meanwhile your country is just not able to create wealth like ours, and has a low-tech economy by comparison. Add in the threat that China may wish to expand into your land, and you are not doing that well. And the only reason...
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 How is it possible to prove someone didn't say something? Lol now I'm convinced you're just trolling. Glad that's settled. Have a good one.
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b You are the troll bub. You have been making false statemnts the whole time, like the Bruning lie, and the several Krugman lies. Only a complete idiot doesn't know Friedman, Hayek, and Sowell have destroyed all credibility that Keynes ever had. They have completely invalidated all his theories. That is why Friedman is considered the greatest economist of the last 100 years, if not of all time (along with Adam Smith).
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Lol more nonsense. Google 'The Obama Gap' from Jan 2009, (youtube won't let me post the url) Krugman clearly says here the unemployment forecasts are optimistic, and that the stimulus would be too small. Friedman definitely was one of the greatest economists of the last 100 years. I wonder if you agree with his views on Austrian economics and the gold standard?
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Bruning most certainly did cut government spending in Germany. It's working as well as austerity is in Europe right now!
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Where is there any austerity in Europe. Not one country has actually implemented it. And Bruning tried, TRIED, to slash spending (which would have made the economy expand) but he was stopped by the Reichstag. You need to learn some history fool. And australia the best country. LOLOLOLOL. It is a decent vacation spot for a week, and that is all. We have a $16 Trillion economy, you have a $1.5T (in aussie dollars which are worth much less than ours).
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Australia has managed to deleverage just as fast as the USA except for one key difference...our economy isn't in the toilet. Great economy, low unemployment, excellent weather...arguably the greatest country in the world, mate!
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Over the last 30 years the US GDP has increased on avg 3.88%/yr and australia's at 3.1%...and with such a small population that is pathetic. Every southern state is a better place than anywhere in your whole country. You can't even defend your country.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Lol, why so much hate for the south? I would've picked you as someone who would love the place. Also, 1 Australian dollar = 1.0715 U.S. dollars. If slashing spending made the economy expand, Greece would be the richest place on earth!
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 In which state do you live, out of curiosity?
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b which one do you live in? Greece has 64% of its workforce working for the gov't. Greece has not slashed spending, that is why they may not receive help idiot. They have over-spent for decades, it doesn't change in a week. Wow, you really are an idiot.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Greece has cut the nominal value of government spending year over year. That is austerity in the strictest sense, yet GDP continues to decline. Hmm, maybe cutting government spending in a depression is a bad idea. This is over almost 3 years btw not 'a week', lol.
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Umm, EVEN FDR's SecTreasury said that spending during a depression was a bad idea. FDR's SecTreasury criticized the New Deal in 1939 saying that all that spending and they still couldn't get non-farm unemployment under 20%. Do you understand? You have lost. Greece will not turn around in a week.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 "I think the Austrian business-cycle theory has done the world a great deal of harm. If you go back to the 1930s, which is a key point, here you had the Austrians sitting in London, Hayek and Lionel Robbins, and saying you just have to let the bottom drop out of the world. You’ve just got to let it cure itself. You can’t do anything about it. You will only make it worse." - Your pal, Milton Friedman
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Friedman also proved that the New Deal made the Depression last 4 more years and tripled unemployment, and increased the debt by 133%.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 Friedman was opposed to the government regulations as part of the new deal, not the spending on programs such as the WPA (which incidentally is where he got his first job) and other direct government spending,.
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@jack24b Friedman was a keynesian until he started a huge research project in the early 50's to prove Keynesianism was GREAT. What he found, though, was that Keynes philosophy was detrimental to the public good, exploded deficits, and condtricted growth. That is how he moved to proving that supply-side economics is the best method for low unemployment, high growth, and upward mobility of people to higher income levels. You lose badly every time.
svvmichael1 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 LOL, no, he in fact came to the conclusion the monetary policy and tight money (a phrase that gets Austrians aroused) caused the Great Depression. Friedman spoke favourably of the WPA and other programs set up to reduce the societal dysfunction caused by mass unemployment.
jack24b 2 weeks ago
@svvmichael1 "The other part of the new deal policy was relief and recovery … providing relief for the unemployed, providing jobs for the unemployed, and motivating the economy to expand … an expansive monetary policy.
