Here's my problem with French teams in motorsport. They used to hire French drivers all the god dam time. And Alpine-Renault was a perfect example of this. Just take a look at their driver line-up for that season. Bernard Darniche, Jean-Luc Therier, Jean-Claude Andruet, Jean-Pierre Nicolas, Jean-Francois Piot, Jean-Pierre Manzagol, Michel Jullien and Francis Serpaggi. And guess, what, they all all French!!!
its called having pride in your homeland, which the country I grew up in (USA) only sees as joining the military, what a great nation that can take pride in its racing drivers, of course America lacks both good cars to race and good drivers matched with the high income parents to start it all
