Huh weird, myself and my three visitors also got insanely sick there, to the point where it ruined the last two days of it so we really couldn't enjoy it. Th group exiting the reserve before us also said to be careful about the food. But the 5 other people in our group were totally fine. We suspect it may have been something we ate the night before in Houexay, but who knows. Definitely take electrolyte powder with you etc. We were totally miserable hiking out of there.

thats funny u shud say that, because I had no problems with the food in the jungle as did none of my group, but got a bit sick from the food I had back in houxiauy after.

You are one lucky person to vacation in Laos! I would love to go hiking in the mountains and jungles of Laos. I heard they have great water rafting too! How's the mango trees?

Yep, the best way to cross the jungle. But too bad, illegal loggers are cutting down those teak trees in Laos. I don't know how they will save their forests. Nobody wants to help. Poor Laos!

I have no idea. I've been waiting to go vacation in Laos for a long time. I've ask my employer if I can have 4 weeks off and still pending. I want to see the world's widest waterfall, Khone Falls in Southern Laos. And I would love to swim with the Mekong River dolphins too!

Oh dear god....the zip-lining experince was incredible but 6 out of 8 of us got food poisoning and I didn't know if my partner would get out alive...I'm really not exaggerating.

Take first aid supplies against diaorrhea and vomiting because there is no way out except for a 2 hour trek...which may turn into a 6 hour trek. And if prepare by getting healthy and fit. SERIOUSLY. There is no other way out of there.

An incredible, but potentially deadly, experience.
