@DaRealCorleone22 - That is Vincent Price as "The Abominable Dr. Phibes", this figure, plus our "House Of Wax" figure of Vincent (at 1.57) are both currently on display at the "Sheldon Museum", in Price's hometown of St. Louis for the "Vincentennial" celebration, of what would have been his 100th birthday. Our figures will be on display in St. Louis from May through mid August 2011.
wow looks awsome i love these places and enjoy pretending to be scared [its not scary]i love the phantom of the opera hes awsome but thise would be a great place to spend Halloween and prank ur friends lol
I now live in Washington DC area, but my hometown is Bristol, CT. I first went to the museum when I was 14, and Cordlandt Hull is still operating 40 years later. Cortandt is a horror movie fanatic, an interesting story that he might want to relate, going back to his childhood. He is a true talent, and has also worked on artistic design of horror movies in Hollywood in the past. I am glad Cortlandt has continued his "labor of love" and wish him well into the future. Thanks for the memories.
"The Witch's Dungeon" is open every fall, in Bristol, CT. - they
don't allow me to put the website here, which has more details & photos, see "History" & "Dates" pages - look at info box, on upper right, for website, it is also listed at end of this video. Thanks - Cortlandt
amazing place, I could not believe that a place like this was so close to me, not only that, but how I had know idea it even existed. Great, great experience, and since I've watched the documentary it makes me more excited and appreciative of the Witch's Dungeon.
I love this place, I grew up one town over in Plymouth, CT and I used to visit this place as a child. It was definetly an inspiration for me as I began my theater career. While I live in Boston these days...I am so happy to see this place growing and I wish Cortlandt all the best!
I got the chance to see the Werewolf of London, Dr. Phibes and Frankenstein Monster figures close-up at this past weekend's Wonderfest here in Louisville. Cortlandt Hull is an amazing guy who's had the chance to fufill every "Monsterkid"s wildest dream. his own wax museum full of monsters...
Can't wait to visit this true landmark!

Where's The Wolf Man?
GORIZARD4 2 years ago
Since my great uncle was actor, HENRY HULL, the first wolf
man - "Werewolf Of London" (1935), he got priority, at "The
Witch's Dungeon Museum". I have made a life size figure of
Lon Chaney Jr. as "The Wolf Man" (1941), with two other artists,
Paul Clemens & Dante Ranta, for "The Classic Monsters Cafe"
at Universal Florida in Orlando, so you will have to visit him
there, he is in the display case on the left as you enter. (go
to our website in box on top right)

Really? Wow. Let me tell you I'm deeply honored to talk to somebody from the Hull family.

Speaking of life-size figures, mind you if I ask how tall was Lon Chaney Senior?
Silent46 3 years ago
Sorry, am not sure of Lon Chaney Sr's exact height, I know
he was under 6 ft. although his son, Creighton (Lon Chaney
Jr.) was about 6 ft. 3 in. I try to make all the figures as close
to the actor's real height as possible, and check on their eye
color. An exception was my great uncle, actor Henry Hull -
i decided to do his eyes the color they were described, when
he was the "Werewolf Of London" - green! (Henry's eyes were
actually dark brown)

Vincy price, lol.
Nice work! Wax?
Enabsflow1 3 years ago
The Vincent Price heads (as both faces are shown) are cast
in foam filled latex, which I hand painted, not airbrush, used
real glass eyes, and human hair. The formal suit is the original
used in "House Of Wax" a gift of Vincent, who also recorded the
special opening & closing tracks for the tour.
Thanks for your comment - Cortlandt

That organ music. What is it?
Silent46 3 years ago
This is part of our two hour documentary, "The Witch's Dungeon
40 Years Of Chills". All the music is original, composed by Dennis
Vincent, for this project. Vincent Price was a great friend, he did
the recordings just for our museum, in the mid 1980's. See info
above for our website. Thanks for your interest - Cortlandt
