I'm gonna have to disagree with Robert Pattinson as L.Now my reason is Robert wouldnt do a sucky job at it i admit,but he might actual not get the role.What i mean is he wont really fully be able to be L.Not just because of how he looks,they can use a wig and makeup all that stuff.Its just hes great at acting,but i think that he might overdue L.L's not just a serious dude there were moments when he was funny but not trying to be so i dont think Robert would be able to cover that,but really nice!

Yeah, I agree Nicolas Cage would make an awesome Ryuk, to be fair Zac Efron would really suck at playing Light. Shia Lebeouf I think would make an okay Light, he just needs to neaten up his hair a bit, but I think he would be a way better matsuda. Robert Patterson as L I would say no, he has the characteristics mostly but I don't think he would handle such a big role, plus his hair is way too different, I cannot think of any actor that could possibly play L at the mo except the ones showed

A name that has come of for Light is Chase Crawford. I'm not familiar with him, so...

For L, people have said: Daniel Radcliffe, Johnny Depp, Paul Dano, Lou Taylor Pucci, Orlando Bloom, or Jared Leto... of those, I could see Bloom doing a tolerable portrayal just because he's a good actor, but... yeah... meh...

Gary Oldman to play Soichiro?

I've heard that Liam Aiken would make a good Near, Toby Hemingway would be a good Mello, and Zach Braff would be a good Matsuda.

I don't know those actors- I don't know many actors- so my opinion is rather difficult to form.

I think that Tim Burton, M. Night Shyamalan, Guillermo Del Toro Gómez, or Christopher Nolan would have made great directors.

And I don't really care who plays Misa- I'm sure she shouldn't be too hard to cast...

Sarah Chalke, she played Elliot Ried on Scrubs (it recently did a seires finale). I know she's like 30-something and too old, but I think she'd do good if it were in her younger years.
