the king oni you get are nothing compared to what they were originally building for them the one the emperor has was the original and it is tough you think to attack it with air units but it fires rockets that take them down in no time flat

In the original Red Alert Einstein went back in time to 1926, where he killed Hitler. The Soviets go back in time to 1927, a year after Hitler was killed by Einstein. I think that is EA's logic to the fact that Hitler is still dead.

I don't what makes less sense, the Soviets surround the USA without being noticed in RA2, or the Empire of the Rising crossing a whole continent in day in RA3. Good thing I don't try and make sense out of this series.

Well the Red Alert series is based on fiction so you more or less expect it to have some wacky ideas.

Yeah, plus some of the units have an impractical design. There's plenty of room on the Shogun battleships for additional guns, some with King Onis and the Shogun Executioner (though that thing is strong enough already). The animals are really off the wall, along with the Kirovs.
