  • The top comments always make me laugh out loud

  • haha I thought he was playing drums? That was really solid

  • Its swivel

  • Just to help clear things up. In this video, when his heel goes down it shifts the power to the front of his foot and then adding a bit of slide technique helps the 2nd tap sound more even. So he does use his heel and this can therefore still be called heel toe. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what it looks like

  • That's slide, not heal toe.

  • sick man

  • hes doin swivel on left.....and slide on right...no heel toe here o.o

  • @OGTheDemon He's doing slide, but he's doing it different. Probably because that's how he learned it. No idea why he called this heal toe-.-

  • This is not heel-toe? This is heel up double stroke!

  • @ReThord

    NO!

This is heel-toe WITH constant heel up (see photos and explanation (in french language but you can translate automaticaly with Google: not so bad) on my website)!

  • Finaly someone on You tube who understand realy heel toe technique (nothing to do with Derrick Pope tap dancing kind of stuff).

Compare just the difference of speed and power (and of course efficiency).

let's put some hands, rhythm and melody within now!

    Great job!

    A drum teacher from France

  • Dude, SWEET!!!! I wish you'd explain this technique though

  • fuck that was loud

  • you are boss.

  • YES!

  • Helicopter above

  • This is beast! really.

    Awesome.

  • OH F***

I SHITTED MY PANTS BECAUSE OF SOUND

  • Amazing , never saw a single person to do this with the slide technic , yes , that is not heel toe , its slide , to do this with the slide is really dificult , compared to the heel toe , im still practicing and hopefully i achieved what i saw in this vid , truelly fantastic

  • looks more like slide

  • IT'S NOT HEEL TOE TECHNIQUE!!!!

  • Do my pedals have to be perfectly aligned to pull off a proper heel toe stroke?

  • what drum is that?? Harley Davidson???

  • sounds like a machine gun

  • very nice

  • although very impressive....this is not heel toe.

  • That wasn't hell toe. That was swivel.

  • I couldn't help but think of Raining Blood.

  • it is not heel toe . its definitely slide

but its still awesome . just have to change the title of the vid

  • that doesnt even look like heel toe, thats either slide or swivle

  • cheater :P

    Just kidding .. AMAZING !!!!! ... Could you make a tutorial ?

  • This can't possibly be heel toe.

  • COOL!!!!

  • I'm hestitating on which technic to use on double bass since a few years, this one, heel & toe, or the classic one used by the majority of drummers. I'm much quicker with heel & toe but the result is not steady, some kicks are stronger than others.

Any advice on which one to use ? I'm gonna post some video to show the result

  • @Chapichap0 If you're a speed demon who doesnt want/can't afford longboard pedals, use this method, if you're a speed demon willing to burn some money on some longboard pedals/have small feet, use the proper heel toe technique, if you are none of the above, and are after more complex beats etc, use the standard technique, it also boils down to what you're more comfortable with, your skill, how you play and what your music demands.

Thats my two pence atleast. :)

  • Vrooom Vroooom...praaaprapraprapra !!!!

  • slide on right swivel on left....effective truly is :)

  • To me, it looks like a combination of the slide technique, and the swivel technique....Im not sure if its angle of the camera, but you can see the left foot make a swivel type motion, and the right more of a straight pedal slide with his right foot.

  • that is not heel-toe is like swivel in the left foot and slide in the right foot which is wicked jajajajaja and could you hold a certain speed?? cause you were hittin singles then doubles and then singles again but you have talent man :)

  • looks like hes using the slide technique. not heel toe

  • bad! useless! STID you to say you're still very good ....

  • Where's the heel part?

  • @XDrummerSteve Yeah this isn't heel toe........

  • What an Horrible bass drum sound ! It sucks !

  • @moclu I quite like it

  • I'm a guitarist so excuse my ignorance. It looks like you're sliding with your right and swivelling with your left

  • God damn, your an animal

  • WHOA Tis is for Fade to black ending so FAST :O

  • sounds like a snare :D

  • what a dummy

  • Zach Hill can do that with just one foot xD

  • I just want to thank all the people that left such FUNNY comments! You read so many negative posts on Youtube that it is just nice to see some lighthearted humor!! Great video, but the comments are KILLER!! Thanks to all for a good laugh!

  • tht wasnt heeltoe sillyhead tht was the slidetoe technique

  • It looks more like youre doing a swivel more than heeltoe.

  • thats how fast i jerk off... xD

  • that looks like slide. :)

  • nyce, but your left foot is doing the swivel and your right is doing the slide technique..nice diversity though..

  • I had headphones in, didn't realise my volume was up, basically shit brix.

    Jus' sayin'.

  • sounds like my rapid fire diarrhea..

  • @coolbji That is funny! Thanks for the laugh!!

  • ur fast dud but thats the slide technique

  • fuckin midget with a machine gun in the bass drum

  • WOW

  • GTA drumshots lol

  • sounds like my snow blower

  • not heel to thats slide dude

  • wow... this is what tim yeung does .. actually slide tech for the right and swivel with left... aahh i have been working so hard on my ankle and heel up motion, but i can never be so consistent, plus slide technique eats all my energy away...

    good work man!!!

  • Sounds like a freakin machine gun!

  • omg these are just 16ths. thought they were 32nds. oh well *shrugs*

  • Actually sounds like a german world war 2, 4 barelled anti aircraft gun.

  • @NobleMachinima Did it also change the speed while shooting?

    I can't remember..

  • O_O sounds like a bloody machine gun!!! i like!

  • What kind of pedal is that?! It's sweet!

  • @shadowforc30 DW9000 :P!! They are AWESOME!!!!

  • that probably took A LOT of metronome practice .... xD

  • Really nice solid work - but what's "heel toe" about it?

  • Sounds like a Harley...

  • that was insane, nice man

  • yeesh put a freaking blanket or something inside that bass. Other than that, good work.

  • amazing, but the drum sounds like a snare

  • now swing bitch!

  • dude no offense but your bass sounds like a snare

  • those sounds like a snare hits 0_o

  • DW9000? Rich bastard :P

Haha, nice job, but this is not heel toe.

  • i like how his legs dont actually move any faster when he speeds up. its all in the foot.

  • awesome pedals and awesome skills, but that isn't heel toe dude

  • Excellent!!! I wasted over a year of my life tring to play this tempo heels up and never got it. My left played up all the time but once I started using heel toe, the left foot loves it. That was it for me. I can handle higher tempos than 200 bpm with heel toe now. For some strange reason I used to think heel toe was cheating, but not at all. Its so effective and easier to play. Good work man!

  • I'm not sure how you're doing that exactly but I'm as impressed as hell!

    Joe from Billdidit

  • haha sounds like my chevy

  • @fastestrhythem i couldnt stop laughing when i saw your comment lol im from west virginia soo hear alot of that

  • @fastestrhythem bhahaha i just lol'd all over

  • That's really fucking good, dude. Props.

  • I don‘t know, I didn‘t see your heel touching the pedal, but anyways that sounds awesome dude !

  • that scared the shit out of me

  • @SymbolicDrummer haha the second time i watched it, i forgot about volume and it made me go like XO

  • Lol at some parts it sounds like a MASSICE fart.......! >:D

  • thats actually really smooth. most people have like a huge problem maintaining volume in all the strokes

  • I love you O.O

  • FUCKING NUTS!!!

  • NICE !!

  • sounds like machine gun...haha!

  • Badass!

  • I'm getting back into drumming after a 30 year hiatus and some of these things either weren't around at that time, or, if they were around, they were only known by a select few. I saw Bonham, Appice and Buddy Rich - I've heard Bonham used heel-toe, but I never heard anyting like this from any of those guys. Thanks to folks posting these techniques on youtube. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it. I've got to take my old legs down to the basement and practice.

  • @bpivr bonham never used heel-toe

  • @bpivr Respect!!!

  • @bpivr RESPECT!!!!

  • You've got some power behind those lol

  • haaaaaaaaarley davidson

  • heel toe or not, this is still pretty sick....

  • this isnt heel toe man

  • LOL i have to laugh at this, for one you aren't doing the heel toe method at all, and you aren't only doing the sliding method, your left foot is doing an entirely different technique LOL, i do have to give it to you that you got fast at it that way.

  • i hate you!!!!! haha

  • What bass drum head batter and resonant?

  • insane!

  • Holy crap! Nice work. Sounds like a machine gun or helicopter.

  • you can still hear the beat even when you... quadruple the time haha

  • lol it sounds like a motorcycle XD

  • @mellewillems Hahaha I laughed so hard because of your comment!!

  • yea sounds horrible, all over the place.

  • sounds like a Harley-Davidson!

  • it's not slide nor heel toe... it's swivel...

  • lol it looks like the swivel and slide technique mixed......GENIUS!!!!!!

  • i have the same metronome how much was yours mine was 25 bucks

  • Not consistent and solid. Really listen to this jerkoff. The average listner couldn't tell but musicians can

  • @RGdood I totally agree, way off time.

  • @RGdood i'm a musician, of 12 years in fact., if you can't see the pattern and the beat, you're retarded.

  • @RGdood

    well can u do better?

  • holy shit, check your speaker volume before you play this vid, almost shat myself

  • @supernickynick LMFAO, sadly that was the funniest thing i have heard today. nice.

  • thts a dw 9000 double bass pedal

  • man i thought i was getting shot when u start xD

  • sounds like blasts beats on the slower beat

  • great work, kinda sloppy though

  • doesnt the drummer of lamb of god use this technique?

  • @Ichliebegermany

    chris adler.

i think he uses a combo of this and heel/toe. check out the extras on the killadelphia dvd...he goes into his technique it on that. (truth be told its probably on the youtubes here somewhere.)

  • WTF!? slide technique with the right and swivel with the left?

  • the salve footboard on my dw9002 pedals doesnt go low as the footboard on my master pedal

does anyone have the same problem?

  • Who gives a shit what you call it, he makes it sound good and pretty fluid.

  • This is not heel toe... Are you using your heel? No.

  • Comment removed

  • your bassdrum sunds awful

  • i swear thats the slide....

  • haha sound like motorcycle trying to start, nice technique tho.

  • this isnt heal toe, this is swivel, the thing george kollias uses, however, this is a better technique because as george demonstrates, you can fuck shit up with it. so amazing job man :D

  • Damn!! Youve got wings on your feet, i can go only half that speed with the slide

  • WoWW. I need to learn how to do that!

  • fuck double pedals

  • fuckin sweet dude!

  • like other people have said .. not heel toe .. .. but heel up doubles are crazier than heel toe doubles .. keep it up how much faster can you push that?

  • Slide mate

  • that is the SHITTYEST bass drum ive ever seen, gett a nice one then get up a new vid

  • I heard it's easier to do this if you replace your foot pedal with plexi glass and wear socks.

  • Fast!

  • how long have you been exercising about that??

  • your right is sliding and your left is swiveling. this is not heel toe at all bud.

  • nice job

  • omg lol!

  • This isn't heel to toe, your not using your Heel at all.But still good though

  • Looks like he is massaging the drum pedals

  • Do you like stomp, slide, stomp in one move?

  • Nice dude. Your left foot looks like its swiveling and your right foot looks like its sliding

  • @AznR00t thats the point.

  • for the last time its a slide technique look it up.. seriously

  • I use that technique sometimes and makes it really easy to roll

  • its not swivel, its not heel toe. its straight doubles

  • thats swivel. his heels dont touch the pedals

  • theres no way thats swivel, thats heel toe like it says

  • he has a short boarde with shoes on theres no way he could do heel toe with a shortboard and shoes on and like cragga34 said his heeles dont even touch the pedal, its swivel

  • It's definitely swivel.

    His heels are up.

  • this isnt heel toe... its swivel, but still nice

  • i have got the dw 9000 double pedal too, it is sick house, i luv it

  • F*ckn impressive dude!
