  • The best part of this video is the shots of the cameraman using the steadicam gear.

  • Man! My kusarifundo arsenal is very basic.

One way or another, sooner or later I am gonna learn more. Its been a very neglected weapon with my masters.

  • Great camera work and skill. I need to practice with the Kusari Fundo more. I love this art and am just beginning. Definitely will be an awesome journey.

  • A leather belt flopping around in the air just may be the last thing i would be afraid of on the street.

I have actually been whipped full force with a belt exactly how the man at the end swings and i PROMISE you it will not do any real damage to any attacker.

Now, if you are wrapped up with a belt in effective ways, you are in deep shit. But slapping is only useful as a distraction preceding a swift kick to the groin...annnnnd another.

  • these are PRACTICE kusarifundo....the real ones is a chain with metal weights on both ends!

  • @celo456937

Right, and again, i was referring to the silly flailing belt nonsense at the end of the video.

I know full well what a kusarifundo is.

A BELT could never be a training kusarifundo. The mechanics of the two are worlds apart.

Wait, why did you even reply to my comment?

Your response was as ineffective as the floppy belt... O.o

    Enlighten me.

  • ....you obviously don't realize the potential application that a belt could provide, in a pinch. Of course you wouldn't act like it's a snake and wave it around at someone.

  • I'm no idiot, pal. So, don't insult my intellect. I mentioned in a previous comment, "Now, if you are wrapped up with a belt in effective ways you are in deep shit."

    CLEARLY, i realize a belt's potential application.

Saying i "...obviously don't realize..." that which i had previously stated in plain view is pretty unnecessary.

  • @skooterkid it's all twatever.

  • Not practcle at all, ill take the rope wip, cause theres a moment where the rope is wrapping him up that ill use my join locks Hapkido I think all most all martial arts r great some r just not put 2gether correctly, the rope is concidered a soft weapon and take a high level of practice and skill.

  • Amazing type of weapon, and the cameraman's got cool equipment

  • Thank you ;-)

  • Very good stuff, Where can I find a practice Kusari?

  • use a rope with knots and each end

  • Thats a good idea, thanks.

  • Very nicely done--you illustrated usage of the great flexible weapons which get no respect and are dying out in mainstream arts. My only complaint is that the video was too short....so much awesome content, so little time.

  • very creative.
