Very cool! I'm just finishing a 2009 Yamaha XV250 twin bobber. The bike only has 800 miles on it but I liked it better "bobbed". Now, if Honda would get smart, they would take some lessons from you...I'm sure they would sell.
You know, if its still 50cc or under you can legally use it as a moped, and in my state moped can be used with no insurance, no tags, no inspections, no registrations. Just add some turn signals and your good
Awsome job on the chopper, its nice to see a fresh twist to something old ...props to ya !!!! T o all the haters they are just dumbasses that are jealous....Props to ya again , job well done !!!!!!!!!!
We'll to those that are sitting behind their computer screens making unpleasant remarks about this fine chopper. How many choppers have you built? If the answer is none the STFU. Great bike, a lot of work. What's not to love?
I truly do not know what everything is freekin out about!? You did an AMAZING job on this and it looks fantastic! The only mistake you made was selling it! Well anyways, props to ya! You have a great mind!
Probably faster since we changed the sproket. The back sprocket is -3 teeth smaller so the top speed is faster than normal. I'm not the one to test it cause I prefer to keep my skin on my body... ha ha
Nothin like going 50+mph with your butt 4 inches off the ground!
im so glad to see somebody took the time to make such an original build, good job and keep up the good work man, you really have talent for that shit obviously
lolol fuck that fuckin pocket bike..ide get a goped.. not only more comfortable buit safer.. what are u going to do if a car is coming at u funny.. fall 1 foot to the ground and crawl... no thank u.. atleast on a full size bike u can kick off it and atleast make a decent ditch for whatever u may possibly hit... pocket bikes are scary... GO peds are fun.. ive had a few.. i never did more than about 35 on my big foot.,, some of them go around 50 or more for the crazies
thats far from a pocket bike and could smoke any pocket bike out there, never heard of a goped that can hit over 50mph. my cousins has dumped money into his and it still only does 35mph tops
that a nice project. it wasnt ruined at all. the way i see it, its still rideable and enjoyable so its waaaaay better than bein in a junk yard somewhere. awesome job

z50 i have a 1971 z50 and my parents keep telling me to throw it out but i dont wont to and this looks like a good project for me to do cheers mate
The goal of the project was to keep the bike in proportion as much as possible. The tires and bike are typical of European and American influenced Bobbers (fat tires). Also, Bobbers usually don't have a stretched frame, but the forks were lengthened for clearance. The piston shifter is from a Z50 so it was perfect. The license plate, pedals, pegs were all down-sized to keep it's proportion as well. We just wanted a bike that looked like you took a full sized one and shrunk it.
for the critical distance, i think called trail. it looks like the vertical line at the wheel axle and the diagonal line from the steering head dont even meet. i would think that that would cause major steering problems!
found the tyres, chain, light assembly I foun online. Most everything else we fabricated from stuff around the spare parts corner of the garage. This was really a project to work on with my son and teach him how to be resourceful both by using or making parts while doing projects.
