  • invasion? the ocean is their home. it doesn't belong to us. motherfucker we suffocate in water.

  • Comment removed

  • doing a homework assignment on this is so hard :(

  • @Yoopsen213 What is your homework assignment on?

  • why don't we hunt them to reduce their numbers

  • @SuperMakoto8 There's a species of jellyfish (Normura jellyfish) that releases millions of sperm/eggs into the water when they're attacked. Do this to an entire population of jellyfish and you effectively just replaced every one jellyfish with a thousand. There are thousands of different species of jellyfish and for a lot of them, killing them in the traditional manner is rather counter-productive and pretty difficult.

  • @thedeflatedone And yet Japanese fisherman are still killing them by the thousands. I personally think it is awesome. The oceans do not belong to us. If anything they belong to the jellyfish, if we are using playground rules, oldest make the rules. Along with the other invertebrates and Cephalopods. We need to check ourselves and realize our place in grand scheme of things.

  • @SuperMakoto8 cuz what would anyone do with them? you can't make money of killing jellyfish, and thats why we dont hunt them....

  • @GeneralKenobiz well they taste really good with the right seasoning

  • Wicked channel bro, but just to warn you, utube tries to take down videos for pirates and you are stealing National Geugrfix stuff. Don't worry though, I'm cool, I'm pretty wild myself too. One time I ate a bunch of nutmeg and tripped ballz, so I'm kinda hardcore like that and won't snitch. Just a warning though, if national geugrfix finds you, they'll be royal pissed!

  • @jjjooommm222 This is the official channel of NatGeo, since this is only a preview of the full documentary. Which I happen to own. Goodluck with that nutmeg, vomiting sounds like fun.

  • JELLY FISH ARE FUCKING USELESS CAN SOMONE PLEASE TELL ME SOMETHING THEY DO

  • @zandpvids what the fuck do humans do? pollute and and dump shit in the ocean? fuck up the world?

  • @zandpvids Every animal has a purpose. They all have an equilibrium with the environment. Jellyfish eat fish and plankton

  • @zandpvids Jellyfish make jelly.

  • @lucaschallenger I hope your joking and your not 10 years of age.

  • The numbers are dramatically increasing mainly due to the warmer seas and secondly that Jellyfish have an incredibly small amount of predators.

  • I love how when they said "Venomous creatures" in the first sentence, it cut to a shot of a non-venomous species of jellyfish.

  • we should hav jellyfish hunting season

  • I'm glad I live in Kansas.

  • YOU FOOLS! Can't you see IT'S HAPPENING. IT'S HAPPENING NOW. WAKE UP!

  • Omg.

  • im sorry but they are NOT " investing our oceans" they've been here for way before we were here. And I've been stung by a jellyfish, not a deadly one, and since then im fukin scared of jellyfishes so this article to me is creepy!

    peace out

  • Fools blame global warming for everything. Bull shit.

  • I hate jellyfish I never want 2 c thm again

  • DAMN NATURE YOU SCARY!

  • One day when i was at the beach, there was this massive invasion. I almost got stung.

  • you know who else is reproducing at alarming rates? Humans,....and Humans may have something to do with it ;)

  • @darkprince56 ....lol..thats true

  • ya hear that people? you can relax, humans may be killing some things but look at this! we are making others succeed like crazy. i am not saying this is good, I know its not but my point is something will always live. so dont worry things adapt.

  • At 1:23 how do these light patterns happen?

More importantly, Chuck Norris uses these for condoms.

  • Comment removed

  • idea not really the best but over fish the jelly fish even if there is no use for them it lowers the numbers

  • Human infestation is what we need to concern ourselves most with before we need to worry about creatures that don't even have a brain.

  • Just don't eat them OR YOU'LL DIE!

  • this was made about 3-4 years ago and nothing new has popped up.....

  • we need more Spongebobs & Patrick star to catch these fools ...

  • GET AN ARMY OF SEA TURTLE AND THEY WILL EAT THEM YEAH!!

  • I HATE JELLYFISH.

  • Basically, this is what's going to happen: Global warming will render our planet with only about 10% land mass and 90% ocean. Humans will eventually destroy themselves, and the jellyfish will evolve into the Hanar, and this will be known as the Hanar homeworld by the alien beings that discover our world. Mass Effect isn't too far off on their origins lol :p

  • why the fuck would anyone get in water with a jellyfish!!!! dumbasses even if they are kids

  • I bet you I can hold manowars in my hands and have video to prove it

  • Except they've been around for 500 million years.

  • Ahhh jellyfish... Bloody got stung today right on my face by one while i was body boarding at the beach. Fukn worst pain ever...! I thought i was a goner but the pain went away n just left a red mark on my face...

  • Hilarious... if they are dying, it's our fault, if they are thriving... it's our fault:)))) BS

  • no heart no brain? sounds alot like zombies...

  • Beware the evil jellyfish!

    Next up:

    The evil weeds!

    lol

  • Is not hard to figure out why they are booming. If nothing eats these jellyfishes then of course they going to explode in numbers. The truth is the ocean belongs to the aquatic animals. why are we as humans always trying to control everything. If your swimming in the ocean and get hurt by an aquatic animal is your fault. Go swin in a pool and leave the ocean alone.Would you walk into a jungle and run around playing? Hell nah, cause a lion going to eat your ass. Same with the ocean you idiots.

  • Jelly fish have now been found in lakes and even quarries.

  • JESUS IS THE WAY TO GOD!

  • We need to do what we can to destroy all jelly fish, then we can be safe once again.

  • If we can make jellyfish sound bad....what if they made a documentary on the impact of humans on the earth....

  • @00Avenger17 It's called "An Inconvenient Truth."

  • @ikaelamay no. that my friend is about global warming if you watched the movie. not even touching upon deforestation, pollution, mass wars, extinction of animals, exploitation of resources.... (just to mention a couple of things....)

  • venomous creatures? what about humans? they are most venomous creatures walking on earth ! NG think about them also.

  • @sweetiepsyche

I did something similar with my big sister when we was small. We created sandcastles for crabs and put them into the castle and then destroy it.... then we make a funeral and cermony...

    Kids are weird....

  • 2:52 is the moon jelly fish, they dont hurt humans as their sting is too weak. so dont worry bout those. trust me my whole famiily just pick em up and have jelly pits :P

  • Don't sea turtles at jellyfish? If they do leave it to the turtles :D

  • @mrsbieber778 even if sea turtles weren't endangered (they all are) there wouldn't be nearly enough to make any difference. It would be a pin prick at most.

  • Do we need em?

  • they are quite fascination,no hearts no brains and they cause all this havoc

  • @Alxmir23 this is wrong the study on box jellyfish show that they have primitive brain , and they can see , but thos other jellyfish do not have it tho, lol

  • @Veggis76 i might have to correct myself

they live without primary organs like lungs, heart

    and without blood

they just live without any plausible reason

if they do have a brain, its so primitive they are unable to do any consciousness whatsoever.thats lucky for us because the last thing we need is that jellyfish start thinking, they are already dangerous as they are

  • @Veggis76 i know that the jellyfish get their oxygen by diffusion but thats all

they dont have a heart for there arent anything to pump(no blood)

    no need of lung

  • @Alxmir23 agree, but chironex fleckeri has a brain and it has eyes to, not big one tho and the brain aint like our`s or other animals but they have it, and they are the only jelly that sleeps and swims where it want,

  • @Veggis76 yep but those are pretty much the exception

im guessing they are just more evolved then the more primitive one

  • 11 people got stung by a Jellyfish?

  • i would eat them...yummy

  • I wonder what it's like to be a jellyfish.

  • @Wolveslad I'm sure it's really really really reallyyyyyyyyy boring!

  • @Wolveslad

box jellyfish have hunting territories, they sleep, it's amazing really

  • @Wolveslad well its like being spineless, stupid and heartless

  • whats the name of the light jellyfish in 1:24 ??

    XD

    10x

  • @GoogLf2

    Comb Jellyfhish or periphylla

  • whats the name of the light jellyfish in 1:24

  • Sea turtles eat jellyfish as staple, and jellyfish thrive becos their natural predators are becoming extinct.

  • dam space pirates and their gamma rays

  • DEATH TO ALL JELLYFISH!!!!!

  • I know every thing about jelly fishes... give them a big hug and the'll tickle you to death XD

  • They have no heart and no brain ? they should playing for the England footbal team !

  • I WAS STUNG BY THIS JELLYFISH WHILE SWIMMING IN AUSTRAILIA 2 YEARS AGO........I JUST FLEXED MY MUSCLES AND DARED THE VENOM TO INVADE MY AWESOME BODY..........NOTHING HAPPENED............I JUST USED MY STRENGTH TO DESTROY THIS VENOM.........IRUKANJI............I DESTROYED YOU...........

  • I have been stun by a jellyfish off the Gulf of Mexico. Gosh, that freakin' hurts! Thankfully, I don't think there are really any that are deadly to humans around here, but that is scary to think some beaches are plagued by them.

  • i find it funny how they refer to jelly fish as menaces and a problem when in reality the only major problem is to humans who cause the jelly fish to thrive in the first place, and for those who dont know they are not completely useless they filter out sea water with every contraction most of the crap they filter feed on is fertilizer and runoff created by us that would otherwise harm sea life... and you wonder why the blooms are centered near coast lines of industrius countries

  • I agree with everyone stating the stings hurt. Just imagine a thousand needles stabbing into you, injecting a burning sensation that won't go away.

  • @DaleKamp just in case you didnt know you cant feel the actual stingers they are microscopic. all you can feel is the effects of the venom. Jellys like the moon jellyfish (commonly used as pets) have stingers but the venom has no effect on humans so you are being stung but you will not likely feel any discomfort unless you are sensitive to there particular venom.

  • @scifiguy32 I'm speaking from experience. I was stung by a Sea Wasp in the Philippines. But thanks for the info.

  • thank god for the gulf coast oil spil.

  • this is why i'm scared of swimming in the ocean. thats where i got my nickname worry wart.

  • they look soo beautiful.... 2:15

  • 0:55 , um, excuse me... OUR oceans?????

  • @gaivsimo Ownership defaults to the sole species with a concept of ownership.

  • pollups = jellyfish = food source for humans and jelly toys/cloths

  • i guess BP knew all along...

  • @asijzielinski stfu jewish fuck

  • This jellyfish explosion happens when you overfish, take out the food chain predators, and jellyfish have a grand time of reproducing.

  • maybe we wouldn't be dieing so much to jellyfish if we WATCHED OUT FOR THEM instead of swimming or walking into all half-ass like. bloomed jellyfish look so cool. btw i am kidding about the first sentence i know you can barely see them

  • Jellyfish DO have brains, they have four of them each controlling six eyes.

  • @1210jockey jellyfish dont have brains they have a complex network of nerves. and it even said in the video that they dont have brains or eyes.

  • @cubsrock10997 As you can see this vid is over three years old, The discovery of the brain has only come to light in the last year. many years ago we were convinced the earth was flat, we are always learning!

  • just watched dis on sky, it was facinating, i was amazed at some of the stuff they said. for example they told us that the box jellyfish has 4 BRAINS and 24 EYES!!

  • I know how it feels to be stung by one, very very painful :(

  • Damn we are shit. We have a heart and a brain and we need guns :S

  • @adi12345678902 lol i know we suck at killing shit. they dont even have brains and they can kill in less than a minute. we have brains and we cant even do that. =)

  • I think I want to live in kansas now.

  • wha?

  • god i got stung by one it hurt like shit

  • jelly + fish = jellyfish

  • @bnnyyan WRONG!!!!!!!!! JELLY+FISH = PROFIT!!!!!

  • soon jellyfishes wilkl eat all of our fishes and fishes will be a long lost memory :(

  • we should probley start killing them am i the only one who thought of that?

  • @mat1873 they do in japan, but when a jellyfish is killed the female expose their eggs and the male expose their sperms, and out of a couple of forced dead jellyfish can come a million more...

  • @Hillextreme lol so we are pretty fucked then?

  • @mat1873 i have no idea, i am not an expert, just saw the 45min documentary about it... at least humanity is very creative, i think there will be a solution.

  • @mat1873 "We should probably start killing them, am i the only one who thought of that?" You asked this question 6 months ago but the thing is, jellyfish have thousands of eggs or sperm. The second you attack a jelly fish, all of the eggs or sperm get released, making thousands more. So for every jelly you kill, you just created thousands. and no, the governments tried killing them too but they only made it worse

  • those mother ****ers they they think they can rule the ****ing world!

  • JELLY ANNIHILATION BEGINS

  • Jellyfish are 98% water. ALL THEY DO IS STING. =.= I've been stung by one once and it hurt like a bastard...

  • @TheTrueSong 98% water and no brain! Much like a lot of people I know....

  • kill the jely fish

  • lmao, i remember my cousins and I used to catch small jellyfish and throw them to the shore, and they melt XD,

then we do a funeral and burial ceremony for them

  • @sweetiepsyche

dude u and u cousins r so funny murderer .>=( lols

  • @sweetiepsyche our ceremony is to pee on them

  • @sweetiepsyche LOL!!!

  • well whenever is something is growing too much.. we humans have to eat them..

  • They just stated that human caused storm runoff is causing Jellyfish sex...I bet Al Gore has his hands in this somewhere...

  • iv been stung by a jellyfissh those b*******

  • jellyfish have no nervous systems, meaning they cant be self aware. so what exactly qualifies as alive? jellyfish dont breathe think or communicate

  • what sluts I want to get a shotgun and blast the fuck out of them

  • im saying that because they just survive. they never do anything else

  • to tell you the truth jellyfish arent technically alive

  • does cnidaria breathe blood

  • I shall take on and put it in a tube! I will poke it and name it Squishy and feed it and it will be my best friend! Yay for Squishy!

  • Sponge Bob better get his net ready...

  • AQUA METROIDS!!

  • well thats what happens when we mess with nature. we might have or about to kill off a species that kept them in check

  • blast them with atom bombs!

  • hell yeah

  • Im from ireland and most of the beaches are full of them at winter, I mean the ones we get wouldn't kill ya but they sting like fuck, I mean look under the water 40 - 50 feet out and all you see is purple jellyfish under the water and the there is more dead jellyfish on the beach then there is sand, Keep in mind tihs is only some beaches and only in winter, don't want to turn people off come here to surf ^^, Doolin in Co. Clare is by far the best spot to surf.

  • did he say a 400 lb jellyfish? waaaaah!!!

  • you do know jellyfish are active during the winter too right..

  • Where's Spongebob when you need him!

  • @TheClassyGymnast To bad spongebob never actually kill the jellyfishes xD he just catch 'em and then release them again xD

  • @TheClassyGymnast Yeah! Spongebob AND patrick can get out their nets then start catching'em!

  • they are by far the nastiest creatures god has made.

nasty as hell, and so scaryy :@

how the hell do you function without a friggin brain

  • e read that all they do is spend their lifes swimming up and then float back down then up then down..

must suck to have no brain...

  • Some species of jellyfish are immortal though in a sense. They renew their body and their cells dont degrade while they age, but they can still die if you harm them with injury.

  • is there any way to eat jellyfish? like a dish that actually tastes good? lol

  • You can make jelly out of them. Yum yum

  • There are places that are being overwhelmed by them. There is a company, I can't remember which, that makes an icecream out of them. Wether it tastes good or not....I have no idea.

  • they also make something called euro chan saku saku . it's a shortbread cookie with jellyfish !!!
