The funny thing about Macs - they do get viruses, people make special viruses only for Macs, and if you get one of these said viruses, your $3000 Mac is dead...period...go pay another 3k to get a new one...or buy a better PC for half to 1/4 the price. Macs have no security. Any amateur hacker can crack one in a few minutes. The only reason they get so few attacks is because they only make up about 10% of all PCs, and no hackers want to waste their time with small numbers.

Basically, Mac is relying on how much more common Windows is.

That's why Vista asks you to confirm just about EVERYTHING that you do. Windows was made in a very complicated fashion, and it's hard to seperate things.

Mac OS X, on the other hand, is based on Open Source software. It IS a UNIX now, and the implementations behind the facade are comparitively simple.

Also, Mac updates its OS regularly, By the time a virus gets out their, the updates are out to fix it and are automatic updates sent to your mac when you are connected to the internet..
