I dont see what is so wrong with it. It's definitely not worth getting a divorce over.  She has wanted a place in Manhattan since the show started. I could see why it would be tough to give up. Doug had his own apartment and used it just as a place to get away from Carrie and she forgave him for that immediately. I would say Doug having a double life and wanting away from Carrie would be worse than Carrie having trouble giving up the place in the city.
