@BannedstorySophia I made this tutorial a long time ago and it still should work fine. Make sure your clips are lined up correctly. I don't understand about how after you anchor it? You are to mask out the one side. If this tutorial doesn't help, there are newer ones on youtube.

you can do this on movie maker .... just harder and not a customzimbal and half of the time i use it it looks like my clone is fading away ... i guess its a shadow clone! XD i just had to have a naruto joke
