Young Modern is musically a great record, he's one of my favourite lyricists, but I'm more into the older stuff and they still do the older songs. I don't think I would've wanted to see them live back then, Would've been too painful to see Daniel that emaciated even if they ONLY did the songs I was/is most into.

I can understand, though - it's such a personal song. Ana's Song and Emotion Sickness are my favourite tracks on the album, but sometimes they're almost too painful to listen to - I feel like I'm prying into his personal life.

where are people getting the recording sessions of everything from Neon Ballroom?? Which DVD is it?

Some of it comes from 'The Best of Silverchair, Vol. 1 - Complete Videology (Plus Emotion Pictures)', and some from the double CD version of 'Neon Ballroom'. The first is still in print (you can get it from Amazon), but the other has to be imported from Australia. I got it from Amazon marketplace, but I don't see it listed right now. Ebay might have it.

He did admit later that he wasn't really getting better in 1999. IMO, it wasn't until he *had* to recover - when the reactive arthritis started - that he actually did. This was such an emotional song for him during the NB tour, too.

i have a bit of a theory for that, at the time they were recording and before it he wasn't doing much physically, sitting around writing music and such, but then with touring and such, running around and jumping on stage, traveling everywhere, those compared with not being fully recovered made him lose even more weight

it's really quite a heartbreaking thing :(
