I am also eager to see this movie. I think it's kind of ironic, though, that this movie is about tolerance, and in the TRAILER they have a guy demanding that those who oppose him "shut their mouth."
It's kind of sad. Religious leaders have been leading people on long marches since before Moses. History shows that it has made no difference in the behavior of the human animal.
The only people who have ever shown me un- "Christian" treatment are "Christians"
I continue to pray for those people but I quit expecting anything long ago.
This is a must-see for any serious Christian--or for anyone else--who is genuinely interested in seeing our national conversation turn from fear of each other, to love for all.
The trailer does a great job of capturing the essence of the walk: to change Christianity by walking across the land like Jesus did to spread the word about a more loving Christianity than we usually see in the media. I definitely want to see how the movie tells their story!
In 2006 six Christians who were pretty fed up with the unloving, unbiblical, unChrist-like face of Christianity in the media as portrayed by the religious right walked from Phoenix to Washington DC. There goal was modest...to change the face of Christianity in this country. :-)
This movie is incredibly inspiring and actually brings me hope that all is not lost.
