For some reason, I have never forgotten this commercial over 30 years later. Combination of that catchy jingle and the charm of that lady ! Talk about good marketing !!!
HAHAHA I SO REMEBER THIS ONE,, COOL, IT'S FUNNY HOW THE MEDIA BECAME WISE TO BEGIN USING MORE ATTRACTIVE WOMAN IN TIGHT JEANS, INSTEAD OF OLD LARGE MARGE,
I use AJAX (dishwashing liquid) for my hair, it was one of those in-a-pinch things, and NOW I am hooked. Of course, in a year we'll see if I still have any hair, but...
At one time, Ajax had five or six different cleaning products under its "house of Ajax" umbrella; the original cleanser, then the "white tornado" liquid cleaner, a powdered floor and wall cleaner, laundry detergent, and window cleaner. (They tested a spray cleaner--like Fantastik--which bombed around 1967, too.) Ajax was into brand extensions before brand extensions became cool. Sad that Colgate makes only Ajax cleanser and dish soap nowadays...the laundry detergent was sold to another company.
Weren't there two versions of this commercial-the short version(this one) which was played often, and the long version? If anyone has the long version of this commercial, I'd LOVE to see it please.
They had microwaves in the 70's. My parents had a Sharp microwave that they bought in 1977 and it stopped working in 2004. There were cell phones also. Only wealthy people and Doctors had them.
this is the one i use today..forget about dawn, lemon fresh joy and the like...ajax is the stuff and cheaper too:)

Any chance this could be Tyne Daly from Cagney & Lacey? Kinda looks like her and to some extent sounds like her, especially when she says "Sure".

No shot - this woman's tiny. Tyne has always been a heifer.

Alice Cooper, unprotected sex, Zepplin concerts, unretributed fights with the PE coach, Seseme Street Fever the album....I could go on.
