With no other reference points on a 2D screen it's impossible to know the exact distance from us... SOHO is approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth and the Sun is 93,000,000 miles from Earth, so there's quite a vast area where it could be... thanks for your efforts, BPOD...

I ran that photo thru processing and compared it to ISS photos. There are a lot of similarities and we did have a fly-by on the 11th. It is possible, we cant see the solar panels clearly becasue of proximity to satellite. When you look through a telescope at the moon, if something is close and passes in front, you wont see it clearly if at all. The object does seem to have a modular design. I dont know what it is, but good looking out for oddities.

@MrCati - There is something connected to the top of this, the frame of the picture cut it off but under magnification I can see where there is something even much larger this is connected to... And did you see the 2 round things that look like if you were to take about 1000 marbles and glue them all together in a ball? One is behind the 9 and the other behind the 5...
