i felt the same at first hammygams, but i bought it out of my respect for the band and i grew to love it almost as much as colors, almost.
colors was epic, it was an amazing transition from alaskas hardcore(awesome)feel to a more progressive genre-varying composition
i realized in TGM even though there aren't as many coolass parts that you would randomly find throughout the album (example, i felt swim to the moon was a bit of a let down) but know the structure of the whole album is truly genius.
Colors was fucking incredible and I completely agree with strawberry..
Production takes away the raw side of music...
If a band can perform on stage and sound like their album...thats fucking incredible. Too many times do you see someone live and wonder..wow wtf happened...
i like the longer teaser better for obvious reasons haha, that and this one makes their work sound oddly close to august burns red....which isn't really true at all... haha.
The production of Colors sounded warmer, mellower, and overall, a bit muddy, that is a matter of fact, not opinion. And that doesn't necessarily make it bad at all, more like, unique. Counting down the seconds till The Great Misdirect.
there is a video for "obfuscation"

More like the Great Letdown lol
sorry guys i think they lost that very organic cohesiveness they had with Colors
still there are some parts of TGM which are good, but as a whole it doesnt work

true, but I still wish they would team up with a really creative director. Their music is perfect for an interesting video.

You guys are fucking insane.
Hopefully you bought the actual CD and are claiming that; if not, do so and get better speakers/headphones.

The production on Colors was very "pillowy".

Geetarguy4, the production on Colors was fantastic, what are you talking about?
JBT24 2 years ago
well not to be a snob about it or whatever, but after like 50 or so listens of colors, i started to notice that the guitars sounded pretty muddy.
yes, colors was the best album of 2007. i just think that production was what it was lacking.

You fucking retards think you know shit about production.
YOU DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT PRODUCTION.

lol dude, calm down.
i know i dont know anything bout production, but it doesn't take a genius to know what sounds good and what doesnt.

colors had amazing sound, alaska was a bit, I wouldnt call it muddy, but there was definitely something missing. colors was damn near perfect.
