I have a 'don't laugh' story. I was going to do a video response, but my camera and mic quality are low.
We're in a Church--a trio of atheists. Watching a friend's cousin accept a few awards for her athletic ability. Before the girls accepted awards, there had been several speeches on how horrible teenagers and young adults where and how proud they where of their children (and the people in the room) for being of a purer set and trying to impart that on everyone they knew.
As it stood, he had maybe gotten a few glances for not praying, for not joining in fervor, and maybe a smirk or two at some of the particularly laughable sides of faith. But we had been on good behavior.
Before each girl went up for an award, the coach made a few comments about the girl and her advancement as an athlete and her contribution to the team. Some of it was funny, some of it was serious, all of it was taken with a straight face.
"She was on her knees for most of her game time, and she kept taking shots to the face--"
Sure. She was playing soccer. On her knees, balls in the face. At this point the connotations are lost on me. I'm taking this straight and of pure mind.
"Snrk." From my friend across the table. "Snrk, teehee..." As he held in laughter. The girl between us looked at him, then looked at me to hide her silent laughter. The ice clinked against my tooth.
Man, you're so cool.. and that song was really well don't and its an awesome song originally and now I'm sad because you're like a billion times cooler than me.
