Pre production on the 2nd movie hadnt even begun yet when this appeared. the first movie wasnt even released.. also, thats a blackhole out the window, the fighters wouldnt be handling that well in the range of a blackhole. Heck, the Icarus was almost sucked in by it, so imagine what that thing would do to fighters. Plus when we last see the SDF3, its flying uncontrollibly towards the blackhole after it gets rammed.

ok my 6 years of animation education has nothing to do with my knowledge of a screen test vs flash. Yes it COULD be flash, but to no avail is any proof atm. Also if they decided to release this as a finished version I'd be sad to see the animators retirement plan.
more like a simple screen test. The final footages aired so far are alot better quality and not a 30 frame animation which this resembles. Might just be a test for a CG scene, hence the fighters in the background

though that is rick hunter from tsc and the girl is definitly karen penn so I wonder if this may be related to the second movie

I saw this film today in Berkley, the man with the white hair is Admiral Hunter, so it could be real.

well, judging from the fact that there's no sound and the timer, this is only a "first take" digital storyboard animation.
Andif is a "first take" it sure as hell looks a lot better than most other anime.
