Thats not really very accurate. It is not the government who have stole freedom, wealth, power and democrasy from the american people. It is the large corperations who, in turn, control both politcal parties by lobbying, funding campaigns and offering congressmen lucrative jobs when they leave office if they vote a certain way.

Thats not really very accurate. It is not the government who have stole freedom, wealth, power and democrasy from the american people. It is the large corperations who, in turn, control both politcal parties by lobbying, funding campaigns and offering congressmen lucrative jobs when they leave office if they vote a certain way.
In the end Americans took away their own freedom by thinking that real freedom comes from living under a oligrachical dictatorship.

I do not disagree that corporations (as well as wealthy individuals) corrupt the political system as you have stated - That's them paying their dues to be a part of the ruling class. It is ABSOLUTELY the government who has stolen freedom (through legislation and the creation of quasi-judicial departments) wealth (through spending) power and democracy... from the people. RICH PEOPLE ARE NOT THE ENEMY OF FREEDOM - THE RULING CLASS IS.

But it is not the government that call the shots, it's the corperations. And they have so much power because the government is small enough to allow them too.

My use of caps is for emphasis - not yelling. Otherwise my entire post would be all caps. The government is not "small" it is the largest employer in the US. - Government produces NO wealth. They manufacture nothing, they market nothing, the government is the CONSUMER of wealth. Quasi judicial governmental agencies is the reason for the death of freedom in the US. Homeland Security, NSA, FBI, BATF, TSA....all using the Patriot act to subvert your freedoms.

What has Pres. Obama done that he didn't run his campaign on? So far he has done everything he said he was going to do. All of these complainers who couldn't do any better (most of whom probably didn't even vote). It might not be pretty but you can't put makeup on a pig and turn it into prom queen? An act that made abortionists and nurses leave the job because it was too horrific to handle. Abortion is often called the "American Holocaust" because there are a lot of similarities between how we got to where we are (killing babies) and how Germans got to where they were (Killing jews).
