One of my favorite songs. I remember watching w/ my childhood back in the 80's & I recall one of my friends said That I look like the boy who was in the Neverending story.

Where is Mandy now?!?!?! I had a huge crush on her back then.

Mandy was the appearance "singer" in Europe (except for Top of the Pops, where she did really sing it live). Beth was the real singer (who lived in the USA), and she did have a chance to "sing" it with Limahl when he came to the states to appear on American Bandstand (Bandstand was only lip-sync, unlike TOTP).

To clarify the confusion: The vocals on the record were sung by Beth Anderson (check out the Scarface soundtrack for more of her). In the music video and live appearances, Mandy Newton - a background singer of Limahl - lip-synced the part.

This video here is a full playback. So you *see* Mandy Newton, but you *hear* Beth Anderson. ;-)
