I don't completely agree with you... If you have seen the new top of the line 17" macbook pro specs ( a 2.93 GHz processor!!! and 8 gigs of DDR3 ram amazing screen and video card ect....), nobody would say it's a bad laptop at all. Plus, the mac os is set up in a way where you don't need more power/ ram. size does matter. An alienware laptop is like 10 pounds. People don't want to carry that around. Anyway, I think the air is stupid, but macs don't suck

$1200 bucks huh. I just went to the Sony site and it's 2.87lbs, not 2.5....and it's $2000. Oh and it's only 11" screen, not 13.3 like Macbook Air. Sony's 13" is 3.42lbs and it's as thick as the regular Macbook!

Oh and by the way, Mac OS X runs twice and fast and twice as stable as your Winblows so I bet this Air would kill you machine in real world usage!

Yes it does. That feature actually shows that mac is quite versatile. I bet windows does not have a "bootcamp" for mac. Every feature counts. Otherwise to be fair, window's feature of playing games is not counted. Because that is a feature.

both mac and microsoft OS have "inspired" their looks from linux desktop sofware interfaces, linux is where the big software companies took their ideas for their new OS, linux can look the way YOU want it to look, it is not just Gnome. linux sucks if you want to play with your computer, but you bought a mac so you probably don't need that. oh and most of all Linux is free. so it's worth it to give it a try at least.

linux freezes constantly, crashes, has very few downloads, is extremely hard to use(firefox 3 wouldnt even install) and its just a failure of an os. and it has no games NOW i know wut ur gonna say. macs dont have games either. but the truth is they do and most games that are ported to mac are very good.

about games, the BEST iMac now sold has a 3 Ghz conroe and an ATI 2600 Pro (256 MB vram). you can't run anything with that except for jurassic games. okay they are fun too, but for the same money I can get an extreme pc with quad core and top end VGAs and play ANY game on the market. If you like games pc is the most convenient solution, Macs are great for everything else even if pricey.

not just one quad core, it has 2 of them, so 8 cores in total. the only problem is that it costs nearly $3000 and mounts just an ATI 2600 XT graphic card. I don't think apple had gamers in mind when they designed that computer. the new MacBook pro's are finally good for gaming too. running XP on a Mac is honestly depressing. I haven't offended anybody nor I hate macs, so don't call me a douche. danke

Mac notebooks are perfect for people who are not much interested about the benchmarks and need a machine that is first off good looking and stylish and then extremely easy to use, well built OS..still 1800 bucks are a lot of money for a notebook. I think the Mac Book Pro is more worth the money.

Actually, the SSD is a Solid-State Drive, which has no moving parts, much like a flash drive, which means you can pretty much set it down harder than you would be able to with a SATA Drive.

there isn't two microphones, the one on the right is a light sensor. Just so you know. It's fantastic. You put your finger over the sensor and the backlight dims and the keyboard backlight comes on.
