i had heard when i was listening to the stardust cowboy when in my teens that that is where bowie got the idea, but i didnt know this particualr story! nice to hear it from the horses mouth! and see davids gone back to mod hairdos!

I love how in many of his interviews its seems like he's purposely barely paying attention and using the time to entertain himself making funny/weird comments. Probably because he's answered the same questions over and over for decades and knows he'll soon be forced to look at Ziggy Stardust pics/video. Then the interviewer will act shocked as if he just walked out on stage as Ziggy for the first time last week and will expect Bowie to comment as if we're all still waiting for an explaination
