  • Wow, I'm at a loss for words!

  • Should have done a barrel roll.

  • I love how you can see the instructor shake his head in disgust at the end. LOL

  • Lmao I'm surprised he didn't have a bag lock, or atleast line twists at 3:38

  • Throw that fucking guy OUT of the program. I never saw worse body position!

  • kid likes to circle alot :D

  • I start my AFF on saturday. Watching this to make sure I DON'T do the same things lol.

  • @Charlie1821 Wife and I started last month. It's really not that hard, i think this guy had a shitty instructor. Just remember, RELAX! Arch and relax, no worries. Blue Skies!

  • that guy is lucky his lines didn't get all twisted up ffs surprised he went up several times after all that spinning i would have said no way after probably the second jump, although to be fair i don't think i would have the balls to do one!! fair play to his persistence!

  • That was one disoriented MOFO

  • 3:24 ROFLcopter ftw

  • funny shit

  • This kid sucks

  • my god zangief is back

  • This is an example on extremely poor instruction and why instructors shouldn't be paid to video. Shame on the instructor and the DZ! This is good student with a common problem that should have been addressed immediately. If the instructor was close by and not worried about the video, this would have been a non-issue. You're skydiver material for sure; amazing situational awareness! In your shoes, most would have forgotten to pull! Hope this hasn't deterred you~ Blue Skies.

  • Wow omg, yea student needs some work but where the hell was the instructor on those spins? There most def should have been a spin stop. I agree on the line twists as well. Way to try and kill your student!

  • Man, what is that? This is a man or a helicopter? The student is very persistent, but the skydive is not for he.

  • Man, i hope you took up bowling or golf! :)

  • Had a few re-jumps eh?

  • I got dizzy watching that.

  • good alti awareness :-)

  • @jinjatube Ha ha ha ha ha ha :) i guess there's some consolation in that!!

  • Shakybones, I agree with you. I watch the AFF videos to learn and to see what can happen if you mess up. One thing I have learned in all the videos I have watched. Arch you're body and relax in the air. You're instructors are there to help and you should completely trust them. I can not wait till April of 2011 to begin my AFF training.

  • HOLY CRAP! I bet his his lines were twisted like a mutha! Then he spent the rest of the time working out the line twists... I have never seen anyone spin that fast!

  • wow! I'm not even sure i could make my self spin that fast on purpose! haha

  • This video actually makes me less nervous about doing AFF, because if that guy can fuck up that bad and still survive then I guess there's no reason to be overly worried about it.

  • One of my students took over 25 jumps to finish AFF....and is now a world class skydiver. Doesn't always work out that way...and skydiving isn't for everyone... but people can surprise you.

  • AFF is not for everyone??

  • we all been there man. fuck, that AFF training can be nerve wracking at times! instructors forever breathing down your neck for every little mistake. they are constantly on your ass to ensure you survive in this sport for the rest of your life ;). once you get your license... hehehe... life is GOOD! (i never forget my instructors. thank them every chance i see them. without them, i ain't shit!)

  • That student clearly loves clearing line twists

  • I've seen sheets of plywood fly better.

  • @skydiver626 give him some time.

  • That's what happens when you are "tense" you have uneven symmetry and because your muscles are tense you spin. If the student relaxes, the symmetry works itself out. If you can't get over that try tapping your toes together.

  • i really like the way the guy keeps jumping even though his previous jumps havent gone so well. really really brave good stuff to the student and instructor.

  • Funny as.

  • He must have had really really bad twisters....

  • Comment removed

  • I bet he got some serious head spins after that

  • lmao thats funny. Aye when the student is spining, isn't the instructor ment to fly underneth him, to create a vacume of air under the student, so he falls onto the instuctor, hence stopping the spin. Happend to my mate when he was doing his aff.

  • problem is clear,,, hes keeps looking down,, NO REFERENCE! look straight, lock on and ull do just fine

  • Forget the student mistakes. The instructor needs recurrency training. The instructor gave no help after the student lost control. I counted 24 out of control spins before the student saved his own life. At least the instructor got good video.

  • at least he deployed...

  • Instructors should teach you to correct things with your hands.... no one teaches that. You can literally catch the air and stop a spin with an open hand. Every time i'm about to spin, i catch the air with my hand intuitively

  • dude needs some serious tunnel time to fix that body position, but good alti awareness.

(I think I spotted his problem, his alti hand is fisted all the time, causing his spin in that direction) yes something that small can cause that.

  • What Id like to know is what did the instructor smoke before he/she got on the plane???

  • He just needs to learn body position, he was aware of his altitude, i'm sure there were some line twists, but thats what aff is for right?

  • gotta try that sometime real soon not the failing but sky dive itself

  • Credit to you for keeping at it. Looks like Ocana in Spain?

  • at my DZ if the instructor pull's for you, you're done, have a nice day and stick to tandems...

  • I love watching this since I didn't film my first Level 6 attempt. I looked just like this and of course had a major line twist. But that was cool since I learned how to fix that quick. Thank you posting this!

  • yeah i used to have the same problems on my skydives...i went to the wind tunnel for 35 minutes total and now i'm flying much better although i still spin a little bit sometimes but i am now able to correct it.

  • Granted the guy is turning like a top and should not be off AFF at this point, but he is maintaining alti awarness which gives him a lots of points in my book. Looks like he just needs to relax a bit get legs out and toe tap a few times for the spins to correct themselves. When he gets his A I would jump with him. At least he can PULL.

  • The bad thing is they evidently passed him. Cause they got to the point of letting him jump out on his own even though he couldn't maintain a heading for more than a second. lol What dropzone was this?

  • I wonder how many line twists he had after opening.

  • Now i know that my aff jumps were ok lol

  • Some people should rather play gholf!

  • i really feel bad for that instructor .how many times do you want to be kicked in the face.

  • guy is stupid, worst skydiver l ever seen.

  • @AcaNS89 now now, we all had to learn. although if I was his instructor theres no way Id be signing him off!

  • He's not a bad student - just needs to learn body position. At least he's aware enough to deploy his canopy when things are going wrong - a lot of people would panic and spin all the way down til their AAD fired .....

  • - I can't see the mistake in the first scene. What is it?

    - I did AFF1 and AFF2 and think about doing the whole course sometimes, it somehow scared me how easily this student sometimes started to spin. What is the reason for this spinning motion in a besides that stable arch, and what's the best reaction to it?

  • I think in the first one, he's just not responding what so ever to the signal given to him.

  • In regards to the spinning: flying in freefall is all about deflecting air. You might be arching as much as you possibly can, but if you're kinking your body at the same time, you're going to turn or spin depending on how asymmetric you are. Notice how he seems to be leaning to the right (or left) like he's stretching, that's what's causing the spinning. That plus he freaks out when he starts spinning and tenses up, which makes his body position even worse.

  • From what I see the spin was started by him having one leg extended further than the other. A symmetrical body position with a good arch will keep you falling straight and stable. Just keep your shoulders level. If spinning to your left straighten your left leg and bend your right leg. You may have to try turning the opposite direction of the spin because of any momentum you have built up to counter it.

  • @fenix159 once you initiate a spin you will continue to spin until you cancel it - simple solution of turning the other way, which on the AFF should be done by dropping the shoulder you wish to lead from (ie if you're spinning out of control to the right, drop the left shoulder)

  • @mpr106 i agree but also have them look left as well....

  • @ZBUR23 good shout

  • ya, what's wrong with BOC's for students? I pulled mine [on time] on my very first AFF...

  • On first "coached" dive after AFF, same instructor told me that once we get out to get awareness, close me eyes, slowly breath in and out while thinking "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast", then slowly re-open my eyes. When re-opened eyes, was as much at rest as laying lazily on a raft in a pool. We did some great flying. That was when FF became "spiritual" instead of an "adrenaline rush" for me. She was great!

  • I went into the blue-green-blue-green-blue-green washing machine briefly after exit on my 4th AFF jump. Surprisingly, my instructor held on the entire time. I remember seeing her fist in front of my face and then remembering, "OH. Yeah! ARCH!". Was amazed how quickly we became stable again. Rest of the jump went great. Arched so hard on next jump was so rigid that was potato-chipping. Eventually that was worked out.

  • this dude needs to learn to arch. He also needs some tunnel time to teach him body control in free fall.

  • I have just one question, and it is for AFF instructor:

"WHAT IDIOT YOU HAVE TO BE TO USE A RIG EQUIPPED WITH THROW OUT PILOT CHUTE FOR AFF JUMPS, SPECIALLY FOR A STUDENT LIKE THIS?????"

  • I used hand deploy on my AFF jumps, nothing wrong with it.

  • lol, this student looks like total idiot... kicking with his legs like a fool - no arch, no thinking about skydive, thanx god, he opened canopy

  • lmao i love how you added more of the song HAHAHA.. great vid.. i can't wait to start doing this

  • wooow who is the instructor he should train the student before go up again and never let him tur more the 2 rpm, tha instructor need to be proactive not reactive or even worst let the student spin until he deploy..... bad aff instructor

  • wow. JUST ARCH ARCH ARCH ARCH ARCH i want to smack him

  • please someone tell me what was wrong in that....why he kept on spinnin' around?

i have my AFF next week!! and i'm freaking out!!!

  • Alright, if guy had passed out would there be any auto deploy based on the altitude or its just plain ketchup on the ground?

  • Student rigs in the US have an AAD, so yes. BUT you can't rely on an AAD to deploy you everytime-too risky, not to mention pricey. WHY did did the instructor let him g? He didn't look ready for aff2 or 3

  • how did he even get to that level where he's not held by the instuctor..

  • lol all he has to do is ARCH haha then there is no problem but if you twist and turn and kick with your legs you gonna be like this guy lol hahahaa

  • Wow. I'd imagine some instructors would be like, "Fuck no, dude, you're not jumping at my DZ again."

  • ohh, line twists for show

  • Did anyone tell him what makes a body spin while it is in freefall? It sounds like he had to figure it out by himself! Weird!

  • I was thinking the same thing. Was he instructed on spins and stopping them or did he just not listen.

  • how the fuck this guy stay conscious after spinning for so many rounds... LOLL

hope the next video shows he pass out in the air!!

  • Comment removed

  • looks like ocana near madrid

  • Maybe you should take up bowling...

  • I'm starting to think you just like to spin.

  • 3:30 is really funny

  • OMg what a retarded kid

  • LOL

  • This can't be in the US, can it?

  • It is in Ocana, Spain.

  • Poor leg awareness and weak arch, push those hip forward!

  • well done for carying on and for posting - watching that is useful

  • Two words.. Tunnel time!

  • he is break dancing

  • spinning starts when you are asymmetric. just keep the arch (do NOT spread, the more you arch, the more stable you are), relax and be sure not to keep your arms too close to your body. 90 degrees arms are bad, either is straightened arms. just drop them on a stream and relax. feel yourself symmetric.

  • OK i need suggestions here! I did 4th jump this Sunday and I was spinning anitclockwise.. really slow but I didnt do any counter action to stop spin.. just tried to relax stretch legs.. didnt help me to stop!

what should be my reaction to get stable quick? I feel I tend to stiffen up or drop left elbow!

    - toe taps

    - arms back to go forward?

    - arms straight or 90 degs?

I assume spreading body and increasing area should slow/stop spinning.. am i rite?

  • Arch and keep your arms symmetrical. If your legs aren't the issue then I am guessing it's your left arm. But I bet your legs are the issue. That was my biggest issue. If you passed then I would worry about it later cause you are almost done. Focus on the next task and I bet you will work the problem out.

  • Rofl at you spinning, im suprised when u pulled spinning like that. that was like a 50/50 getting tangled.

  • FUK MAN...i never skydived before but when he was spinning round fast that was fucking scary.... once it got too fast the instructor put himself in danger if he went close to help him.

  • was he doing that on purpose, I obviously don't know much. I jumped once on saturday, it was amazing. I decided to go again, probably alot more before I join the Military.

    It was amazing.

  • I simply cannot believe he was jumping a hand deploy pilot chute. At this level and skill he MUST jump a rip cord PC. Deploying unstable with a hand-deploy PC CAN BE FATAL. Allowing this guy to jump this rig is almost homicide.

  • lol its a good point here in Australia i had to do 5 DRP's 3 of them were with a fake ripcord then and now im still using a ripcord they will not get me to jump a hand pc yet

  • If he cant get stable enough to deploy on his own. The instructor shouldn't have let go of him and deployed for him.

  • uh...almost all US dropzones use pilot chutes for AFF. Theres NO point in training with a ripcord if youll be using a pilot chute after 8 jumps. It just increases the chance some poor dumbass wont toss the PC and hang onto it instead like a ripcord.

  • why is he allowed to exit solo..... unless he has been taught again on the ground to correct his postion and just keeps making a cock of things

  • he didn't even suppose to be allowed to change the level. i wonder what a stupid man instructed him...

  • at least he'll be very experienced with line twists

  • lol :>

  • megalol

  • Go play chess if you can't stop spinning like that

  • hes smart not to stop the spin. too dangerous. and suicide aff is going a little too far. practice makes perfect. the guy needs to study his vids and correct that shit.

  • well yes its true he could have gotten hurt if he tried to stop it. But i think he should have never gotten far away from the student to let that happen. As bad as that guys body position was the instructor should have been holding on to him most of the time.

  • sorry!! aweful instructor!! why didnt he stop the spin??? why did he progress him?? dont hinder learning but for gods sake! good work student for pulling!!

  • what's the name of the song?

  • System of a Down - Chop suye

  • jesus...give up...

  • He forgot the 2 most simple and basic things before leaving the plane. Relax and have fun. and the 3rd. Root the earth. Far from being a suicide jump. He made the right moves under the circumstances

  • i dont think any of you nay sayers would be in too much of a hurry to track in and stop his spin.......one of the first things they teach is when it comes time to pull, PULL! save your ass, cos i'm outta here!

  • He pu;;ed more times than he didn't, so there's that...

  • You guys are way too harsh! I think the instructor did a great job. You try going up with a newbie and rushing him, as he spins out of control. The student knew he couldn't get stable and pulled with plenty of altitude. Good job to him! It's easy to sit in front of your computer and say 'he sucks'. I don't know why this guy put 'suicide' in the title. I've seen worse AFF jumps.

  • Instructor needs to pick up bowling. Obviously he cant skydive.

  • I'm just an A-licensed jumper with 115 jumps, so I make these comments with humility.

First, he shouldn't give up. I had similar stability problems at first (had to repeat Level 3) but eventually relaxed because I kept at it. Spent some time at the tunnels in Eloy and Orlando, and that helped tremendously.

Secondly, I don't fault the instructor. The student was spinning TOO FAST for him to try to stop him--could have caused a fatal collision. He did try when the spinning slowed, however.

  • And his instructor just watches the show....

  • Seriously man ARCH YOUR BACK!!!!!!!

And some tunnel time couldn't hurt. Get about 30 min under your belt before you even step foot in a plane again.

But you got backflying down so you'll be a good freeflyer....... maybe

  • Or a good briefing before the exit...?

  • True. His instructor should be fired since he didnt help at all.

  • Altitude arch legs relax, its really not all that hard. lightly drop the other arm to stop the spin and RELAX damn hes like a potato chip.

  • lol that fits perfectly to what i was trying to say

  • can't believe that's a student. if it's genuine then instructor should be shot. maybe he lied on his cv about his instrucor status cos there's not much instruction goin on!

  • Love the way during the flat spins his AFFI jus sat and watched, twist must have been mega wen he dumped.

On the plus side, if he gets off aff then he will prob be a monster freeflyer, hes got backflying down already!

  • ARCH!!! doesn't seem like your trying to correct the spin at all. you have to counter steer man. good luck

  • Good lord im with the guy below, time to try another sport before you kill yourself. Dont think the wind tunnel will help, might wanna save your money bro.

  • Haha. He likes those flat spins. :-)

  • do we really need that crappy music?

  • Props to the guy for having the balls to keep trying. Those jumps would have scared most people far away from the dropzone in a hurry. He just needs to relax and arch. It comes fast for some and slow for others, if they keep coming back that is.

  • Needs some time in the wind tunnel for sure... Not sure what the jumpmasters are thinking here... It's like throwing someone in the river to teach them swimming... And yeah - arch a little :)

  • looooooool 3:16 ur jumpmasters gave up on u,

  • Dude, you might want to consider golf or something.

    Your poor jumpmasters....

  • hmmm.....he needs a lot of work.He is even kicking his legs after the exit to try and get stable. ARCH ARCH ARCH! And when you think you are arching enough, arch harder! It will sort out a lot of probs, he must be dipping a shoulder to get those spins up like that, holy crap! I was waiting for his teeth to fly out!

  • Why the hell are they still letting him jump? He could easily have gotten either himself or the instructor killed. Blech..

  • cant believe the student has the guts to go back up and they let him lol

  • Maybe his just born with an asymmetric body =)

  • fucking hell man this is skydive ocana!! i was there this morning!! and i jumped that exact rig!!

i passed my aff failing 1 level but man he is really bad when he spins it looks like hes a goner! mibi skydiving isnt for him

must hav had a crazy amount of twists on that pull

  • Didn't he mess up his legs? messed up arms? ..Supposed to do opposite arm leg... he got small and out his column of air...Jump master was telling to look at altimeter(on his left wrist) heel click ... 35oo feet came fast, wow, JM almost got killed trying to pull chute for him. what a mess...

  • i dont get it, he spun around too much?? huh?

  • morreu

    ?

  • Why the hell was this guy being passed to the next level? I'm sorry to say but I have to blame the instructor on this one. He didn't 'pass' any of those jumps.

The guy did look like he was zoning out each time before he started spinning. I think if you do that this sport is not for you.

  • What a dumbshit, shouldnt take you that many to get it, just ARCH! you wont flip over, and make sure you are even with legs and arms

  • FOTFLMAS.. I think thats right. prob not but still funny.

  • i dont get it lol i just like the song

  • If you start to spin really fast like that, aren't you just supposed to arch all you can to stop the spin?

  • your supposed to arch and try to turn in the opposite direction your spinning

  • ya, arching won't help you stop spinning.

  • Bro if your reading these comments dont feel bad. LOL I failed Lv. 1 cause I forgot to pull!!!, second time I tried I lost 1 of my masters on exit, bad count. When we got to the ground they were all, "We'll at least you werent a danger in the air this time."

Im also sure that with the age of the video you have already passed. So its all gravy.

  • Excuse me, I meant Accelerated Free Fall - I mispoke.

  • whats the meaning of AFF? or what du people mean when they say AFF5 ?

  • AFF = Advanced Free Fall. There are levels you have to complete before you can jump solo, ranging from 7-11 I believe.

  • ah ty :-)

  • Wrong, it's called Accelerated Free Fall.

  • Yes, these skydives aren't exactly "good" but at least he has the balls to jump from an airplane! He is persistent enough to keep on it and it seems as if he lands on the ground safely! Isn't that ultimately what's most important?

Blue Skies and keep working on it Dude.. it won't be long before you fly with the rest of us!

  • I'm just an AFF rookie with 11 jumps, but a couple of times that he goes into a spin or on his back, he doesn't even seem to be trying to fix it. But these videos are great, really give me an idea of what I should and shouldn't be doing.

  • who let him jump on soft meduse?

  • loooooooooooooool xD xD xD

Why he passed his level (i saw him doing a Delta), his spinning as hell but they let him passed :S

  • Hmmmm. I wonder if he was dizzy at all? hahahahaha. Did he miss the classes on how to turn and maintain heading? hahaha i hope they didn't graduate him..... sorry if your reading this bro but you need some more work before you should be solo

  • I wonder how bad the twist was after the pull at 3:38.

Hope this guy figured out his shit and finished his course.

  • Cameraman saved him... nice

  • How many levels do you think this guy had to repeat?

  • he´s flyin allone..think he´s at level 4 ....but very turbolent ;-) ...he had many repeat-jumps at this day*** ;-)...and allways level 4.....it wasnt a good day for skydive***

  • learn 2 arch

  • hahaha tunnel time fuck off..

just needs a better instructor....and he shouldve had 2 aff instructors with him not 1..

im sure hes got it now....

    and if he hasnt..

    ARCH UR F***ING BACK DUMBASS

  • jesus christ. how many jumps in did this guy need to figure out you ARCH YOUR BACK!!!!

  • you don't arch your back, you arch from the hips. but i guess even arching from the back is better than nothing lol

  • um.....arch....

  • Isn't that at the Freefall University?

  • I think its funny...everyone talking about the student being messed up, well the student is only as good as the training he recieved. I AM an AFF-I and there is nothing that cant be fixed with a little time and attention on the ground. I blame this all on the AFF-I, ecpecially whne it comes to the uncontrolled spin, thats one of the first things you are taught during the AFF-I course....how to stop it, and never once did this AFF-I attempts to stop it. Bade instructor in my eyes.
