  • yep!! sonofabitch and there goes 5 rounds down range. gotta love it.

  • is he wearing mechanics gloves?

  • @TMerle its a certain brand of glove yeah, just about every service member I know in every branch wears them. Running the line from front-line Marine Grunts to Air Force nuclear weapons technicians to Navy red-shirts on aircraft carriers.

I dont know if its like a endorsement type thing where they're suggested by the military or if its just what everyone has found to work the best.

  • @Armoredcompany Yeah, I just found them to be the best fit and protection. I bought them, not issued. I worked construction before the military, so I already knew what I liked.

  • @TMerle Mechanix actually I have the same pair they are called Mechanix Stealth I work at NAPA and get a helluva deal on them...

  • Fire superiority. Ooh-Rah.

  • how many different varients are their of the m240..i only know of the bravo an the gulf.whats the rest? an whats the difference?

  • There is an Echo, it has the butterfly trigger like the M2 .50 cal, and then the coaxial, which is coaxially mounted beside the main gun on the LAVs or even tanks I believe.

  • there's the m240 bravo. the GPMG (general purpose machine gun) . and the FN MAG . its original name is FN MAG . the brits call it the GPMG because that's the type of machine gun it is. and i think the U.S call it the m240 because they by the design and build it them selves if anyone knows for shore please tell me

  • There's also the Coax-mounted M240 which is like any normal m240, except it has a charging cable instead of handle and is missing the buttstock, with a buffer in its place

  • @greatdaine yeah man, our LAVs have those mounted beside the main gun

  • @KamikazeSOF2 Were you the vehicle commander or whatever they callit?

  • @greatdaine the coax also have a heavy barrel to let him shoot more rounds before you have to change the barrel (witch is quite hard when your gun is fixed like that)

  • KamikazeSOF2 is correct; there are also the M240D and M240E5/M240H which are not in U.S. military use. Supposedly the lighter M240L (aka M240E6) is going into military designation this fiscal year, but we'll see. I say we should stick with the golf and bravo, for they get the job done damn well.

  • they were ASLAV 25s by the way

  • These were Marine's operating these vehicles, thus it goes by the designation of LAV-25 in the USMC.

  • the Australian version is called the ASLAV-25

  • thanks iamidiotic, definitely LAV-25's, not ASLAV

  • the Australian version is called ASLAV 25 i never new it started as an American design i think we bought the design and changed it a bit and we also must build them here to

  • Cool, I worked with the Australian Army at Shoal Water Bay in Australia. a training exercise called Talisman Sabre back in 2007

  • i tested this pintle mount while on the service life extension program for the lav-25. it had never been used until i helped test it. im glad that we adopted it because the old pintle was a pos

  • yeah weapons are so cool.

  • You can actually see the tracers!

  • Does anyone know how exactly I could be a 0331 and be issued the 240 and NOT the 249?

  • First be a Marine, lol. Then go to SOI and try to be put into the Weapons Plt. Pass all the tests, b/c if not you will be an 0311. After that, go to some straightleg infantry battalion. I think you could get Mk. 19, 50 Cal if you go to CAAT team, or you could get 240. I'm not too sure tho, we don't have 0331's in LAR Infantry battalions. Only 0311 '13 '41 '52 and supporting personnel (comm, cooks, etc.)

  • Thanks for your help, man!

I would not mind having the M2 but I wouldn't want the Mk19. Personally though, I like well aimed shots or bursts using the sights, not lobbed rounds.

Do you fellas still use the M240B?

  • Yeah, that's all we use, except for our coaxial 240's and we have some butterfly trigger ones (240E). I think they just use the 240E on the logistics LAVs tho.

  • Actually 1st LAR has had 0331's but they weren't boots fresh from the grinder ;-)

  • what exactly is a weapons platoon? I'm shipping out 20090810 and trying to become a 0331 myself.

  • 240 is bigger caliber and faster muzzle velocity and they have almost the same rounds per minute

  • by the way its a GPMG (general purpose machine gun)

  • I got a buddy, he's a Cpl, at 29 right now. Not sure what unit he's with but he's getting ready to deploy in a couple months.

  • Camp Pendleton?

    29 Palms?

    or neither?

  • 29 Palms

  • My fault I did not read the "More info" section. Sempef Fi, ive been to 29 Stumps myself. CAX 2001.

  • I have taken HE 40mm grenades that you drop. Plus many blanks and live ammo/magazines you guys leave out in the desert.

  • TALKING GUNS OOORAH

  • it was a 240 Golf. It's not a tank, it's an LAV-25, lol. It doesn't fire faster from the pintle mount, same gun. However, Echo's and Golf's are very similar and most Echos were converted to Golfs. But you're right about the T&E bytor, much better accuracy.

  • what was that gun sound at the end..wasnt a 240...

  • it might be a m249, but i don't know if they fire that fast or not

  • it was a 240- just from the tank- fires faster =different sounds. the 50 cal would have sounded louder.

  • oooh

  • M249 Saw, fast but Jams a lot

  • A great way to shoot this weapon is with a

    t & e. Accurate and deadly!

  • That is a fine weapon.

  • I bet the hill is wondering why those people hate it.

  • Ah the sound of a beautiful 240 Echo, that saved my ass in Iraq a couple times.

  • Thats not and Echo its a Golf.

  • LOL

  • CAX joy

  • 0313 ooorah lcpl type driver

  • That is a nice gun. A bit heavy when you're running around with it thou...

  • lol, a lot of free time or what?

  • what? free time? not killin all the time dude, give em' ALL a break, they cant just sit in a nice hotel and play backgammon.

its prob fun/relief to crack off a few at a non hostile object etc...

  • LMAO, should'nt these guys be winning us a war? lol but freat vid, hope to see more soon

  • wow stfu just cuz were fighting a war doesnt mean every soldier needs to be killing

  • go marines! semper fi!

  • lol pog. If you knew anything then you would know that LAR is a grunt unit. 0311s (me) are the scouts in the back and 0313s are the crewmen (driver, gunner, vc)

  • wat ever! you is still a fucking POG!!!

  • haha pogs...

  • u guys fucking suck.. u fucking pog's!

    no talking guns or anything!

  • ooo fuckin rah!!!!
