  • @Fucas101 Hi i'm Technobuff101, I was reading some of the comments posted and I found your question. I'm assuming you have a mac and have the latest version of iTunes (10.5.2) if you dont please reply.

    Instructions:

    1. Open iTunes

    2. Click on "iTunes" in the toolbar

    3. Click "Preferences"

    4. Tick the "tones" box and click "Ok"

Now you can drag your ringtone (.m4r) file into your Library section in iTunes.

Hope this was helpful. For more info check out my channel

  • what i dont get is how to get iTunes. is it on the iphone or in the computer?. i couldnot find it.

  • I can not find the rigntones on my itunes

  • @Jahniya2000 In your iTunes it should be on the left under Library. When your iphone is selected under 'DEVICES' on the left, there should be a button that says 'Ringtones' at the top between the 'Apps' and 'Music' buttons.

  • Can I use this on my 4S too?

  • @monica80014 yes this works for all iPhone's that support ringtones (I thought that was everyone of them but i'm not sure) ;). so yes it also supports yours 4S

  • Ha ha ha!! I love the way how you move the camera away when you are putting in your code on your phone!

Cheers though man you are awesome!

  • Thank you so much for your technological excellence. Much appreciated :)

  • Awesome!!! Thank you, excellent instructions :)

  • /watch?v=nDs-WAbvb9w

  • Just a footnote to this...

I skipped a step and went back into iTunes and played the newly created ringtone and it wasn't put into my ringtones folder! Even after I checked the box for the artist to be added/synced to my Library.

The key here is that YOU HAVE TO play the ringtone through the Finder!!!! That causes it to be placed into the Ringtones folder in iTunes and thus able to be synced to your phone!

Without doing this, it wont' work! Otherwise, straightforward and informative!

  • Hey, how come when I right click on it the song it dosnt give me an option to create an AAC version... Can you help? Thanks

  • HELL YES I LOVE YOU MAN LOL

  • This was great! Thanks so much!

  • wow i have had every iphone and im barely learning how to make ringtones this is sooo easy thank u :)

  • i sync'ed it but can't find it on my phone :/

  • @XxGAMEAHxX make sure when you click on your phone in itunes to see if its there, click ringtones towards the upper half of your screen in itunes, then make sure your new ringtone box is checked then click apply at the bottom right, then sync

  • Thanks! this was exactly what I needed. Very precise and clear instructions.

  • Thx man

  • I cant see the m4a

  • ohh i miss that version of iTunes, iTunes 10 user interface sucks, everything else is cool about it, But its just too much Grey!

  • ur da best

  • thanx dude!

  • i hear the Acc download, but i cannot find the duplicate file???

  • Whoa dude this is so good that its scary

  • Why the hell when i convert the acc thing to 30 sec but when i check at i tune forlder it is in mpeg4?

i did change the preference and all, but they are already default

    i am using wondowns

  • yay! thank you

  • it does not work for me... ?

When i double click on the final song - it plays like an mp3 file even though it is a .m4r ...

  • I did and success in every step. The ringtones are in my Iphone (it shows in itunes in Iphone section.) But...after it's done sync itself, I checked my Iphone, there's none in my phone, but it shows in the program.

  • This makes me mad, I can do up till moving the 30sec song out, then I don't have the stupid finder, I can find the song it's just not in the finder, and my songs don't have .m4a after the names so I tried adding .m4r at the end just because and adding it back into itunes but it counts it as a 30sec song so its poopy.

  • but my iTunes dont have the ringtone on the left hand side

  • very helpful, got it to work! I had to go to Preferences to check Ringtones for it to show up in ITunes. After Moving the .m4r file to the phone, i had to open phone preferences too, the ringtones showed up at the top of my ringtones list. Thank you!!

  • Comment removed
