I got the same loom you did, and they just have five little images about how to do it. Thanks for uploading! Now, to get really good at it so I can brag to people :)
I have the exact same loom you're using, but I'm having a HUGE problem with the black things falling off while I'm trying to work!!!! Rage has ensued... help!
Can you PLEASE show how to make the center strip or "spine" thicker? I love the look of a wider center strip but cannot figure out how to do it;-( TY, I love you and your tutorials.
I've had a go at this and its fab - thank you for you vid. I have a question, i'm at the end of my yarn and am not ready to cast off. How do you join yarn ends in the middle of the pins - thanx :-)
@DulciePhoenix I've had a go at joinging when there are two loops on my hook and then pulled through the new yarn, that seems to work ok, then i'll weave ends in when i'm finished. Is this right?
I have no problem making the lace itself. The problem comes with putting the stuff together -- I find out no matter how I stagger my lace, it always is skewed up...and how do you finish the combined strips? Would love any suggestions, or videos on how to finish and prevent skewing.
I would like to see a video of working with the strips once they are removed from the loom. There are many videos on youtube how to use the loom but I want to know how to do some fancy stitches such as where a group of loops are gathered at one end and on the other they fan out and create a wavy fabric. I am a visual learner and need to see it being done. Written directions just don't do it for me.
I am taking a correspondence course in crochet and the directions for hairpin lace left a lot to be desired! I am so glad that you had a video! (broomstick lace and filet as well, thank you!) I am still confused as to what the purpose of hairpin lace is? What is it used for?
Please do tell! I can see broomstick being used for a blanket, and filet for many items, but I just don't see what to do with hairpin. do you build on it after you take it off the loom? It doesn't "build up" like other crochet, it seems kinda like a daisy chain (when you first learn to crochet and do nothing but chain and chain!)
Your videos are truly worth watching, I love learning how to do productive things. I got out my hook and yarn right before clicking on the link to your blogspot and in less than 10 minutes thanks to you, I learned how to do the double crotchet.
Thank you so much Tereasa, I look foward to learning how to do pretty projects and more techniques from your awesome educational videos : )

Thank you so much for this video. I've always wanted to learn to do this. After finding the tool and a bag of yarn for a mere $2 at an "antique" store I decided it was time. You've made it sooo easy to understand I can't wait to get started!
Hey, this is nice. Been away and was going thru your channel and saw this one. Hair pin lace? Not familiar, well; you're my teacher, meaning your channel is where I learn to really crochet. What do I use this with. Can I attach it to an afghan or blanket. Please answer. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this but could you do a how to video once the strips are done? I'm trying to assemble my strips and somehow they're going up at an angle. I'm doing the stitchdiva method & I'm STILL messing it up. Guess I need MORE visuals. You're my last resort. If I can't get help from you, my afghan will just end up slanted but made w/lots of love :) Greatly enjoy you lessons.
Teresa....U just rock my world. I just started crocheting via your video's. Thank you so much. This may be a little over my head right now, but not for long...:)
Thanks so much!! I would like to think it was for me too, but looks like i got beaten to that, lol! this has helped heaps! been struggling with hairpin crochet for ages, but now i get it. Thankyou!!!! :D
keith i dont remember the numbers u can use it for sweaters and stuff like that i have a quickie vid of a sweater i saw where it was used looked pretty i dont know that much about it cs
I'm going to dig out my hairpin lace thing and relearn how to use it thanks to your video, Teresa! I would love to try to make a hairpin lace shawl. ^_^
I am so happy that you posted this, although i would secretly like to think that you posted this for me LoL since i asked for it. . . but i'm sure many of your fans asked for this as well. . . anyway i wanted to thank you, it is so helpful, but the only thing is i'm left-handed and it is really hard for me to figure it out. is there anyway you can post a left-hand video for us lefties. . . anyhow thank you for all the videos, they have vastly helped me through everything, crochet, and life :-)
@mvoiers It does not have to be a secret any longer. You are the person I did the video for. I will convert the video to a left hand version and try to get it uploaded in the next couple of days.
you are a very good teacher my hubby calls u speedy because i'll be way at the begining n he hear or i'll b in the middle n he hears n that is how u such nsuch haha
Theresa, I have been struggling with this for such a long time....until I found this video! The way you explain, and show by example, I got it! Thank you so very much!
I've seen this used as a scarf. One long strand of it is called a loopy scarf. It's mostly for accesoriseing. It is rather delicate, I would recomend hand washing only. Or better yet spot cleaning.
@tjw1963 Thanks I had looked up some patterns on crochetpatterncentral to get an idea. Thanks for the video... my mom would be so made at you because she's always complaining about how much yarn and needles I buy and know I'm going to buy something else!

@nightmiztrez You could use some of the flex wrap medical tape to hold the end in place.
