All domesticated elephants used in tourism in Thailand – whether for elephant riding, street begging, elephant shows and performances such as painting – have been trained from a very young age, using brutal methods in order to render them submissive.
elephants are confined and chained in crush cages for days on end, and are repeatedly beaten with metal hooks, stabbed with sharp implements in their ears, whipped, starved and deprived of sleep
it's actually fucking amazing that the elephant chose to paint that way using many dots. It shows the elephant knows various techniques of painting and can even do shading. I wonder what elephant could say if they spoke english, I know they understand english and other languages when being constantly talked to, its like when your a baby, you learn english and what words mean when you hear your parents talk and react to different wards using gestures.

wanna know why you cant see the whole elephant? a man is holding his nose/arm (that thing what is painting) the man is making the nose/arm move in the way it should go to make a painting.
@axolotlmafia We know they have intelligence, but as for imagination, the elephants were taught which strokes to make... they didn't just spontaneously start painting, although there are paintings like that as well, which generally feature all the right colours but no recognisable shapes, heh. So whereas it's quite likely elephants have an imagination, I wouldn't take this picture as proof :P

these are not natural behaviours. the elephants have been trained. you know how they train elephants? with bull hooks and violence.
please take the time to educate yourself on this extremely cruel practice. only tourists have the power to abolish it, they're the ones paying for it
this elephant was taken from the wild, beaten and made to perform tricks for money

Why the need for editing at 5:03? It's not a big deal if the trainer gave her a new brush. What, does she need artistic integrity?
